No matter who plays Jing, I would not care for this character. I zoomed through his part. Personally DW charisma…
Yeah, I think the character definitely doesn’t allow for much variety of expressions, and considering his “essence” is to remain the good nice boy no matter what life throws at him, I don’t see how anyone could make him interesting. Though it would be interesting to see different portrayals.
Some fans were a bit upset when it was pointed out that he is what cinema and screenwriting considers a plot device, but that’s essentially what he is. His function in the greater scheme of things is to provide the heroine with the goal she has fought for her entire life, i.e. to not be abandoned ever again.
Anything that exceeds that would require further character development, which Tong Hua did not provide for him.
It's funny now Yaojing back and some people who don't like jing, blaming DW cus they didn't like Jing's character.…
You have mentioned something very interesting. I will forever be curious to see another actor playing this character, which I find utterly detestable in all its good boy glory.
Maybe if they one day remake this, even in another country, just as Scarlet Heart was remade in South Korea, it will be a chance for me to see if the problem is with the acting or the character itself. I’m afraid in this particularly case, it’s a combination of both, but yeah it’s unfair to compare him to Cang Xuan and ZWY.
Xiao Yao, Xiao Yao. Why are you crying so much over the loss of your dear “friend” Fang Feng Bei? Why are you grasping that bow so tightly, eh?
You only have the fox in your heart, isn’t that what they say? So why does it matter that the bad mean demon has said so many harsh words? Who are all those tears for, uh? The good ol’ crying at a closed door never fails 😌
I know TSJ is the best partner for XY as he's willing to do anything for her. But, his character and the actor's…
He’s arguably the least impactful character because his sole purpose is to live and die for her and fit the “companionship” requirement she has. But yes it’s so hard to warm up to him. Which is odd considering he’s supposed to be “the good guy”, husband material endgame 🥴
When compared to Cang Xuan and Xiang Liu, it’s almost painful to watch this.
That’s interesting. I unfortunately wasn’t aware of this story before watching the drama, but I am quite sure…
That’s a very weird poll. Xiang Liu has always been the favorite character. So when they announced that Tan would be playing him, people were not convinced he could pull it off. No actor wanted to play Jing because he is a very pitiful individual even in the book. It seems that the drama even made Jing more popular somehow. Very curious.
Lol, every six months or so they change the main lead for this. Zheng Yecheng, Deng Wei, now Tan. Tan isn't confirmed for this either. Bring on the next guy! 😹
Nah, it's fun to ship characters and such, but they're both real people with real lives. Real-life shipping causes…
Si Ming is just a melon, and Tan hasn't been confirmed to be part of the cast. But he has several others to be released soon, like Go East, which will probably be aired in August :)
Yeah, international LYF fans taking shifts to be here🤣😍.
It's like a job hahaha. Though I've been slacking off because of my real job. But it's nice to keep up with the friends we've made thanks to these threads :)
I need for TCJ and YZ to date in real life lol 😂 that way I can be at peace with this show 😂
Nah, it's fun to ship characters and such, but they're both real people with real lives. Real-life shipping causes more problems for the actors' careers than you can imagine.

Interesting, very interesting 🧐😌
