I looked up Lee Shia's Instagram, and she looks so much like Park Hana with the brown bob cut! Seems like Jung-Won…
Yeah I'm starting to realize that some people dislike Jeongwon so much their criticisms start make no logical sense. Or they don't actually watch dailies because if they do, I dare them to find a single drama where a character (usually an FL) had a near death experience at the hands of the Big Bad and didn't become more calculating and cold after recovering (I don't think the people complaining realize that in a daily there's usually three events that will ALWAYSchange how the FL interacts with the antagonist:
-being sent to prison for a crime she didn't commit
- a family member gets murdered (in a sense this is what pushed Jeongwon to go back to living as as Jeongwon)
- there's bodily harm involved and the FL has serious injuries

(Personally I don't understand hanging around to watch a drama if you really dislike the characters this is why more likely then not I avoid KBS1 dailies since most of those characters are way more annoying than the ones that are in KBS2 dailies)

I'm also glad that Nansook didn't kill Sangcheol because it spared us from Haneul's revenge arc which felt rather flimsy [and tbh I don't feel bad over what happened to Sangcheol so I probably wouldn't be into the whole Haneul avenging his dad thing. But I am living for Haneul coming after Taeseok lol]

If Jeongwon dies that would completely subvert the makjang drama playbook which would be ... interesting. Hyera…
Jukyung didn't have a twin in Elegant Empire iirc. Heejae was supposed to be a Japanese-Korean heiress (like she hired an actor from Japan to pretend to be her dad and they staged an entire scene where he "disowned her" so she could stay in South Korea lol)

Because giyoon thought he killed jukyung by tampering with her car but in reality he killed her sister, as she was driving. so jukyung decided to take on a new Identity+ get surgery to hide her birthmark which would've identified her.

Heejae would claim that she was "best friends" with Jukyung because she held that against Giyoon when she first approached him as Heejae. She would also position herself as wanting to find out what REALLY happened to her "friend", What I don't remember is how Jukyung got the funds to become Heejae but she had help from someone since she was a poor orphan lol

As for Jeongwon I am hoping to see it because I've seen some clips of Lee Shia in historical dramas and she has an intensity that would translate very well into the modern makjang 👀

Think sehun just wants the position cause haneul has it . He’s a lame-o Think Semi walks in and is shocked to…
Yeah I gotta say, I've kinda lost interest in Sehoon after Jeongwon went back to being Jeongwon. Haneul is standing on business, Sehoon is engaging in child's play.

I guess the only thing stopping Youngchae or any of the other characters from leaking the video is the fact that Kunhyang could block articles about it or otherwise prevent it from reaching the masses

Oh yeah I didn't think that Semi would feel guilty. Well, I hope she does so she can accept Jeongwon and we can throw the Semi-Jeongwon-Haneul love triangle plotline in the trash where it belongs.

I like the way the story is being told too because at the rate we are going, the ending won't be rushed. (There's nothing worse than when a daily wastes time on an irrelevant plotline leading to the main story getting a rushed resolution in the last week.) TBH this is the best daily drama I've seen in a long time. If the writer doesn't fumble the script, this may end up in my top 5 of daily dramas. Whatever drama takes over this time slot after A Graceful Liar ends has big shoes to fill.

Thank you to Tia for linking the preview! now to make sense of this with my basic Korean:Hyera is actually going…
manager hwang would be my guess, but I don't think Taeseok knows that he betrayed him yet

with how the episode ended (with ye olde hospital pillow of death) if they don't move Jeongwon to a different hospital after this they probably never will move her smh lol

I'd rather believe in the "youngchae is regretful over jeongwon" agenda I don't buy that her feelings…
Right like jeongwon and youngchae had established history with each other, even if it was toxic lol.

100% see Sehoon crashing out when he realizes that he is not actually a part of the Kunhyang bloodline.

The cancer storyline is really a wet blanket on what would otherwise be a decent daily drama. Like seriously. If it wasn't for that I would probably give this 9/10 stars. (Yes, really) But with only 21 episodes left there's no reason to drop this.

Scrolled down to the comments a lil and saw that the writer fumbled the ending. Well, we'll see if the ending is bad enough that I end up skipping out on this author's works in the future...

Oh and it's safe to say that this writer likes going for shock value - Hyera attempting to hang herself twice over the course of 5 minutes clued me in (not me feeling bad for Hanyang ...)

No preview?!?! KBS2 how could you do this to me 😭 but anywaysHell hath no fury like a woman scorned and Jin…
Thank you to Tia for linking the preview! now to make sense of this with my basic Korean:

Hyera is actually going to hold a press conference/interview where she asserts Kibeom's innocence and I think Sehoon is going to side with Taeseok? The preview is edited to make it seem like Sehoon was eavesdropping on her with the intention of doing something sneaky. Then it shows Sehoon and Taeseok walking together, like they are on a mission.

Kunhyang Association looks like they are getting some action too. Tomorrow's episode looks like it's going to be the precursor to one of those board meetings where they vote the problematic character out.

The journalist and Manager Gu are going to see something that has them shook, but what? I guess we'll find out tomorrow. This was the most interesting part of the preview to me tbh it'd be wild if they witnessed Taeseok commiting yet another crime lol

And if you were wondering, the preview doesn't show or mention Jeongwon at all!

