j'en suis au début de l'épisode 7 et franchement que c'est rafraichissant de voir la FL courir après le ML,…
Another character that i remember FL chasing ML, is Go Moon Young from It's Okay Not To Be Okay. Moon Young and Mu Hee have similiraties.

Her obsessive thought passed down from her mother. At 1st episode it shown she throw her dignity away to chase…
The show is like a poet about misunderstanding. Mistranslation.

The way you say it, you expect different kind of show.

Just finished this. Wow that was not what I was expecting, haha. Like, I enjoyed it, I'm a huge fan of Kim Seonho…
Can This Love Be Translated? fit to their story.

Can This Drama Be Translated? fit to global audience and Netflix, literally.

Her obsessive thought passed down from her mother.

At 1st episode it shown she throw her dignity away to chase the chef. She throw her dignity again when she received kindness from Ho-Jin.

She is craved for love, and she have obsessive thought. You can still dislike it, but the show have explained why she shamelessly chasing Ho-Jin.

I don’t understand why the ml is so hung up on the 2nd fl because from whats been shown up until episode 3 he’s…
he is type of guy who didn't easily swayed. When he like someone, he is so serious to the point he plant his root so deep, so it won't easily moved.

yes that's like opposite to him being smart and calculated. but that's human emotion.

he tried to move on from Ji-Seon, but he failed, that's why he called his romance is horror. even for someone who is smart, he sometimes find it hard to control his emotion over someone.

When Ji-Seon is with his brother, his feeling is no more romance feeling, more like a mix of regret, curiosity, and unsatisfactory of leaving something unfinish. His romance with Ji-Seon was left unresolved, he have unfinished business with himself in the past, it haunting feeling for someone like him, it bug him.

Probably another reason he failed to move on, because he have no one to rebound.
then Mu-Hee enter the picture.

Mu-Hee, and Ji-Seon have similarities, both are spontaneous, and Ho-Jin met them both during traveling. He is hesitant to cross the railtrack in Japan (move on from Ji-Seon), he is about to cross but Mu-Hee told him to chase Ji-Seon.

When he arrive in that tower, where Ji-Seon supposedly there, he made up his mind, that he have to stop (stop his clingy feeling to the past).

from here is totally my assumption : when he arrived in SK, he have Mu-Hee in his mind, it's not totally replace Ji-Seon, but he begin to think about other woman.

then news about Mu-Hee's comatose spread, and reach him. That kinda explain why he visiting Mu-Hee several times when she is in hospital.

Young-U counted that Ho-Jin visited 3 times, but it can be more without him knowing. this is the end of my assumption.

when Ho-Jin and Mu-Hee reunited again, he is hesitant about Mu-Hee because her popularity is like a storm to his quiet life.
To complicate more, he as overthinking person, need time to process his own feeling. Is his feeling to Mu-Hee is genuine, or just want to seek a rebound? Is he genuine or just attracted to Mu-Hee's emotion? Is he genuine or he pity her? etc etc.

It's a sweet drama, I enjoyed it. The actors did a great job, and the scenery was beautiful. The only thing that…
he need time to digest, even if he liked her. He need longer time than common people to process everything. While she is the opposite, she kept bursting into his personal space.

he like calm and quiet, while she and her world is so noisy. they're totally opposite.

You can see him discomfort with her since episode 01.

Could someone please explain what happened in episode 6? After Ju Ho Jin spoke with Sin Jo Seom, he ran after…
Netflix's translation adding more confusion.

in short,
1.) Mu-Hee's insecure feeling threatened with Ji-Seon's news.
2.) Ho-Jin told Mu-Hee that he have move on from Ji-Seon.
3.) Ho-Jin thought that Mu-Hee's feeling to him is not genuine.

Ho-Jin is already moved-on from Ji-Seon. He said it to Mu-Hee, that is why she cried later on, knowing her insecure feeling led her mistaken the situation and blabbering to make things worse.

Ho-Jin already open his heart, and about to move to next chapter with Mu-Hee.

But he thought Mu-Hee's effort is manythings except genuine feeling. He thought her effort is just to regain her pride after previous Ho-Jin's rejection.

He thought her effort is just to satisfy her curiousity about him after his rejection, something like her ego made her did it, not her heart.

While Ho-Jin is really genuine with her, he is just about to close his horror romance with Ji-Seon, just to be played by Mu-Hee.

to make it more complicated between them two, Mu-Hee's language usually contradictive with her meaning, or how she feel. While Ho-Jin is type of person who take words as literal meaning, he can't read emotion underneath it.

both speak same literal language, but different emotional language.

1st : it's you2nd : it's you3rd : it's youall that reasons you said, begin with "i", it's your pov, you…
i agree that they simplify the mental health issue.

This drama have it's own version of DID.
i'm not forcing what i thought, but her disorder here is like plot device for story telling.

i add what i saw, and how i interpreted it.

1.) Mu-Hee is never a normal person, she have her disorder passed down from her mom.

