Ok...I don’t know how to feel. The script writer and Director did a great job to give us the viewers, the ending…
I'm pretty sure they do that to get more money, since they know that pirated ones are flying everywhere so they need to grab the money while it's still hot. It's quite common thing in C-drama though. And for this kind of great show, I'm sure a lot of fans won't mind to spend a bit more money to show their appreciation for all the actors and crews for bringing such an amazing work.
Is there anyone watched this show today? How was it?
Watched half-episode raw last night, will continue again today. Japan usually does detective drama pretty good so there is not much to complain. Akaso did great, he is very cute though different from Adachi but just as cute ^^ Not sure if any subber has decided to pick this up, since it's kinda hard to fully understand criminal drama without any subs..
My last drama was Cherry Magic back in Dec, which I love to death and I was in a very bad withdrawal period for…
I will! There is so much hype about it I'll just have to check it out. I will also check out other BL-adaptation dramas this year, hope they will manage to reach our expectation since WOH has set such a high standard so early on.
When you first hit play on ep. 1 of WoH, did you think you would be so enthralled by a drama? Not me. I had just…
My last drama was Cherry Magic back in Dec, which I love to death and I was in a very bad withdrawal period for months. Tried to watch other BLs but none was as good. Heard this drama but didn't really have much expectation since there are too many crappy Chinese adaptation drama and Gong Jun's acting wasn't impressive in Advanced Bravely. Watched first 2 eps and the rest was history. Thanks to WOH I finally managed to crawl out of my withdrawal. But now I'm afraid I will go into another withdrawal period. I will miss Wenzhou a lot T__T
The popularity of WOH is not simply because of its BL/bromance contents. Its intriguing plot, interesting characters…
Very well said. Not to mention the abundance of Mary Sue-dramas, at this time and age... no wonder Chinese viewers are fed up with all those crappy dramas.
To be honest I was also first attracted to the BL content of this drama, but the more I watch it the more I get engrossed in the story itself. Not to mention the great acting from all the roles (main and supporting), no unnecessary fillers and most importantly, no stupid annoying female characters! All the female roles are unique and strong in their own way, not just some kind of damsel in distress needing help from the male roles. Kudos to the screenwriter!
I think the current Douban rating for Word of Honor is 8.6, which is like a otherworldly almost celestial level…
What was CQL rating before Ao3 case? I heard that many people went to Douban and gave 1-star rating to CQL due to Ao3 causing the score to decrease significantly.
FYI, there will be a special program broadcast on TV Tokyo on Mar 25 (at the same time with CM broadcast time)…
I also doubt there will be any new content but I will watch it anyway. You can watch the re-run on Tver, it will be available right after the Tv Tokyo broadcast.
Reading the comments, I saw that some users are very happy with the Douban rating for the drama. Even the production…
Douban is the biggest rating site in China and it is the one that is usually referred to by most Chinese viewers and the entertainment industry people, therefore Douban rating is very important to them. I've been following Douban for sometimes now and I know that Chinese viewers are very harsh on their rating especially on C-dramas. As Skibbies mentioned, 7+ rating is good drama, 8+ is great drama and above 9 can be considered masterpiece. I haven't seen many C-dramas scoring above 8 recently, therefore 8.6 point is a huge deal for any dramas, especially WOH has been rated by more than 280K viewers.
FYI, there will be a special program broadcast on TV Tokyo on Mar 25 (at the same time with CM broadcast time) which will feature glimpses on the main story and spin-off episodes. I also read that Machida will make appearance, looking forward to it!
I have to say I'm impressed with Li Dai Kun's acting as Scorpion King, not only he looks beautiful but he also exudes a very dangerous aura. Knowing that he was the original cast for WKX, I can't help but being curious what kind of WKX he would've portrayed. I'm sure he will bring a different kind of WKX as compared to Gong Jun's, but just as amazing.
I watch a lot of dramas. So far, WoH has had no draggy/filler eps., no unnecessary misunderstandings, no unneeded…
I'm with you. I usually struggle a lot to get through drama with many episodes, but this is one of the rare ones that keeps me engaged every episode. Heck, even 45 mins feels like 15 mins! If the plot and pacing remain consistent until the end with happy ending, it will earn full score from me.
Not sure if any subber has decided to pick this up, since it's kinda hard to fully understand criminal drama without any subs..
