Pretty sure they are filmed in the same location, since most of the Republican-era dramas are usually shot in Shanghai Chedun Movie Park, just like most of historical dramas are shot in Hengdian.

First episode looks good! I love the setting and styling, they all look very pretty *heart eyes* It is produced by the same company that produced Winter Begonia, so I can expect some beautiful cinematography. Will rewatch again once the Eng subs is out!

I read about this too, if this is true then it's very honorable of him. But I'm not too sure either, since asking the brands to terminate isn't it akin to putting nails on his own coffin, as general public will take it as confirmation that he did wrong and not worthy of being an endorser or public figure. Not to mention that he will have to pay huge compensation to the brands for the termination, which is like 20+ brands. But yeah, all brands dropping him in less than 24hours is really suspicious.

This is just so sad :( even Kris Wu with so many allegations in the past years didn't go down this fast. He already apologized and learnt from this mistake, I'm praying ZZH will get through this and come back stronger.

Just for your information, the similarity between drama and manga only up to when Adachi and Kurosawa got together, after that the scriptwriter needed to create original story since the manga hasn't caught up yet. I'm still following the manga since I hope they will continue the drama based on the manga story (believe me, the story is getting more exciting!). Even though, personally, I find that drama's Adachi and Kurosawa are more endearing than the manga version.

At least from the comments here, the issue with this drama is not the FL. I can't stand stupid and childish FL the most, so this FL is a breath of fresh air. The problem is more on the execution of the plot, it is very draggy with so many fillers. Looking at the synopsis, it'd be better to have 20ish eps rather than 42 eps. On top of that, so many annoying side characters, it's tiring to have to press FF button every 10 mins or so. I also couldn't buy on how they set up the toxic working environment. I know office politics and bullying exist, but here it's just over the top it looks childish and unprofessional.
I really did try to like this drama since the plot sounds interesting and for LYX, but finally gave up since there are more annoying things than the interesting ones. But it's just my opinion.

May I recommend you Cherry Magic, it's arguably one of the best BLs Japan ever produced so far and the first one that got popular internationally. It's warm and fluffy, non-toxic and overall healthy relationship. It's my top Japanese BL drama at the moment and probably for a long time :)

Yeah maybe that's how they looked like back then, but since this is a movie they surely can come up with better hair than that. Okita is usually portrayed as a bishounen, what a waste of Murakami's pretty face lol.

This is by far the darkest, bloodiest and most gloomy arc, where Hitokiri Battousai was at his peak of killing spree. My heart cries out for Kenshin and Tomoe T__T
Arimura Kasumi did quite well as Tomoe, even though I wish she would have more expressions during the final scene. Overall it is a good adaptation and my only complain is why they make Okita's hair so weird?? Even Saito-ojisan has better hair than him lol. And where is the iconic Shinsengumi's haori?
I also highly recommend watching the OVA Tsuioku-hen, it is truly one of the best and most memorable OVAs I've ever watched.

Dropping this after Ep 9. The pacing is too slow for my liking and it doesn't pick up even after almost 10 eps with so many fillers. Now we not only have the annoying doctor and the intern, but also the ML's junior story which I don't even care about. I doubt the pacing will improve later considering it still has a lot of eps to go and I'm running out of patience.
I came to not really care about the main leads, I understand the FL is smart and has strong views but she comes across more and more like a stubborn preacher. I usually root for a strong and smart women, but somehow I can't sympathize with her now. They also purposely make everyone in the office dumb and bitchy just to make things difficult for FL, it's just too much. I think it would've benefited more from having probably 20ish eps instead of lengthy 42 eps.
I'm sorry LYX, but I'll wait for your Immortality drama.

Don't worry, it's VERY popular both in China and internationally, very high rating in Douban and both Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun literally became famous overnight. It's doing extremely well considering the low budget and low expectation at the beginning.

Just looking at the casts, I can expect for some high class acting (except for AB). Hopefully the script and directing can do justice to these actors' skills.

Start this drama with an expectation of watching a thrilling spy drama (and for Luo Yunxi) but after 5 eps, it looks more like an office bullying and gossiping drama, nothing much going on in terms of the main storyline. So many fillers and unnecessary scenes, and the second couple is just so redundant and annoying. As for LYX, I haven't felt anything for him until now, not sure if it's because of his acting or the way the character is written.
The good thing is the FL is not the typical dumb and childish female, she is smart and have strong moral, which is pretty rare for FL in cdramas nowadays. And they have some nice winter outfits, I think I enjoy looking at their clothes more than the story lol.

I skipped them entirely. The moment they start shouting at each other in the hospital I know they're gonna be so annoying. What doctor will immediately assume that another doctor feed a diabetic patient sweet stuff just because she went out to buy milk tea? *smh

Impression from 2 eps, I haven't felt anything for either FL nor ML, both their acting are lukewarm and nothing exciting yet. Instead I find FL's boss to be quite attractive, she might have hidden motives, but she's a fierce lady boss. Can't expect much in terms of realistic portrayal of the profession, their office looks more like a fancy and glitzy boutique hotel than a research lab. Their "researchers" are so stylish they look like they work for fashion magazine and spend more time gossiping and discussing what to eat for lunch rather than working hard in the lab. I'm wondering how on earth they can come up with a breakthrough research?
There is a lot of fillers in Ep2, the doctor and his junior are so redundant, the junior is typical loud and childish female character, I skipped almost of their scenes.
On a good note, the fighting scene in the opening is quite good, I was hoping there could be more of it, but otherwise I'll just watch for Luo Yunxi, ahead of his upcoming Immortality drama.

Japanese stuffs are relatively more expensive, not to mention that this is a Blu-ray. I wonder why they didn't release DVD version which should be cheaper. I still bought it to support them since I loved this show so much! Just hoping that the proceed from the sales can support them to produce S2/special/movie :D
