I'm with Foreigner -- I was hooked only few minutes into the first episode. I just loved everything about it --…
It seems that many people got hooked right from the start. Ep 1 is indeed excellent to get people interested and kudos to Director Kazama :) Well, I was still more lucky than you then, I found this gem not long after Ep 2 aired, less painful waiting ^^
(´~ヾ) hmmm~~~ let's see....I honestly can't remember why I got hooked to CM. I discovered this drama by watching…
That's interesting. Akaso and Machida also mentioned that filming that "mind reading" part is the most difficult one, they have to practice many times to get them right. And the final result came out wonderful thanks to their hardwork. Yup, I agree that reading the BTS, interview and also finding out about the little details of this drama also made me fall in love with it more. And this comment section too, it made the whole experience exciting and unforgettable. Thanks for sharing :)
The moment Adachi started introducing himself in episode 1. He says "by the way, this is me at 29 years and 364…
Wow, you got hooked pretty fast :D Most people will fall in love with Adachi right from the 1st ep (me included), so thanks to Akaso who brilliantly portrayed such a cute and adorable character.
no good with words but share it abyway I must admit I was tempted by tumblr gift by mr Akasa's sweet bambie eyes…
Thanks for sharing! it's interesting to see that different people is hooked at different points, which says alot about so many good points in CM. Yes, that rainbow folder scene is also one of the important scenes, that's the point where Adachi finally realized how serious Kurosawa is and gathered his courage to step forward. I wasn't a big fan of BL dramas to start off with, and after CM it got worse since I started to compare everything with CM and most of them failed to reach that standard... *sigh*
They are such a cute couple ^^ yeah, Priest is always very unpredictable when it comes to the dynamic of her couples. Imagine my shock when I found out who is the wife and who is the husband in Guardian XD
I've been curious for a while, but is there some points in this drama that got you hooked to it or got you to think that this is a special one? Let me start first. I first thought nothing of this drama, and thought that this is likely to be similar to other Japanese BL dramas, which in my opinion, not the best one in terms of story or acting. I watched the first episode and the first thing that struck me was Adachi's smile in Kurosawa's fantasy at the end of Ep1. I was mesmerized and thought OMG, his smile is sooo sweet!! I also start noticing his small gestures and eye movements, which are very cute. But the thing that struck me the most and got me addicted to CM next is Machida's acting. I have to admit at first I didn't find him very attractive, I thought he looks a bit old (compared to Akaso). But after re-watching elevator scene in Ep3, I first noticed his micro-expressions when he went to heaven (lol) after being invited by Adachi. The way his expressions gradually changes really left deep impression to me. It was then I thought that this drama was special and nothing like the others. I was correct, each episode is getting better and better, and Machida is getting more and more mabushii ^^ Fellow CM fans, let me know your experience :)
My Review of this dramahttps://www.nosleep4dramas.com/post/jdrama-review-cherry-magic
Glad you love it too and thanks for such a nice review :) I absolutely agree with you that one of the things that made this drama special is that it's not only about love story, but it also tells you that it's OK to have insecurities, how you learn to accept it and overcome it, and grow to become a better person. The fact that they can put in so many valuable lessons in just 24mins- 12 eps show is amazing.
Let me make this statement clear, although there are a lot of bad reviews here, you can't just say that a person…
Fair enough, and thank you for giving a balanced opinion. In my opinion, this is a comment section where everyone can give comment based on what they watch and feel, so that's what I did. But you're right that no comment is right or wrong so everyone is free to decide whether to watch it or not after reading the comment. As for giving the drama more chance (aka watch more episodes), I'm sorry but I couldn't watch anymore of this that made me want to throw my laptop out of the window and yes, my comment is based on what I have watched so far (which is terrible).
I coincidentally took notice of this in episode 4 too. They forgot to apply make up on his neck in some scenes…
I noticed it especially during his scenes in the car, it's like they forgot to retouch his make up lol. And the shooting angle in CM is also better imo, Machida has high cheekbones so if the angle is not good his face can look very angular. I noticed CM has a lot of his shoots from the side, which is his best angle and he looks really stunning from that angle.
Ok, despite reading all the bad reviews here, I tried to watch 1st ep and YES you guys are RIGHT!! I was so pissed I couldn't even finish the whole episode. There are so many sins committed already:
1. I hate this Anzu's type of girl the most. Isn't she supposed to be a capable senpai in her workplace? But she acts like a high school girl trying to look cute around guys. If you want to know what a capable worker is look at Shinohara Ryoko in Anego or Kanno Miho in Hataraki Man!! And she acts so submissively when being harassed by the guy, while normal women probably would've slapped or kicked his ass. It clearly mimics the pattern of Japanese AV, where women are often portrayed like this. 2. Those two hot guys are trash. Not to mention Kuroda who is a total a**hole (borderline rapist imo), but the other guy who looks like a gentleman initially is also a jerk. Please give women some respect, will you??
I was curious of this drama since it ranked high in TVer (Japanese re-run streaming site) so apparently many people watched it. Come on Japan, it's 2021, your BL drama (Cherry Magic) has progressed so far to create a healthy and respectful relationship, but then there is a BG drama like this... And yes, please listen to the other reviews here, they are totally right and save your precious time. Too bad there is no 0 rating, I'd gladly rate this 0/10.
The episode is getting better and better, the acting of the guest roles are top notch, especially in Ep4, I got goosebumps all over. This is a warm drama that is carefully made. PS. Forgive me for unconsciously comparing with Cherry Magic, but I feel Machida's make up here is inferior to the one in CM, he sure has a great skin to start off with, but in CM he is really blinding (literally) while here sometimes his skin looks a bit oily.. -___-
first of all, why is this lil series getting so much better with each passing episode!! i don`t know why but episode…
Agree, I thought ep 2 is already really good but ep 3 hit differently. As the drama's theme, it's a drama that tells human story, it's simple but feels close to the audience.
5.5 rating?? is it that bad? lol. Haven't watched it yet, but from the picture and manga cover already gave some hints about the story, I mean just look at the girl's big chest...
what would you recommend from them? I'v not watched anything before and this is great! light or dark-I'm ok with…
You mean their past works? For Machida, I'd recommend Alice in Borderland (survival games, very dark), Bijo to Danshi and Joshi-teki no Seikatsu. In other works, his appearance is rather sporadic, not enough to know his characters. As for Akaso, his works is much less than Machida, but he first got recognition in Kamen Rider Build and his last movie, Furi Fura (Love Me, Love Me Not). Do try watch them :)

Thank you Youku!

A short BTS video from Akaso's Weibo live, he drank water secretly few times during the live. How come he is sooo cute?? XD
