I finally mustered up my courage and watched eps 11 and 12. It wasn't nearly as painful as I had been led to believe!…
Probably because you watch ep 11 and 12 in one go, so it didn't hurt that much? For most of us who watched it live, it hurt because we were left on such cliffhanger for the whole week.. and seeing Kurosawa's face like that..T_T
They really need to do "Elevator Love Story" spin-off. A lot of important moments happen in the elevator. I suspect it has a matchmaking magic. We need to put up a shrine to worship it along with Udon-sama.
Thanks for sharing ^^ This is for those reading this comment unaware of the terminology, from wikipedia: ''Gray…
I can't say it in a better way than what you've just described. I saw a comment on Twitter which basically said whether there is kiss or not, there will be people who will still be dissatisfied. So what is the so-called "perfect ending"? I can't agree more.
Its sad we never had that chance to hear Kurosawa call Adachi by his first name. Even in the SP. Adachi still…
Lol I don't think he hates it, it's such a beautiful name. Even if he hates it, Kurosawa loves it to death XD Come to think of it, why Minato introduced himself with his first name? It's really uncommon.
Thanks a lot for researching this. I was also thinking of looking at TV Tokyo's past BLs to see if I can find…
Oh I haven't seen that one yet. I only see the 2018 version and the movie. Somehow this one didn't attract me. But I'll try to give it a go, just to distract me from CM separation anxiety XD
Fun stuff: On the night of finale broadcast, Akaso tweeted with a hashtag #清この夜 (Kiyoshi Kono Yoru), which is the Japanese title for "Silent Night". Director Kazama replied "I knew you will say it". As you know, Adachi's first name is Kiyoshi and I always thought he kinda gave spoiler of what would happen in the finale, since the literal translation of the tag is "Kiyoshi - this night". For Kurosawa this is definitely what happened in that night :) It seemed to be a perfect coincidence, but the amount of "coincidences" in this drama has blown me away.
Note: I always thought the name "Kiyoshi" is very beautiful, not only it sounds nice but also it means "pure, clear" which fits Adachi's characteristics.
Am i the only one thinking that the elevator (-kiss) was iconic? I wonder how many takes it took them to get that…
I like your point of view. In fact some fans also share the same opinion. The door closed just in time, so that no other people can see Adachi's expression while kissing, just like Adachi's "yumm" only belongs to Kurosawa. Knowing Kurosawa's possessiveness, it really makes sense hahaha.
I don't understand the references to Exile. Is it a band or a management agency? TIA and too lazy to research.
All entertainers in Japan belong to agency, I never known of anyone going solo unless they have grown so big like Exile they can establish their own agency. I guess that's how it works in Japan. And for the no gay pda, there is never a confirmation of this, since the other actor belong to the same agency as Machida did a M/M kiss before in a drama.
Alright I've done some research into TvTokyo's (broadcaster of CM) past ventures with BL. As the past shows of…
Thanks a lot for researching this. I was also thinking of looking at TV Tokyo's past BLs to see if I can find some patterns, so I'm glad you did it. Maybe it also helps if we can see their dramas of similar genre (rom-com) but for hetero couples, and see how much skinship they have, just for comparison. You keep mentioning about similarity with OL, now I noticed it. In fact, I thought that CM ending is much better than OL. In OL, it was a 1 year wait and I didn't get the fact that Haruta accepted his boss' advances after that. Viewers may also find the final confession scene felt rather rushed. Even the ending scene also very similar to CM (except the lack of real kiss). But the Japanese audience overwhelmingly were happy about the OL ending, so I'd like to assume the same for CM.
For your separation anxiety, You can listen to our CM community playlist on spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/playlist/3ocyMGx2aE1rMGgbMa17HO?si=gdnVhe8MSZe-Dx6SaSxjQAThank…
I was looking for the right term for it, yes separation anxiety! That's what I'm feeling right now. Thanks for the Spotify list!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bqUWbwcUbc For anyone who hasn't seen it, it's CM promotional video by Tsutaya. It's quite long 13 mins, and contain summary of main story and spin-offs (spoiler for those who haven't seen the spinoff). It's pretty interesting with short interview of Akaso, so anyone interested can watch it.
It's stupefying me that CM is now in my completed category! My serotonin my stress reliever is gone! I don't have…
I'm tearing up T_T thank you also for sharing your love for Machida-kun! I enjoy all the videos and materials that you shared here. I still remember how excited we were when Machida suddenly did the IG live yesterday (even though I missed it T_T). I still can't bring myself to rewatch Ep12, I fear I will tear up again. It was fun to meet you, and I know since you're a big fan of Machida-kun, we will meet again on his other project ^^
I can't agree more.
