does it really get better? I'm on EP5 and I decided to drop this yesterday because I just don't really feel anything…
Yes it does get better! It took me abit past ep10 to really like it and before that i was watching halfheartedly trying to understand the plot lol. I dont know why they made FL so annoying initially, the leads became so cute and awkward together after they started to secretly like each other
The kisses were worth waiting for! I love how you could see the progression of ML and FL falling for each other. Glad I didn’t give up on this drama because I was quite confused about the first few episodes...it got better!
I love the 暧昧 stage (the time when 2 people like each other and they both kinda know but no one has confessed yet, aka more than friends but not yet lovers) and this drama is portraying that feeling so well!! Makes my heart giddy! Love it
Sometimes i swear there is so much internalised misogyny amongst drama viewers sigh. The way i see it, there is nothing wrong with FL...it is the poor scriptwriting of what happens after FL found the legal document, actually it’s very easy for ML and his sis to clearly explain the misunderstanding to FL, but perhaps because of needing to drag out the conflict and the plot, it’s not explained to FL properly, and hence her continued negative reaction. I am disappointed because I thought the drama was great up to that point...FL had already just extended an olive branch towards ML and said that they could try to parent their son together. She even told her bestie that if and when she confirmed her feelings for ML, she wouldn’t run away from those feelings too! It’s the scriptwriting I would blame.
The cinematography is insanely good, does not feel low-budget at all I’ll be watching the director’s future works too, and he also seems to pick good scripts
It was a light and easy watch until it got draggy in the second half
For me, the drama went into craycray territory when the female boss nearly set FL on fire and 2ML didn’t report her to the police?! No one on the streets bothered to go after her? FL didn’t even know who attempted to murder her and there was no follow up?!
This is alot better! And I actually liked Maid’s Revenge as a trashy guilty pleasure, but Provoke is actually so good....it’s well-directed, the ML is not toxic, this FL is smarter than the FL from Maid’s Revenge, and the plot makes more sense imo.
To be honest, ep1-6 moved abit too slowly for my normal liking but I am glad I persisted because in ep7 i understood why the first few episodes were necessary to the plot and in helping us understand the main characters’ reasons for doing what they do. Love them both, they feel like real, actual people.
My favourite screenwriter!! I love Hi Venus and The Day of Becoming You so much, came here and found out he wrote Find Yourself too which I absolutely loved?! I am a fan, sir! The characters he writes are so realistic, they are good people but imperfect and behave like actual people I know in real life so I can relate to them so much!
I dropped this after 3 episodes when it first came out because somehow FL’s character turned me off but I decided to come back to it after watching Double Love and liked Bi Wenjun in it. Totally no regrets! FL’s characterization gets alot better and the main couple is so sweet! I felt so envious lol. The 3 couples and their different relationship dynamics feels realistic to me. I also love how the ML isn’t the typical cold domineering jerk, he’s actually quite warm, just quiet/reserved!
