It's more of a drama until ep 4-6 but WORTH IT!

So a misconception is that this will be full of action all the way through and fast-paced due to 6 eps, but I think that's where the brilliance lies the first 3-4 eps focus on the build-up making sure we all know who is who, their motivations and it's to build up the stakes and tension the final 2 eps I was literally sweating cause it was so intense and great. The action and acting are incredible. I mean look at that cast.

It was so well written! I love how morally grey and f*cked up the whole situation is seeing the male lead try to go for the lesser evil just trying to survive being tossed around and told to the beast that he became by the end, such a good character arc that he went through. The way he averts sticky situations will have you holding your breath, The pastor is no dumb typical villain stereotype either, he is literally suspicious of everyone and everything making it all the more exhilarating. The desperation and final scenes were so well acted, I loved that it was a long final fight without too many cuts or distractions between Kang and the villain. I don't understand why people aren't enjoying it, I would say just go in knowing that the character development and acting are top-notch. The china town leader is well-known in China for films, same with the ML in Korea so coming in for a short series they usually only pick high-quality projects and it shows

Furthermore, the cinematography. is beautiful, especially china town shots. It's also crazy to think it's based on a true story
Another plus is no characters feel out of place the back and forth with English which I believe is not dubbed over is great, they owned it and never made me feel cringe which I do with many actors forcefully using English. Even the foreign actors work cause they restrict their dialogue and it's much more subtle than those ugly rich jerks in the squid game.

Overall worth the watch and I believe is one of the best short Kseries Netflix put out in a while but for sure you will be disappointed if you go in thinking it would be mindless action.

THIS IS PEAK TVB! A+++

So I remember watching this vaguely as a 9 y/o w/ my parents, and 12 years later WOW I am BEYOND impressed. This drama is so well written, so full of intense moments. The golden age of TVB dramas was when their scripts and writing for complex characters were so intricate like this. Older dramas' stories really do shine brighter than many modern ones because it was more about the plot itself and the writing of the script that sold the dramas compared to beautiful faces and popularity now. The leads are SO CHARISMATIC, truly an IRREPLACEABLE PAIRING. That final episode was WOW, it's what so many modern dramas lack, a story that goes beyond the plot and current times, you see their entire lives. Everything truly went full circle the writers made me feel so many emotions, but truly was so addicted to this drama I took a day off and did nothing but binge haha! This is a must-watch for anyone who likes a drama with really great action, writing, characters etc. The family moments are so wholesome as well, everything is 100/10 if you ask me. I do wish it was 35 eps so we got more moments but still quite satisfied with it.

It was very real, the wartime struggles, just finding simple happiness in eating together really reminds you to cherish your loved ones and the present, at the end of the day so much money, wealth our care about outer appearance means nothing without having to share it with the people you love. The FL played by Sharon had my eyes glued to the screen, such a shame she doesn't act in too many dramas. The anger, anguish, desperation, love and loyalty in her eyes and same with Wayne is beyond words! The opening song is so EPIC and is forever stuck in my head now. Truly nothing but good things to say about this one! IT'S ON ANOTHER LEVEL!

A refreshing heartwarming Family drama

Despite the "weirdness" you have to deconstruct yourself from notions (mostly western) that highly sexualizes everything, with an open mind and thinking about it from the standpoint of a pure story this is a story about grief, and how a family heals after losing a loved one. A miracle happens where the mom appears with her memories in a girl's body. It's wild and crazy on the surface but it's SO INCREDIBLY acted (even more than many adults actors) it's INSANE the range the child actress can pull off, you really get sucked into the story and believe her due to her actions, tone, micro-expressions etc. And along the way as you get to know each family member and their stories and flaws more you just love everyone. This one has some really heartwarming scenes that had me tearing up, but also some light-hearted comedy thrown in. A good balance if you ask me, give it a couple episodes and you'll be addicted. It's hard to explain until you click play, truly a wonderful drama that I'm sure is risky but the pay-off is worth it. As a long time drama watcher (12+) years this is definitely a hidden gem and a wonderful delight to see and to think the child actress is only BEGINNING her career. JUST WOW GIVE HER MULTIPLE OSCARS this is so impressive honestly! With an open mind you will see the beauty of this drama!

