blah blah blah...controversy, controversy...outrage, outrage, outrage...angry "viewers" (how many? 3? 300,000?, what?), scandal, scandal, scandal...demands for scene deletions, blah blah blah...oh look, another faux SHOCKING scandal ginned up by trash media, netizens, and MDL. Such a surprise.

Palestinians have launched THOUSANDS of rockets and missiles into Israel over the years. Hezbolah in Lebanon has been firing missiles into Israel since the beginning of the October 7th war.

It is so weird how all these "outraged" people conveniently pretend to forget who and what started this war...an attack by Hamas on Israel that killed 1,200 people, most of them civilians. At any moment since Israel invaded Gaza, which Hamas KNEW would be the response to their horrific attack on Israel, Hamas could have surrendered and the war would end. But no, it goes on and on because Hamas likes hiding among its own people so they will be killed and injured and stupid people like the ones going crazy over this silly scene in a drama will lose their shit and blame Israel.

Good god, the willful ignorance...it's appalling.

A top-notch BL.

Love that the story starts off quickly and intensifies slowly through eight episodes, with pathos and hilarity along the way. Beautiful casting, great chemistry. A refreshing change is that for once, we have a tall, handsome, popular, jock lead who is pining for his short, cute, mildly popular, non-jock best friend instead of the other way around.

Kakaru is adorable and likeably dorky. The actor's facial expressions made me laugh a dozen times, especially when he's put on the spot or confused/panicked. Yamato carries the weight of his repressed feelings for Kakaru in a subtle but powerful use of body language. Both leads are tremendous here.

Yamato is the one who at first made me gasp at his beauty, but it wasn't long before I began to see that Kakaru's features are just as lovely but in a different way. I'd love to see these guys without those lame Asian bowl cuts. :)

Love the blonde friend who at first comes off as a bit of a jerk but slowly it is revealed that he is insightful and caring in a stylish, direct way. I liked that character a lot. Very good looking.

Watching this series was an emotional experience for me. I identified so strongly with the pain of carrying repressed affections and emotions around every day in high school. Living in the closet is extremely stressful and damaging in countless ways.

Highly recommended.

It's manipulative.
Oh I get it just fine...your inferiority complex toward the U.S. has made itself clear ever since you stalked my profile and discovered I was American. The U.S. is a pretty fucked-up place, right now especially, but you still feel its dominance of world affairs and it gnaws at you...lol
Not my problem.

It's manipulative.
A floundering Brit who writes like an ESL wannabe, desperately trying to back track. lol If you were calling ME a jackass you would have written "he's a jackass." But you threw "American" in there because of your inferiority complex. I don't care who or how many I've annoyed here. As long as I've annoyed YOU, it's all good.

It's manipulative.
It's also entertaining to read an ESL wannabe, non-American use the "U.S.-BAD, everyone else on the planet GOOOOOOOOD" argument as if it proves something. Your inferiority complex is showing.

The idea that men aren't allowed to have an opinion on anything having to do with a female's health is just...stupid. This would be news to the vast majority of women across the world whose doctors have penises. lol Idiot.

Enough said.

Person Hama Shogo
Shogu, my man, BRAVO! on your work in "Love Is A Poison," which I discovered just yesterday on Netflix and binged over two days. You and Katsumi made real magic. I laughed, cried, and everything in between. Shiba is now my favorite/hottest nerd/lawyer in all of BL history. :)

I look forward to finding out what else you can do and in pursuit of that, I'm about to peruse your filmography for shows to watch. Congrats on LIAP and all the best in your future career. I will be watching!

BEST JAPANESE BL IN...AGES.

I don't know how this one stayed off my radar, but I was unaware of it until coming across it on Netflix! I am about to start the final episode, but I've been busting to stop in here and rave about it, so might as well do it now.

Good god, so excellent. Funny, deeply touching/emotional/romantic, and incredibly sexy despite their being zero sex scenes. Some nice, heartfelt kisses are delivered, however demurely, but it's the chemistry and connection between these characters, and the actors' ability to convey same through their faces/eyes/actions that makes it so freaking sexy.

These are two of my favorite-ever Jap BL characters, maybe most favorite.

The writing is tremendous. Lots of laughs, tears, feels, and remarkably committed acting. I adore both characters and am now a fan of both actors. Shiba is the sexiest/hottest uptight/nerd/lawyer in the history of BL. Once he pulls that ten-foot pole out of his ass he is a man on a mission. Haruto, as played by the actor, makes it easy to see why he puts himself through such a profound change, risking everything in the process.

Bravo!

"If she decides to continue to work in this field, she will never regain mental stability..." How dare you write…
Paraphrasing you: "You're too fragile and sick to do what you love doing because of assholes on the Internet and in the media, so you should quit and go into hiding and be miserable instead of working out a way to keep doing what you love without letting such people get to you..." = "empathy and good intentions..." HAHAHAHA...only in your world, weirdo.

I repeat, I am not now, nor have I ever, been a "fan" of this actress. I didn't know who she was until this article. However, I've seen the cycle of celebrity abuse, of which you are a part, play out a hundred times like this regarding Korean, Taiwanese, and Japanese artists and it needs to stop. Reacting as I have, with support and compassion, is REAL empathy as opposed to the fake kind you offer.

Now, Dr. Imaginary Psychiatrist, please bite me.

Thanks for accepting the FR.
Sadly, one of my custom lists is an ever-growing tally of Korean performers who died by suicide. After Lee Sun Kyun left us just a year ago I decided it was long past time for such a list to exist here, given that Koreans especially like to forget about the last suicide, which they pretended to be "shocked" about, until the next one happens. I wanted to put up a list to honor the dead and to put in the faces of those who prefer to pretend they've forgotten or "moved on."

If you look at it, let me know if there is someone you know of who should be on it, because I know it is far from complete to the present.

I discovered Korean cinema/BL/music about five years ago and along with the stunning amount of incredible films/dramas/tunes I've discovered came knowledge of the suicide epidemic, of which I had no idea and of which you won't hear as a newbie because that is the way Korea likes it. It should be an ongoing topic in the news.

I quickly became a SHINee fan when I discovered their music videos. I was particularly drawn to Jonghyun. Then, about two weeks after I found them I learned he'd already been dead two years. I was hit by a ton of bricks. After that, I began to learn how many kpoppers have killed themselves; then actors, musicians, agents, and others. I couldn't believe what I was reading...but there it is.
