War is hell no matter what country is fighting, even when they are fighting themselves. The separation of loved ones during war is also hell -- never knowing if or when they will return. This movie was one of the best I've seen that shows the horrors of war and separation. The acting was superb by all, and the special effects were as real and gross as if being there during the war... I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is a history buff, especially those who want to know more about the war that separated mainland China from Taiwan.
It never ceases to amaze me how people can watch the same drama yet come away with totally opposing views of what they've seen... I loved it, and I'm sorry that others didn't... :(
This was one of my favorites! The whole cast was "warm and cozy", especially the two leads! I'm going to miss seeing them ;) I highly recommend this also ...
Everything that biniBningPunkista said in the review above is what I would say! Amazing!! I'm trying to watch…
I remember watching it on www.dramafire.com, but it's not there now. Finally found it on drama.net ... www.drama.net/ing To watch the movie click on the link below the other movie pictures... Hope the link is still good! Enjoy!
I also watched this movie for D.O. and also for Kim Kang Woo ... BUT ... I found something else by watching... Great movie! Great actors & directors & writers!! Sadly, though, the workers didn't seem to get a better contract without a pro-bono lawyer and staff working for their legal rights! Yes, they were hired back; but were they guaranteed never to be fired like that again? The Union Director had to give up his own job for them to be re-hired, which wasn't fair either. GREED and LIES from the owners will never stop without a class action type lawsuit with legal rulings that will stand up in court... Still, it was a Great movie with a Great cause!!!
When it comes online, please send links to where it can be seen!! Yoo Yeon Seok is so good in "Warm and Cozy", but it sounds like this is a totally different kind of role... Looking forward to it!!
What a horrific time of waiting ... and waiting some more. Judging by the time, I assumed I saw all of this that was available, but they should make an entire movie out of this story as a remembrance of all of those who were separated by the war between the South and the North... Go Soo was barely in the "movie" which could have possibly given us some background of his life... What happened to them? Were they ever reunited?? I just have an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach...
Truly AMAZING movie! Top Notch cast of Actors from top to bottom! Power struggles, hatred, grudges, jealousy, and absurd lives of the rulers of the Joseon period... I highly recommend this movie who fall in the age range for PG13. The only thing I would have changed about this movie would be to make it into a Drama instead of a Movie ... Either way, it was one of my favorites... Go Soo portrayed his character flawlessly as he always does ... ;)
After watching the first two episodes, I had decided not to watch any more. Then I decided to give it one more chance and watched Episode 3 -- by then I was hooked. By then, something had chanced either in the writing, directing and/or some over-acting; but I loved it from then until the end. It was one of those drama that I looked forward to, and one that I will miss seeing!
I can't say that I enjoyed this drama because it's not the kind of drama that can be enjoyed. What I saw was the insanity of bullies against weaker students and the pain (physical and mental) that is meted out relentlessly!! What I am saying is that I'm proud of the writers, directors and especially the actors who gave such an excellent performance for the viewer to watch. It made me want to do everything possible to stop bullies wherever they may be found -- in schools, in society, in the workplace, and even in families. GOD help the society that allows this to continue without making the bullies pay the consequences of their actions. For those who stand by silently allowing this to happen, it's as if they / we have had a part in the pain and suffering of those being bullied. I recommend this drama highly!! It's probably rated PG13 -- if you fall into that category, I hope you will watch this drama ...
I've seen all of the Bourne movies, but I didn't make any connection and/or comparison between them and "The Suspect" except I thought "The Suspect" was better!! Action packed, full of special effects, car crashes, bloody fights... What else can you want from a great Action Thriller movie?!? The acting was superb (Gong Yoo was absolutely amazing!) -- mostly done without words but using facial expressions was more than enough. Korea made a top-notch Action movie!! Think it was rated PG-13 which means I would recommend this to anyone who falls into that category!!
The absolutely positively greatest "School" Series Ever!!! Loved it so much! There will be another "School" in the future, but I so wish they would have a Season 2 with the same cast!! They won't do that, but I can wish ... ;)
What a magnificent actor!! Just finished "The Man From Nowhere"... Amazing even though I don't normally watch movies with that much blood and violence. Would love to see him make a comeback to Dramas and Movies... No Dramas since 2002 and No Movies since 2010... He is greatly missed...
What a magnificent movie... I don't usually like movies like this with so much violence, but... So much heartbreak for one man to unleash so much violence. A good man with a warm heart of gold who was trained to be a special ops assassin...
Won Bin is a terrific actor! Where has he been lately?? Though he just got married in May, 2015, he hasn't been in a Drama since 2002 or a movie since 2013. He is definitely a role model for Korea in giving of his time and finances to numerous charities including UNICEF... I would love to see him back on the big screen and/or the TV screen soon ...
I don't think his character was afraid to love at all ... He seemed to deeply love his wife and unborn child. The shock of their tragic deaths sent him in a tailspin of despair, pain, depression, loneliness, etc. His saving grace happens when he can use his training as a special ops assassin to save and protect while killing as many of the bad guys involved as possible. Magnificent movie... even though I don't normally watch ones like this with mega violence ...