P.S THAT OST is SO BEAUTIFUL

Good concept Poor execution

This drama has such a good concept and should at least be the typical bl drama length of 8 eps which most K-BLs always suffer from rushing anyways, I get that these are low budget dramas but if you're gonna do it, try to do it right. It cannot compare to other K-BLs that's doing it better sorry, It's still not the worst one I've seen which is good, but after completing it, feels like I couldn't care less about the characters. Sorry if you like BLs and you're new to watching dramas you might enjoy it a bit more, but for me who watched dramas over the past 10 years and support and like trying out new BLs this one isn't worth your time. Go watch Semantic Error or other BLs to see how you can make short eps work and feel natural.

Strong Start, Beautiful Production, Terrible Pacing and Mediocre Performances

As a long-time Yang Mi fan I was so disappointed, I feel like the best scenes we got from her was the archery and battle moments in the earlier half. The romance and longing plotline was basically all in her mind til halfway through, the performances were ok, not bad, but not their best at all. William Chan's flat hair was annoying at first but you get used to it and he goes back and forth between the bun hairdo and the longer one with the 2 side pieces. He's attractive, but it really diminished his beauty in some scenes. The music isn't the worst but after watching all the eps it barely registers in my brain and is not a stand out for sure. I feel like it's overrated because there's a lack of high budget costume dramas released this year, and after next year when a lot better ones air people will go back and be like yeah this is over rated, but I get how people are overly generous on this platform. I thought by far the 2nd couple's story was the most interesting, mainly just the Emperor's character. He's so interesting and intense, plus has the biggest character development

Not the worst drama but not the best. Am I harsh because I am a long time Cdrama viewer and now don't have the patience to sit through and enjoy dramas as I once did when I was newer and doe eyed? Sure, but even objectively this drama is a 7 at BEST. There's highs and lows, but in a couple of months I probably won't think twice about this drama, and any drama that I don't think about after it finishes is a BIG MEH to me. If you have nothing else to watch then by all means watch it, but don't go in with high expectations

WHOLESOME AND ADORABLE

Absolutely adored this!

I went in knowing it would be unique, entertaining and fun based on comments and reviews (which is rare for TVB/HK dramas on this platform since not too many people recognize them/review them) so I already had good feelings for it, but it really gets better than what is described by reviewers.

FAMILY IS EVERYTHING
- The characters here most all have their flaws in personality or makes some questionable decisions showing their humanity and I like them more for that, each family member gets their own scenes to really shine and it really works
- By midway through it really does feel like Bo is a part of the family and it's more than just her doing their chores and cleaning after them
- ep 29 is wholesome and hilarious (The "Thailand vacation" moment)

PLOT= PRETTY FAST-PACED AND INTERESTING
- I like that it shows both sides of the situation we have the developers of the AI who wants full control of their products and sees them as only tools to help society, but we also see the other side where there are families and individuals who truly love their AI as a part of their family and where the AI wants to do good, and be more than just a piece of control device
- Romance was well done here, definitely more a slow-burn natural friends to lovers for the main couple, there's a love triangle but I am not annoyed at all since I enjoyed Crystal Fung's scenes as well.
- Honestly, TVB did sci-fi really well here and I would love to see a S2 or a similar concept done. This is just right, not too over-the-top ridiculous but instead goes the more heartwarming route which I loved

ALI LEE IS DEF. THE MVP
- There are some scenes where she's killing it especially with the blank expression of her face like a doll the whole time she never breaks character, which makes for some hilarious scenes in social situations where the robot just doesn't adapt like us humans,
- This is a tin man but with a golden heart situation, where our girl starts to love and care for the family members, so many touching moments

Would I watch it again? Sure in a couple of years I feel like this would still stand the test of time even if TVB start making more sci-fi dramas

OBSESSED WITH THIS DRAMA

As a longtime TVB fan, I, unfortunately, keep seeing disappointing scripts or things that start off so good but does not end up delivering but this drama DIDN'T WASTE A SECOND. Very well written and the characters are all complex.

You really fall for the main cast of characters because they are so fleshed out, this is a bit different from the police procedural HK cop drama, there are episodic cases, but for the most part, there was a lot of care and set up in the script that. When I think about describing this drama in one word I would say "CHARACTERS" because each one has a very solid story and isn't just there for the sake of convenience which is something that bothers me a lot about dramas. It all ties together because the female lead of the brother-sister duo is a social worker, the brother is a slow learner in social and interpersonal relationships, but is incredibly gifted in other areas like math and tech. I like that the entire cast is accepting of the fact and doesn't baby him or look down on him. The other male lead probably with the most screen time is Kenneth's character as a psychologist and I really felt for him unable to move on from his wife's death.