Ju Young-Chae's actress is also in this drama (she played Jun-Hyuk's sister!) I completely forgot lol
Oh yeah she WAS the sister that was bullying Eundong at the very beginning lol I guess that's why Youngchae looked vaguely familiar when I started A Graceful Liar haha

No preview?!?! KBS2 how could you do this to me 😭 but anyways

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and Jin Taeseok is going DOWN! I find it ironic how Hyera and Nansook can put their differences aside to take down the "bigger evil" but Sehoon, despite blackmailing his "dad", felt the need to undermine Haneul's plan. I guess Sehoon is going about this in a "if I can't take you down no one can" type of way. Yeah okay, like YOU are going to do anything to Taeseok on your own... taking him down will be a team effort. If Sehoon takes Taeseok down on his own, I'm a chaebol heiress.

We have Semi, Haneul, Taeseok and Youngchae at the hospital, and Taeseok is about to go for a good old hospital murder. Someone is about to walk in on him - probably Haneul or Semi would be my guess. Haneul would probably fight Taeseok but Semi... Part of me thinks she would be horrified and this gets her on Team AntiTaesok but another part wonders... what if she actually is for this? Semi would benefit from Jeongwon dying but I think the former is more likely. Semi being THAT antagonistic would be so out of character...

I'm honestly surprised Youngchae didn't call Nansook once Taeseok threatened her life. She would call her for lesser things.... I must've missed something but this is one plot hole if I've ever seen one. Like yeah she wants to "escape Nansook's influence" which I get but I think if I were Youngchae I would make an exception for this particular situation. You need crazy to fight crazy lol

Regardless, Manager Hwang going rogue was pretty awesome and I'm glad he straight up told Haneul the truth - in return, we missed out on 10 episodes of angst and unnecessary secrets so THANK YOU for sparing me the frustration and NOT dragging that reveal out! I hope Manager Hwang stays low key about it though because I've never seen a secretary go up against their boss in a daily and it go well for them.

It would be crazy if this drama subverted the whole "hospital murder attempt" trope and Jeongwon wakes up right then and there, cocks her fist back and punches Taeseok in the jaw. A girl can dream....

Good points. Regarding the hairstyle. Two options- She might wear a wig or her hair is cut because of the head…
Good point regarding the wig! I guess we'll find out Jeongwon's fate by the end of this week, hopefully

(you caught my reference lmao Aaliyah was the moment!! First celebrity I was ever a fan of 😭)

Re: Jeongwon idk why people think she is going to retain the same personality - she was thrown off a building 😭😭 that's definitely the type of thing that will have you moving differently

(Also as a Nansuk shooter I am happy that it seems like today's episode is going to clear up the misconception that she killed Sangcheol 👀)

I don't want total redemption for Nansuk but my God is it fun to watch her go against people lol.

The way this is turning into Jin Taeseok Must Die...?! I'm here for it.

I think Haneul was the star of today's episode. He was standing on business. Jeongwon's in a coma? No biggie, the press conference is still on! Listen I'm just glad that SOMEONE finally called Taeseok out... of course I also liked seeing Nansook helping Haneul and I especially loved seeing Nansook run up on Taeseok 🤭

I'm looking forward to seeing how Youngchae and Sehoon use the video. Hopefully they just expose it to the masses but I'm sure Sehoon will (privately) use it as leverage to get that chairman position. I hope he gets messy and releases that publically.

Did anyone notice that when Nansook confronted Taeseok, Nansook threatened him with "I'm going to come after your kid" - she didn't say names or specify the gender of the kid but it's interesting that Taeseok's mind immediately went to Semi.

I'm looking forward to seeing Hyera and Nansook team up in tomorrow's episode. The preview also implies that we are going to revisit the whole "Sehoon isn't Taeseok's son" storyline. Taeseok said, "I shouldn't have taken you in" which is confirmation that Sehoon isn't his.

Oh and btw I follow Lee Shia on Instagram and she changed her hairstyle (it's a bob and she dyed her hair brown) Dailies film as they air so this means she's either written out or she will be back. I want Jeongwon to live (if Jeongwon were to die that would kill so many narrative threads...), I'm glad the screenwriter isn't using Jeongwon's coma as an excuse to stop the plot from moving. Nansook teaming up with Hyera will keep me entertained until that situation gets resolved. (I also seriously doubt Jeongwon will be as impulsive if she lives.)

Oh and Hyera is wild, literally gambling her life so she could separate herself from Sua "guilt-free". (Imagine if she would've died like ... this is CRAZY plot armor 🤡) But most importantly, we got confirmation that that was something she did on her own, not something Taeseok ordered. I remember there was a scene a while ago where Minjeong was trying to get Hyera to admit the truth but Hyera was trying to gaslight herself and Minjeong into believing that Taeseok ordered it. Nice subversion.

Title Dear X Spoiler
Finished this last night:

Excellent cinematography, awesome OST, and Kim Yoojung was the standout performer, hands down. She completely exceeded my expectations. Oh and I'm a new fan of Kim Dohoon now.

Story wise... things started falling apart for me around episode 10. I feel like the ending was rushed and the whole subplot with Moon Dohyuk was underdeveloped. JaeOh died in vain (I liked him better than Junseo tbh) This show would've benefited from being 16 episodes long instead of 12.

Either way it put me onto a new webtoon so I can't complain too much...

I give it a solid 7/10. In academic terms I give this drama is "C" grade, passable. Decent but I don't see myself rewatching it for a very long time.

Now to add all the recommended shows to my plan to watch list lol