Mu-Hee also have obsessive behavior like her mom, that explain why Mu-Hee crazily chase her ex oversea to Japan, when she herself can't even speak Japanese. She did crazy things normal people won't. She throw her dignity to confront her ex, because she have this obssesive thought passed down from her mom.

Mu-Hee is partly crazy. She know it, that is why she grew anxiety what if the world know it?

What if Ho-Jin, the person she like, know she is crazy?

2.) Mu-Hee that we meet, is the mask.

Actual Mu-Hee is that crazy her who have obsessive thought, and doing things impulsively. After her family's accident, she learn how to restrict her self. She learn how to hide her self, that is why there is constant whisper in her mind to runaway, to hide as usual.

3.) Mu-Hee have obsessive thought.

That explain why she chase the chef to Japan. That explain why she shamlessly keep coming to Ho-Jin.

Her mom, have that obsessive thought. The show explained with how her mom use pregnancy to keep her lover, Mu-Hee's dad.
When they are family with Mu-Hee, once again Mu-Hee's dad about to leave her again, that is why her mom have that crazy thought : "if i can't have you, let us die together as a family."

4.) Her disorder became worse after sudden rise of popularity, then 2nd trigger when she is affraid that Ho-Jin will know her crazy part then abandon her like everyone else.

After visiting doctor in Japan, Mu-Hee have this constant thought of insecurities, how Ho-Jin will react, if he know her more?

That thought become burden for her, and she is hesitant to tell him. That is when Impulsive Do Rami begin to take over.

When Mu-Hee finally shared that burden to Ho-Jin, her burden is gone, and so is Do Rami.

This drama have it own version of DID.
The way i interpreted it, Do Rami gone not because Ho-Jin's care, (maybe some part of it) but Do Rami is manifestation of Mu-Hee's burden.

When the burden is gone, and so is Do Rami. Mu-Hee herself is not cured, because Do Rami is her. Do Rami that we see onscreen is visual storytelling. Do Rami's behavior is part of Mu-Hee.

Mu-Hee's ex, the chef with the pregnant lady, probably have revealed her crazy side, not just her relation with her family. That is why the pregnant lady called Mu-Hee as miserable woman.

That Mu-Hee's part. would you elaborate about Ho-Jin?

it's not a simple delusion. probably you'll like it more when knowing it all.
this is drama version of DID.

the way i saw it, there is two Do Rami that appear on screen.
Do Rami the hate comment, and
Do Rami the impulsive.
Both are related, but appear on different situation because they triggered by different things.

well i can't say further, but would like to know what you thought when everything is revealed.

yes, that is why i said your personal taste prevent yo u to look deeper.

your disliking prevent you to look deeper. i'm not questioning objectivity, im not talking about right or wrong.

in short.
Both characters here are complex, and your comment oversimplify them both.
I asked you about Mu-Hee's not as a test, i really like to know more what you thought about her, so maybe i can add what i interpreted.

WTF IS SHE DOING IN EPISODE 8. im actually so pissed off right now i thought this was going to be good but the…
1st part is about them mistranslating eachother.
2nd part is about him learning her language through her past, trauma, anxiety, etc. it's like 2 different vibes, but its good storytelling.

both attracted to eachother, both speak same language, but they keep mistranslate it. So us audience saw it as push and pull along the show.

oh and between those 2 part, Ho-Jin begin to speak her language when he agree that they saw "rainbow".
Ho-Jin also try to speak her language when he simply threw words to encourage her, rather than explaining scientific things about aurora.

In ep07 they having conversation about their last conversation in Canada (end of ep06 that you questioning?).

end of ep10 is when he is finally able to learn her language.

your personal taste,
1) "I hated how long the FL chased the ML"
2) "I really don’t like the trope where someone is secretly or unrequitedly in love for years and never does anything about it"
prevent you to look deeper.

if you dissect her, she is more than cute or tolerable.
if you dissect him, he is more than pathetic.

The first time they meet, they crossing the railtrack together. When they got sepearated, the railtrack is between…
I mean the railtrack after their 1st meeting in Japan.
There are 3 railtracks during their 1st meeting.
1st railtrack is about them beginning journey together (move on from previous chapter of their relationship).
2nd railtracks is about them being together (bonding).
3rd is about them on the crosspath (go back to previous, or continue new chapter with new person).

their 2nd meeting is also in Japan, it's when she ask him to the doctor. im sure i saw train and railtrack.

then like you mentioned, one in Canada.

and there is still more of it, i just don't remember.

but i do remember his closing about zombie romance. He met with Ji-Seon in a train to Busan, and he comfortably speak his feeling to her in the past.

They advertise this drama as romance, which it is, but it borderline on a psychological strange concept. This…
the back and forth are necessary, because that is where they lost in translation. (But it does annoying for us, viewer.)

in the end, Ho-Jin able to speak in Mu-Hee's language, eventho Mu-Hee still hard to understand his. Because between them two, Ho-Jin is the one with skillset to dissect and learn new language.

Ho-Jin's confession sentence is confusing, because that reflect his way of thinking, realistic way. But then he use Mu-Hee's language : kiss.