MUSIC: the one track that plays every time Kenneth imagines his wife is SO CATCHY someone DM ME THE TITLE IF YOU KNOW PLEASE and thank you!

All the logic, the endings or stories of the characters all make sense, the dynamic of the main cast works as well. The brother/sister duo feels legit, and the romance and side plots do too. No one stands out as awkward in terms of acting or chemistry. Definitely underrated, but deserves as much praise as other dramas in the genre.

It was good but the writing got messed up

First of all I was absolutely hooked during the first 20 eps, the acting was good, music and costumes were great as well. However the love triangle is such an old trope that got annoying after a while. It was good but the last 10 eps had lots of writing issues and pacing issues. I still think it was worth finishing, I didnt hate it, but it was a bit disappointing.

I'm very impressed with the Duanmu Cui's actress since I've never watched her other dramas before, but she impressed me. She was badass, funny and cool. Darren's character was alright, nothing memorable except for him bejng a nice guy the entire drama. CGI wasn't bad so at least the budget made everything look good.

THE TALKING BOWL/CUP WAS ADORABLE though.
Probably wouldn't watch again, but it was decent overall.

IT'S UP THERE WITH KLUEN CHEEWIT

Out of all Mark's dramas this and Kluen Cheewit are the most impressive.

REASONS TO WATCH:

1. STORY
- It sounds like all rom-com thai dramas, spoiled girl meets guy, misunderstandings happen, they fall in love but NO. It's way more than that, deals with PTSD, and so much more!
- really a full circle drama, everyone has character development!
2. ACTING
- KAO IS in my TOP 3 Thai Actresses now, this is MINDBLOWING, seeing all her sides: Her crazy, her sweet side, her funny side, and her traumatized state. She's such a well-written complex character, hard to play and her eyes are so expressive.
- Mark Prin also keeps impressing me, Kluen Cheewit is my fav Thai drama of all time, and he never disappoints
- He's such a CONVINCING ASSHOLE, and then he flips the switch and I'm SWOONING
- THE ROMANCE MAKES ME SOFT. Their gazes are soft, their demeanour is so convincing.

3. BEAUTY
- Bless my eyes, everyone is beautiful in this drama

4. SCENERY
- THE FARM CASTLE is STUNNING, the flowers, fountains and Thai houses are NEXT LEVEL, paired with the nature a perfect setting
-the number OF SUNSET SHOTS WOW

5. FASHION
- There's a major white/pastel aesthetic going on, not over the top glam, but natural and pretty
(OMG I was dying over Ling's outfits, Paeng's too, so beautiful and elegant)

6. MUSIC
- THE OPENING SONG and that one sad theme song is the best!

Totally would rewatch this

One of the best time-travel dramas!

I AM A SUCKER FOR TIME-TRAVEL DRAMAS, but sadly there's only a handful that reaches my expectations because it's hard to tackle without getting too confusing and messy! But this one is GOOD REALLY REALLY GOOD!

HONG KONG DRAMAS WHEN THEY HIT, THEY HIT HARD! THIS ONE IS SO GOOD!
- I have always seen Vincent here and there in dramas, but this began my obsession with his dramas, this is such a hard role to nail, he does it all, from comedy or convincing jerk character to the sweetest in seconds! (It proves the range of this actor is big and he portrays all these different sides in one drama!)

SO GRIPPING
- SO I've watched over 600 dramas in the past 12 years, which means I usually can predict most drama plots, but this drama surprised me on multiple occasions
- It's fast-paced, the characters are endearing, and my favourite part? THE CREATIVITY!
-The plot is WOW!

Rewatchable? Yup! I rewatched half of it in one day recently with my parents, totally fun to watch with friends and family. Highly recommend this!

LOVELY CHARACTERS , FUNNY AND ADDICTIVE DRAMA!

I am SO IMPRESSED with Mandy Wong's acting! She really shines, I love all her 3 personalities.
Just like most people, I was confused by the title "Threesome" but it definitely makes sense since Evie has DID, 3 characters.

