I've watched his videos about as long as the other one. But I guess that I am sheepish in wanting to hear what someone thinks about the drama. I don't have to agree but it either confirms my bias or provides food for thought.
I don't follow stuff on weibo or facebook or the bts. I've recently looked at threads on reddit, but the experienced pros and their shorthand use of abbreviations of the titles makes it a read only experience.

One clip has Xueman being knocked out and being forced to watch (is it Beiming being tortured or cured by the old doctor) But it seems to lead to her being carried in a prison cart. And Beiming coming to rescue her. So it seems to be setting up further drama.

Looking at the comments, there is a lot of love for WXY but by circumstances, he has to share lead time with Julia Xiang and screen time with an ensemble. imho

I think that one reason for the perceived lack of chemistry is that Beiming and Xueman are more guarded around each other and try to be more professional. Where as Dr. Fang and Huo Dairong are shown by longer looks and comments that they are attracted to each other. Xueman's looks are more brief and she cuts them off. I think that it is not the first drama where the second couple or second leads are allowed to show more.
I also think that Beiming and Xueman are aware that they are the leaders of this group. The scene in ep. 18, where Xueman tries to put on a brave face and has to run away before she shows too much and Beiming limiting his feeling to just a touch on her cheek. That's why I complained that the main couple were too stoic. Was it guilt that prevented her from clutching him in her arms and bawling at that point?

She was born in America. But some profiles have her as Chinese. Some Chinese American. AvenueX says that she is too modern for historical dramas. Her last live showed why she thought that Julia Xiang's acting was going in the wrong direction. Damned by faint praise. I still like Julia Xiang. I like her reviews, but think that AvenueX has seen too much and have become jaded. Some, maybe more fortunate, took at everything without expectations . imho
