That's you. I've watched plenty of Chinese dramas lately (the bottom of the barrel now because I've skipped through a lot of boring dramas) and for the most part they like to put characters in that look different. These guys look like they are all from the same boyband. These two guys look far too similar. They probably even have the same acting coach or makeup artist.

That's why I dropped the show after episode 33, it got really long winded with no real purpose. The main female lead constantly getting injured kind of made me mad. I only watched it for Lusi but the many other people in the show ruined it for me. Too many characters and far too many kids being killed in this show. I only made it to episode 33, I wonder how many more kids they are going to snuff off if I continued. I know plenty of children die but watching it is just too sad for me. That poor thief boy who saved the princess (second lead princess) was killed off and I liked him. That was just too sad for me.

I was trying to figure out who the characters were and kept confusing the two guys. I had to check online to figure out what character I was looking at. There are a few guys that look too similar in shows that I get confused as to who is who. There is a parody about it in "Mr. Queen" where the two men had similar figures and mannerisms that some people couldn't figure out who was who. Although those two men in the show didn't look that much alike except for height and weight. As for this show, It took me a while to differentiate the two guys. The different colored clothes helped but for the first ten episodes, I could not tell them apart. I don't look at people's eyes that closely or how many lids they have. Their faces and dress are similar enough to not be able to tell them apart. I felt the same way about the ML too...except he has this kind of anorexic kind of look so I could tell the difference with him. It's like they have the same look and expression in this drama. HD does look mean a lot. Shuyu just didn't smile much either so that was another thing in the beginning. Maybe if they both smiled, I could tell the difference.

The point is why was it always her getting injured? Why not the male lead? Why was she always the guinea pig? I am surprised she didn't get gang green constantly. She was the luckiest person in the whole show. She was kind of dumb and impulsive but the constant need of rescue brought her value down pretty low as a strong female lead. She's more like the damsel in constant distress.

It is just lazy writing. If you think it's acceptable for the amount of injuries in less than 15 episodes, you gotta be crazy. The fact that she can use her arms after pulling out an arrow from her shoulders (which she stabbed and shot on both shoulders), that's crazy. They should have made her tougher instead she is always having to be saved by someone because of some injury or other. They are using daggers and swords that are designed to kill. It's not like she's being stabbed with a butter knife or even a kitchen knife (which I've watch many cases of forensic files) where people die from the stupidest things. I guess I am used to watching criminal case files of actual murders so I'm biased. I don't mind the fantasy aspect of Chinese drama like gods in the midst of humans but the only way to survive a fight is to get as little injured as possible. Even in "Oh My General", the only way that anyone could injure the main female was to poison her. She kicked ass. I know it's fantasy for a woman to be that strong but if she constantly got stabbed and shot, I wouldn't have enjoyed it that much.

Yes, they look like, their expressions are the same, their mannerisms are the same. Their facial structure is very similar. If you changed their clothes around and they started playing each other's characters, I wouldn't know it. They could be brothers from another mother.
Having been injured in the shoulder from boxing, it took a year and a half for my injury to subside but since it's torn, it's not the same. She got stabbed and shot multiple times and then came back the next day looking fine. That's ridiculous. She must be immortal to get multiple wounds in the same spot. Plus, she's in ancient times. They died younger back then just from disease. It is in no way believable that she gets back up and fights again as if nothin happened. Maybe once after a long recovery but not multiple times. She must be immortal. Many people have died in this show from less injuries and she is still kicking. Little kids have died in this show.

Hao Du and Wei She Yu look too much alike. I am getting confused as to who I am looking at. Also, how many times does the female lead get stab, shot by an arrow in the chest while falling off a bridge, getting stabbed again, shot by another arrow again....is she immortal?

That's why I don't want to start it yet. I hate waiting.

Season 2 with same cast please. Without the same cast, it will just be a disappointment.

I’m on episode 14 and I don’t think the main lead is good enough for the FL. I don’t feel he really likes her and she has so many other options. The chemistry is kind of uncomfortable.

I’m on episode 18, how many times does the FL need to rescued from something or other? For a famous detective, how did she survive for so long without Prince Qi? For a “strong” female character, her character kinda sucks at saving herself.

I’d like to see him in a show with Rosy Zhao, I’ve seen her in a few dramas and I think they’d mesh well together.

FL really doesn’t feel like a lead but more a person in the background making loud annoying noises. She works at a cooking school but the other people are cooking and teaching while she’s hovering in the background following the lead around. The only thing relevant in the show is that she’s the daughter of the guy who the male lead accidentally injured. Besides that, she’s judge mental and useless.

I’m in the first episode and she’s already getting on my nerves.

Help me! This show is awful. I don’t like anyone. The male lead is an arrogant, mean a$$ and the female lead always has this dumb look on her face, Her friends are no better than your worst enemies…. I watched it see if it gets better but the dumb girl gets dumber and the A$$ gets meaner the more he “likes” her. Just really cringe and the acting is atrocious.

I do feel the main lead couple to be really boring. The ML is so emotionless throughout the whole show. I don't even think he really likes "her", just that she's the only girl he talks to. I don't even know why he talks to her at all. It's weird. I don't even know why she likes him, he's so uninteresting. I don't know if it's the actor or the role but it seems a little too "aloof". Actually he looks more "depressed" than aloof. He looks so unhappy. Maybe the actor didn't like the show and was depressed about his role so therefor it showed. He feels more like a filler character than a main lead. The brother and the best friend are far more interesting. A much more animated type of relationship. Atlas, I am only on episode seven. Maybe he'll look more interested in being in the show in later episodes.

It was good until about episode 25 and then everything else got really annoying afterwards with too many side stories and unnecessary conflicts between the main couple. I fast forward much of it after episode 28. C dramas always end up stretching their shows to the point where it becomes just lame. It’s rare to find a show that is good from beginning to end in Chinese dramas. They always find a way to ruin things in the middle.

Where are the female hockey players and the male speed skaters? Weird.