1. EVIE aka the BOSS
- She is dependable, hardworking, smart and cold on the outside but the truth is she's very vulnerable and has loads of self-esteem issue which triggers her other personalities
- She's so cool in court, she's the best in the law field and has a reputation to uphold
- Unfortunately, she lost all her childhood memories before age 10 (which is when she developed DID)

2. PINA COLADA aka. THE TROUBLEMAKER
- The name xD, Pina is an aggressive, extroverted character that does what she wants when she wants
-She's reckless, crazy, where Evie takes the high role and keeps quiet about her feelings Pina is strong and will SLAP you straight up!
-She enjoys living life spontaneously and is super fun to watch

3. MAK MAK aka The PRECIOUS PURE SHY ONE
- MANDY IS SO CUTE AS MAK MAK, she loves food, she's a crybaby and is scared of everything xD

BENJAMIN YUEN as Kai was impressive too! He makes the show enjoyable, he's caring and kind, but hilarious at the same time! I love the back and forth bickering between him and Evie!

I also really LOVE THE OPENING MUSIC, there's one English OST that plays during flashbacks to Evie's childhood which is nice too

However, I can't give this a 10 since the drama really starts to pick up at ep 8-9! The first eps were a bit slow. Definitely one of the best DID representations I've seen in Asian Dramas. It's pretty rare to see mental health in HK dramas, and I'm impressed!

TENS ACROSS THE BOARD

ACTING: Amazing, love the cast, so much tension and the chemistry between the trio.

PLOT:
-Fast-paced!
- INTENSE PSYCHOLOGICAL MOMENTS AND MIND GAMES
- Addictive! I keep finding myself clicking the "next ep" button!
- It's a bonus that both male leads are very good looking

SIDE PLOTS/CHARACTERS
- really well written
- Really liked Tony Hung's character arch
-Lots of little revelations that added to the story here and there
- The female lead's dad is hilarious and cute at the same time xD

REWATCH VALUE:
10/10 (this is actually a drama I rewatched, just as thrilling and addictive as the first time)

BEAUTIFUL, ICONIC, WATCH IT!

This drama focuses on 2 couples, one is more melodramatic, while the other is more cute/funny.

I have to say as much as I loved all 4 actors, Kevin Cheng and Niki Chow's storyline steals my heart, everything about the pair is so beautiful. I bawled my eyes out being so attached to the characters!

I noticed TVB dramas don't get enough love on this platform so here I am going through my list and reviewing dramas that left a big impression in my mind.

Honestly, this is super short and deserves a chance for those who are hesitating to start, just do it! One of the best Hong Kong dramas that focuses purely on romance.

A CLASSIC, NOT FOR BEGINNERS THOUGH

I would say Hong Kong Newbies might feel put-off by this drama if they haven't seen a couple of TVB family-based dramas before. I recommend checking out a couple of dramas with similar themes or cast before, you will definitely enjoy it more!

The story THRIVES in the CHEMISTRY and FAMILY RELATIONSHIP DEPARTMENT. It's so easy to fall in love with the main cast from episode 1.

Melodramatic? YES
The pacing isn't fast either, but I still love it more than part 2! I absolutely LOVE THIS CAST!

I rewatched it in 2020-2021 (a bit of episode here and there) and it's still great, but obviously, there is a HUGE gap in technological advances in the 2000s vs. dramas now. The editing is choppy, the background music is too loud and distracting from the story, but IT'S STILL WORTH IT! It's understandable why this can appear off-putting to non-long-time TVB viewers.

Music? THE OPENING SONG IS STUCK IN MY HEAD FOREVER.

Rewatch value- ENDLESS? I feel like this is the heartwarming family/melo-drama I want to show my kids in the future.

Good Acting Enjoyable Story

I needed a light-hearted drama and decided to put this on as background noise and was surprised by how much I liked it.
Mandy Wong plays a pregnant cop that is striving for her best for her baby. She really does the most and starts off on the wrong foot with the Nothing Special Force, but in the end, she grew to love them. Ben's character is super sweet and caring in this drama.

The cases are hit or miss, but since the force focuses on random cases, there is a good variety in this drama. Of course, the cases near the end are the most interesting.

Music-wise the theme song really matches the vibe, it's upbeat and fun!

My main complaint is the lack of romance. There was more focus on the side couple with Jacqueline and C Kwan's characters compared to the leading pair. I was a bit annoyed at first but ended up enjoying the second couple's storyline in the end too.

Overall, enjoyable watch!
