I just found out that some of the crew drama and the director have a reaction and recap channel for the drama…
Thanks for this. I really enjoy just how accessible some figures in the Thai industry try to be. I don't think we'd see self-made efforts like this from Hollywood types...
Hi. Well, something similar happened to me too. But he didn't contact me again out of the blue 7 years later.…
My heart goes out to you over your circumstance. Those words :base" and "sinful" have a resonance in circumstances like these, but they reflect more on the popele desperate for "normality" and social approval than on us.
This story does have a fairytale like quality to it in its resolution. I appreciated it, too, but I felt it was worthwhile to comment that I felt it would be an exceptional outcome, rather than the rule...
Personally, I think 2gether is slightly more popular than ATOTS (but I love ATOTS ... WAYYYYYY MORE). how big…
Silly question: who are the four pillars of GMMTV? I suspect I may have not watched shows involving any of them, other than Tay & New. Are they one of the pillars?
That's how it happened in the book though. To me the romance it's bittersweet, we can feel how much they love each…
QUOTE: Maybe if a viewer absolutely LOVES Earth and just seeing his face on screen is satisfying to them, then this show is perfect for them. Or the same with Mix? Or they loooove watching slow burn in a countryside background... there are many reasons for people to like this, like in everything. "
If that was your sole intent, why did you choose to capitalise the word "LOVES"? Likewise with "loooove" That denotes sarcasm directed at people who enjoy the series. Why was that necessary to get your point across?
Can you give me a time stamp to the rape? Usually rape involves a lack of exchanging expressions of deep love…
I feel that there were enough things going on with YJs character to make him interesting and enough going on in the show, in general, to generate discussion without taking things where they chose to go. If a show has to rely on employing deliberate sensationalism, it doesn't speak well for the other aspects of it.
Can you give me a time stamp to the rape? Usually rape involves a lack of exchanging expressions of deep love…
I have to go to bed, but for now I'll say that it was obvious to us, as viewers, that this was planned and carried out by YJ to take advantage of XS, leveraging XS' trust in YJ to exploit the situation even further. Before he left for the getaway, YJ told their mum that he was "going to do" something to deflect their fathers' anger from XS' coming out to himself. This was not an innocent happenstance.
And, again, why do we have to have so many instances of dub and non con occur in BLs, in the first place? I'm pretty certain that the number of times the matter comes up in BLs far outpaces the occurance of it in non BLs. Further, in how many non BL scenarios is it as casually brushed aside as it is in BLs?
None of that is about oversimplification, but taking a look at the subject objectively, IMO.
Anyway, G'night and I'll reply tomorrow to any thing you might have to say...
I agree that those sensitive topics are sometimes necessary to bring more awareness to them but it just pisses…
Indeed. It's 2021. The percentage of BL romances that involve rape are disproportionately high in comparison with non BL romances. How many of those actually follow up with meaningful commentary and demonstrate consequences? Few. It's a cheap bit of titillating fetishisation and if XS had been a female character, I sincererly doubt that this board would look very similar to what it looks like now.
Off topiccan't wait to see Earth in "Mama GoGo" this year. LOL 5555https://youtu.be/7CUK2K2cs6c?t=189
I've seen Earth move in a couple of other vids and I think he's going to do nicely, here. I also look forward to seeing Toptap Jirakit and Mike Chinnarat dance. I've seen tik tok vids of those guys and they can bring it! (I think Mike's really cute, actually, and I wouldn't have minded seeing one of his BLs but he's only been in series that I didn't think I'd like, overall.)

Whether it's rohypnol or alcohol, YJ set about to use a mood altering substance to manufacture a consent from XS that XS would not have provided had he not been under the influence, The methodical way in which YJ planned out and then executed his plan would, combined with what I previously said, would qualify as rape, where I live.
Yeah, back in the days of 80s YAOI manga, there might have been some narrative value in including rape as a theme for deliberation but this is 2021 and given the genres' abysmal record of having any outcomes for such serious acts it comes off (to me) as a feign for sensationalism.
I'll be the first to praise the show if they address such a heinous act with the seriousness it merits, buy I'm skeptical. Given the genres record it will be brushed aside and passed off as some sort of acceptable gateway to love.
Was it a necessity for the author to have this in her work? What purpose does it have in the narrative that couldn't have come about in other ways? This isn't bold new territory the show is heading into. It's been done far too many times, in the past, for it to be much other than the genres' equivalent of T&A to 'spice things up, ' I think.
If this had happened to a female character, I wonder if there'd be any hesitation about that, at all...
Aey is tall and masculine but he has a high-pitched voice and pretends to be soft which is why Gene and most people…
Indeed. I real life, high-pitched vs low-pitched voices along with other "indicators" of "masculinity" or "femininity" don't' correlate with topping /bottoming for gay men half as much as other people might think...
