Could you guys tell me how this has 3 endings? Is there one real one and 2 dream sequences?
None of them is the "real" ending. From what I understand the drama's endings differ from what happens in the original story where there was never an option for Peng Peng's soul to return to the modern-day body... Emperor Qi Sheng gets rid of his harem and makes Peng Peng his only wife. They stay on the throne for a few more years and have more children. Later he has an accident where he falls off his horse and dies. After the new Emperor is enthroned Peng Peng leaves the palace to a country estate so she can grieve in peace. While she's there three months after his "death" Qi Sheng shows up at the estate to surprise Peng Peng and they live the rest of their lives as "equals". There's some weird censorship rule that forced the drama producers to change the ending so the producers came up with different ones to make sure they had one that would get past the communist censors.
I want to watch this drama but I haven't been able to find it with Eng subs past episode 6. If anyone knows where to watch the rest of the episodes please let me know. I've been burned too many times with J-dramas to one without knowing that it's fully subbed. Thanks in advance. :)
So is there any particular reason why someone was sent into the game? or were they selected by random?
I think it's both. Some players were in the wrong place at the right time, but there are others that where chosen for sure. For example I think Arisu (Alice) was defiantly chosen but I think his friends were just unlucky to be in the same stall with him when he was moved to the game board.
Why is he only lead in those really long daily dramas? What about normal ones?
Probably because he shines as a character actor. Don't look down on the daily... 1. Because once become known as soap opera lead it's a good gig. Long daily dramas may pay less but there are more of them and it's a steady paycheck... nothing to sneeze at if what you want is to be a working actor. 2. Soap operas can be big fun. They have juicy characters, plot twists, and you get to make real friendships with fellow actors because soaps can last for a year or more.
So I think this was suposed to be funny but I just found it insulting and boring. The only good thing about the king is that he's the king. Wuyan is presented as "ugly" but of course she looks fine. I would have been more impressed if they actually had hired an "unatractive" actress and had her win the kings heart with her skills, wit, and political savvy. If you want to watch a better version of this story I sugest Zhong Wu Yan a modern-day version. The female lead in it is actually very beautiful but it does a good job of allowing the fiance a chance to grow and see Wu Yan as the woman who is worthy of love and loyalty.
I'm stumped at how clumsy the FL is despite supposedly being a star athlete lol
Don't ever watch the K-drama Boys Over Flowers then lol. The lead girl who is training to join the Korean national swim team almost drowns like 5 times.
Scenes where Americans speak English and Koreans Korean to each other look like a joke to me. Do the authors believe…
Weird that you should say that. My mom speaks English very poorly, but she understands it very well. She tends to mix English with elements of she native language when she speaks.
Is there an English version of this article?
