I liked the politics part too. I am not a fan of saeguk dramas and usually skip through all the political shenanigan to just watch the romance. But here I liked it. But later it started to get yet graver and there was no actually payback that could be shown for YM to stay true to the facts. There were stuff too that I felt a little unmanaged and unbalanced and rushed. Just what i thought. Don't ask me what because I have completely forgotten now. I watched it in pieces and it has already been a minute. The performance was impeccable though, by everyone. This show had an amazing cast.
I absolutely agree with you on the bts thing. It seemed KSY grew a lot on-screen and off in terms of chemistry with DY. And I have already said a million and 2 times that I adore them both, so it especially pleases me<33333 :)

Not Taiwanese! That was made the first, even before hana Yori. The adaptation is from Japanese manga but the first version was Meteor Garden Taiwan, i think. :)

Hi! Sorry for being a trillion days late. I was away and came back just a few days ago. And you won't believe I finally could finish it after getting back. Really bad timing with this drama. I have mixed feeling about it. Loved the first 10 episodes to the fullest. It started somehow dwindling from the 11th though. Just to me. But still i'd say this is one of the better dramas of this year seeing how disappointing kdramas are getting by the day. I am taking a temporary break from them. :)
The first reaction of Dao upon finding Marut is the young boy she once saved, shouldn't it be: umm... okay. I don't think this (hooking up) is that great an idea. I saw you as a child. Let's get me adjusted to THIS "predicament" too. Then Maru be like: But I have been looking for you for so long and since you are so hot, have hots for you too. Age is but just a number. After that at least a little bit convincing to get her to accept his grown up self. But here she just hugs him and then... Like nothing weird and awkward about it. Not saying it should not progress or anything, just give a little time for the awkward fact to sink in. The age gap isn't the issue. It's the fact that their first encounter was when she was probably 80 and he what 12! How is she feeling romantically towards a guy she saw a kid, even if they look the same now!
