Yes give this one a try. This whodunit is on the level of those but it has a different feel. Both "Murderous Affair" and "The Long Night" cover some especially dark topics, surprised that both passed notoriously picky censorship. "Murderous Affair" entertains by telling stories told from different perspectives and in different creative ways. Admittedly there are some maybe plot holes and/or unexplained loose ends because the screenplay was greatly changed in adaptation from the novel, but the drama was such an enjoyable watch that those didn't matter. "The Long Night" is a good comparison because the investigation also hears conflicting stories told by different witnesses but was heavier throughout.

Oh yea I forgot about Su Yuan Yuan. I think she's still a step sister because I'm pretty sure Auntie reminded the dad that he has another daughter. I'm glad they haven't had a huge role so far...hope they won't be too intolerable if they come up again later.

I've only watched 14 episodes of the drama so far so maybe things change but ML is sooo good to FL and he doesn't let anyone cling to him. FL has no sibling in the drama and her family backstory is pretty different. Her father dotes on her.

The drama is so different from the novel. Based on your comments though, I think you will like the drama better

Agreed! I highly recommend including these three on any Taiwanese drama recommendation list. Too bad The Making of An Ordinary Woman doesn't have Eng subs
