China too... I mean word of honor , untamed, immortality and countless other BLs coming out this year and next…
I scroll through comments occasionally because I have a rapport with people who watch the show, and I like to see what they have to say. Occasionally, I'll comment if something catches my eye. Here, what I commented on doesn't have anything to do with this show, itself. I won't be commenting on the episodes that follow because I won't see them.
Thank you very much for these explanations.Very useful and it gives a good logic to the story. When we watch dramas,…
Don't you think it's a bit of a stretch to imply that someone who doesn't like a particular drama does so because they have a closed mind to other cultural perspectives?
I've been looking forward to reading your impression. I, like you, didn't openly cry as much as I thought I would…
I was joking but you just never know for sure with some people :D
I had just commented in a PM that the social sciences are a sort of hobby and point of interest for me, as they tie in well with my interest in Psychology. Sociology, Political Science, Cultural Anthropology: they all interest me!
I was a very shy and deeply unpopular boy, when I was young. 5-11 yrs. old. Instead of going out to the yard with other kids in my class at breaks and lunch time, I would be in the school library reading about ancient cultures and myths as well as modern cultures of the world.
My parents had an encyclopedia set and I would also spend hours going through them like someone who goes from link to link on the web, today. Opening my mind to the larger world, I think, was a refuge for me from the bullying and harassment of my local confines.
I've been pleased by the way that this show has given us glimpses at the culture of the villagers. The more we learn, the better we can appreciate and understand other perspectives, IMO.
I think Longtae and Phupha is a perfect example why you do not abandon your friends after getting a lover. Sometimes,…
It's never a good idea for us to rely on our partners to be everything for us at all times. It's an unrealistic and unhealthy burden to place on someone else. It happens to a degree at start of many relationships to foster bonding, but a balanced relationship consists of two people with a special bond that are still individuals.
I hope it will change for you. I also hope that you'll be able to watch the last episode with your concerns set…
OK. My understanding is that they've already made a number of changes from the novel, so maybe there might be some changes to the things you disliked, as well...
I've known of real-life instances where people have made radical changes in the way they look at the world and…
While things have gotten better, the sad and tortured outcomes pretty heavily dominated, for awhile. The "kill your gays" trope still rears it head in too many mainstream shows around the world...
Never seen this comment section so polarized before.. :DWith all its pros and cons, I wanna share my "unique"…
I've been looking forward to reading your impression. I, like you, didn't openly cry as much as I thought I would but I was teary eyed for much of the episode, none the less. For me, what I feel is that they've largely limited the blast radius of the revelation to this one episode. With things unfolding as they did over a two day period I think what happened at Ghost Hill will shift things toward a focus on Phupha's recovery, Tian's reconciliation with the villagers and Tian's father's connection coming to light.
I was worried that we might have gotten the star counting scene as the final scene of the whole series. That gives me a small hope that we might have time to see Tian and Phupha interact in a more openly loving frame during the last two episodes.
All of the scenes you mentioned moved me as well. We've been given such a gift with this series and it's been great to connect with others viewing it, here, as well. That enhances the experience, for me. =)
we, as the audience, spent literally 7 whole episodes doubting if tian was the one who killed torfun and saying…
I made a number of posts, yesterday, that were about this and I agree with much of what your have said, here. Ultimately, people will have their own opinions, and I hope the series isn't ruined for them.
For evey tear you have shed because of someone's hate/ignorance I am SO SORRY!!!
That's very kind of you, thank you for your empathy. I just live in the hope that fewer and fewer people will have to experience such things as we learn to treat one another as human beings with more acceptance and kindness. =)
Would a TV show dare do this if they thought they could be open to a Defamation lawsuit and lose?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(I guess I'll see how many people unfriend me for saying that...)

Just over 43 min. Long. I haven't watched it, yet.
