Sorry, I'm pretty much up for any plot device that gets the male lead to show his chest.. call me shallow. lol (shrug) I especially liked the 2nd lead couple in High Society because she kept ripping his shirt off for no reason that advanced the story except to show Park Hyung Shik's physique in a funny way.
Welp, I chose to put Love Alarm on hold (I think I watched up to the 2nd or third episode) once I found out that it had a cliffhanger and that I would need to wait for a season 2. I'm trying to decide if binge-watching will make it more enjoyable or if maybe I should just skip it... fyi I haven't jumped on anyone's ship yet so that's not an issue.
Found my way to this show while waiting for subs for Mr. Queen. So different, yet still so much fun. On ep 8 and…
I'm going to binge-watch Mr. Queen so I'm still waiting, but me too. There was so much I loved about this drama... the silly ridiculousness that made me laugh so hard, and so much I didn't like... the casual violence and the ending. I gave it a 7.5, but if the ending had been better I would have scored it much higher. I hope Mr. Queen gives us a better ending!

Maybe it's because I watched it on Netflix so I didn't read the comment section, but for me this was a nice "Sunday" drama. As far as the story, I've watched worse this year... When I Was Most Beautiful comes to mind... and WAY worse over the years. (I'm looking at you, Marry Him If You Dare)
HJP is a clown. When Grandma came to meet him 15 years after to tell him "Let's find the real Do San so that we…
Okay you convinced me 64.7%. lol I liked how things turned out professionally for all of them. I don't know about In Jae's private life but I'm going pretend she found someone too.

Sorry, you felt that way, I gave my honest opinion about the SL. It's not that I didn't like the guy or think he didn't deserve happiness, it's that I thought he was wrong for the FL "as she was written". The relationship would have been too lopsided. But hey I've made up alternative stories and ending for dramas. K-2 comes to mind...

By the time the three meet the person with the "safety blanket" is HJP who has everything he needed but friends and that's his own fault. It's not SDM's job to "save" him. HJP was honest? What are you talking about? He didn't even write those letters by himself, granny helped. He only stopped lying to SDM because he was caught. NDS wanted to tell SDM the truth more than once and was talked out of it by HJP and Granny. As far as "luck" and HJP saving NDS... what a crock. Romance? Every move NDS romantic move he made toward SDM he did on his own. Business? NDS was brilliant in his own right his team didn't need HJP to win CODA. Alex could have become the mentor and they would have been just fine. HJP is 33 when they meet in person. 18+15=33. WIJ might be 27 when we see her at the Sandbox symposium, but there is no way that SDM and NDS are that old. I got the impression they were 24-ish. I liked them as a couple because they understood each other and they were balanced when it came to life experience and power. The bottom line is that "You snooze, you lose." is true, so is "Faint heart never won fair lady." It only took one day after NDS read those letters to show up and meet her in person. If it hadn't been for Granny and her request HJP never would have tried to meet her at all and THAT is why in the end he didn't "deserve" her.

Well no, because who talks to the grandma who helped you like that, but how about: "Grandma it been 15 years, I'll tell her I wrote the letters because you told me about her and I changed my name because I was 18 and embarrassed to be writing to a 9-year-old girl. If she needs someone to take her to the party I'll be happy to do it. Hell if she needs a job I'll be happy to hire her". Then as long as she likes what she sees he's got a 55% shot. I still think the difference in power/experience would be a problem which is why I'm not going 100%. BTW I know it wouldn't have worked with this story but am I the only one who thought style and personality-wise In Jae was more compatible with him?
So I finally got around to watching Start-Up yesterday and to be honest I think the hate has more to do with the fact that people were stuck at home and stressed out because of Covid. Maybe I've watched too many Asian dramas but it was pretty obvious (I'm looking at you pink cherry blossom petal of fate) from the 1st episode that Nam Do San was going to get the girl. Why? Because he's the one who was honest about his feelings toward Dalmi and took actions to win her heart in ways she could understand. I understand SLS, heck I've even had it with some less than wonderful characters, (Over the Rainbow- Rex & My Lovely Girl- Shi Woo) but in this case, I don't understand why anyone would board much less go down with the HYP/SDM ship. In Reply 1988 I totally understood why people were heartbroken when my ship sailed. In this drama, I didn't buy the "I fell in love because I wrote to a school girl when I was 18*" BS. Was he inclined to like her once he sees her in person? Yes, but by not coming clean and introducing himself as her penpal he sunk his own ship before it had a chance to sail... and a chance was all it was ever going to be because the boy thought she was writing to was her age. By the time she meets him in person, he's a college-educated uber-successful 33 yr old businessman and she's a young 20-ish high school graduate who works part-time jobs. The power/age difference is too much for a young woman with her family history unless he had grandma on his side. When you see them together she always treated him as a mentor/teacher even after she found out HYP was her penpal. At any rate, while I'm tempted to inflate my rating because of all the 1 & 2's I've seen, I'll keep it real and give it an 8/10.
