Mixed opinions about Euijeong and Junmo kissing others...but from what I saw Euijeong didn't like it, Junmo refused…
ML clearly didn't enjoy it. SFL even had to guide his hand to touch her. Lol.
As for FL, I think she acted like she enjoyed it cos how can she not act so if she was the one who said their meeting was destiny and she loves him (to convince him)?
So I think we can agree on the fact that the "romance" should have the least effect in a noir genre of this calibre…
I thought the writer is clever to include the relationship aspect. It makes the viewers emotionally vested and that's a strong hook. Not that I like it...it was intriguing until it got uncomfortable. But I have to say the drama is succeeding in using that hook as a hot talking point.
I was super worried for Yongdae during the fight I didn’t want my dude to get hurt… he’s not made for this…
Those scenes with Yongdae were a respite. But I keep wondering if his bumping into the police guy would cause any problems later. Hopefully he remains "blur".
Episode 8 was a big letdown for me because of the story development and characters actions. It wasn’t justified…
He didn't have sex with Hae Ryeon. I know what you're saying. But the way you write it here like that, we will soon have lunatics who did not watch the show running amok claiming this. Perhaps you could put your comment as a spoiler.
Does the clenched fist while kissing mean she was enjoying it or did she hate it
I think we can contrast with the scene where she kissed the ML. She looked happy and relax. I didn't get the feel she enjoyed being kissed by SML when she was younger...more like she went along not wanting to reject? IDK.
I was skeptical about how they would handle the death of the private investigator. I was worried they would cover it up with something illogical but they way they tell it as it is, I find it realistic. So while it is still sus to JKC, the plot didn't get stupid.
The actor playing Jeong Bae really impressed me. His scenes were raw with emotions and very moving. His dialogues were meaningful too. I remember him saying in an earlier episode that he fought very hard not to be caught so what happened to him in ep 7 really made me sad.
I read in so many places that after doing very average dramas JCW is finally doing a good one..I don’t get it.…
People who prefer to see him in action dramas/movies basically want him playing a strong, alpha male character. I first came across JCW in Healer cos so many people were raving about the drama and I actually dropped it initially. I picked it up again later and then went on to watch him in Empress Ki and that's the drama that sold me on his acting. Since then, I've watched his dramas and his acting really impressed me. He never looks the same and always owns the character. The script I thought was bad was MMS but other than that, the others are at least average or very good. I was most impressed with him in TSOM. I would watch any drama/movie with him because I want to watch him portray his character. It's such a feast! And in TWOE, I have to say he is slaying...so many different subtle expressions in just a minute. It's never OTT.
So I wonder now...in episode 4 &5, was it Seo who slashed Jung Bae's tire? Cos it looks like it was slashed deliberately. Could be done by the enemies of course but going by how Seo attacked Jung Bae in the lift, I wonder. Seo is sus. He could be the one who sold JKC.
Also, Jung Bae doesn't seem dead. I'm fearing for his return. JB is a sharp guy and he was able to see things JKC could not. JKC isn't smart. He's just very cautious and sentimental but he hasn't shown himself to be sharp. He's just driven by greed and ambition and it just happened he spotted a good opportunity to make money quickly. His gang has succeeded thus far mostly cos of his close friends who root for him in the gang. Even in fighting, he hasn't shown himself to be exceptionally strong.
I guess his character is written like that deliberately to draw some sympathy. But honestly, when I hear him talk as a teen, I don't like his character. All he wanted was to take short cuts to make money quickly. Money is not evil but the love of money is and we see what it has driven him to do.
One thing about the police station scene at the start of ep 7 when PJM was provoking the police officer...I thought some of the things he said about the police being no different from a thug sounded like he was talking about himself in his current situation.
Anyway, when a drama makes you think and anticipate, it's a good one. I don't know what to expect after seeing the end of ep 7 but I wonder if it'll be like the beginning of ep 4. PJM was made to shoot someone and we all thought he did but he got away. Whatever it is, it better be logical and not stupid or ridiculous.
Isn't it worse if the informant dies? How about discreetly saving him and , I don't know try to win him over.…
Yup yup...same thoughts. I'm so curious how this will pan out. About the papers...I don't know but it's quite realistic that the police might not have everything covered. This was the 90s and it sounded like it was the first time they infiltrated a gang in such a way. Let's see. Hope the writing will still be strong cos so far, they are able to answer most of the questions.
I could only watch ep 6 last night. I couldn't continue. Not that it's bad but it's too good. Each episode is like watching a crime movie and the buildup is so intense, it's making me anxious wondering what's gonna happen next. Some people say the plot is typical. Well, there is truth there. But the cinematography, the cast, the acting, and the emotional intrigue have leveled up the plot. I agree...this show deserves a 9 here.
As for FL, I think she acted like she enjoyed it cos how can she not act so if she was the one who said their meeting was destiny and she loves him (to convince him)?
*Everyone's falling left and right in the show and we're fainting left and right right here.*
