Watch go ahead instead.

Our secret had so much potential to become a touching and emotional story that would have always remained in my heart (something like 'go ahead') but it really MAJORLY lacks in almost all aspects.
The first few episodes had me addicted! It was so beautiful and ugh the charecters were adorable.
But um i have alot of problems in the fundamental thoughts they tried to convey in this show:
- the portrayal of the arts stream is SO BAD. They treat it as though arts is something that people who want it easy take, conforming to the social norms. They state multiple times that "only few students take arts" " girls should only take arts" "science is too difficult for woman". This is in 2021, not 1800s.
- the female leads reason for choosing her stream is her ego. She wants to prove to everyone that she can do science. Even though it sounds so inspiring,it really isn't because shes literally not passionate about any science, nor does she have dreams to do science, she's not even good at science. She's literally an artist !!! Her other reason is all her friends took science.
- Male lead does everything in his power to "protect" the female lead even though she can literally do things herself. He puts his career at risk to do this too. The norms of men proposing, men buying the ring, men always paying, men not feeling cold at alllll is further amplified not in a subtle way.
- the female lead does CRAZY things for love. She literally does not care about her career for around 15 episodes and tries to do everything the male lead does(as he's the genius) by taking a break year to study in the same University and even join his research team???? When she finally realises her importance suddenly she's getting all these arts offers after doing a degree in computing. SO UNREALISTIC. Yll really think getting a job in an area that's not your major is easy? No matter how talented nobody hands out contracts to a fresh graduate from ANOTHER major. This is setting such crazy expectations that happens irl only in RARE cases.
- many scenes make no logical sense. He's poor but lives in such a huge apartment in the middle of the city? All three leads be crashing random meetings? A Start up working in so many industries? I could name so many things!
-the mom's charecter has SO MUCH EGO. Even though she's the adult, the female lead is expected to "not get mad at her" or be respectful because she "doesn't mean it". That's such a sick mindset because adults are the ones that need to be mature and not treat thier children like shit.
The leads were cute in the first few episodes but their chemistry gradually deteriorated. The show dragged the high school part quite alot. I skipped way too much even in the end of the show.
Another thing I thought could have been done better is at how they started the show with the fact that "shit happened", that made me wait for shit to happen because i knew it would and made me enjoy the show less.
The acting is pretty good, i don't have any complains in any other aspect except for the writing and the ideas presented in the drama which would leave the watchers with unrealistic expectations about life and career. Even thier relationship is low-key super unrealistic. I finished this show learning absolute nothing and gaining no insights on anything in life.
Highly not recommended.

fluff!! perfect for a one time watch

Chinese dramas always have the weirdest plots especially around animals and I'm really not complaining! This is one of the good ones.
The show description looks like it's gonna be childish but they really made it work, somehow this show was pretty interesting and full of fluff. It's nothing too life-changing but perfect for a one-watch. The story has a few flaws here and there. But overall it makes it fun and cute throughout.
The relationship of the leads is so cute! I love how the female lead learned things quickly. The male lead was also kinda different from what is usually seen, his character development was nice to see.
There are no parts where I was bored or felt annoyed per se, which is great. But the fact that the drama is kinda hollow and doesn't do justice for some parts of the storyline is what leads me to reduce points. There are also some tropes thrown in when the writer got nothing else to write about.
Inconsistency in the storytelling was so evident which made me a bit confused about the story.
I love the actors! They all did so well especially the female lead. She's extremely pretty and a human "cat" character suited her very well! The casting is very well done.
The osts are all pretty and relaxing! I enjoyed hearing them.
Overall a good watch. Would recommend.

a very refreshing romcom

This show is light, fluffy, and fun. It seemed like it's gonna be nothing too deep, but in its own way it teaches you a lot and touches up some social problems along the way.
The drama started off extremely well, I was enjoying their dynamics and the situations they were thrown into. I thought the main couple had amazing chemistry! The female lead's character was very different from your average female lead. She was open, expressive and always communicated her feelings. Very refreshing if you ask me!
The humor in the drama was very entertaining. The relationships of the leads with others were very cute! I loved the friendship of the female lead and her friends. I like how normalized women and men being friends are shown.
The issues of treating women as objects were unexpectedly touched on, I was quite impressed.
The couple had a very healthy relationship, always conveyed their feelings, took consent, and were very respectful to each other. This is a rare concept in the drama world.
Seonwoo's character development was the best part of the drama, I also loved doyeon, who always brought a smile to my face. The siblings were cute.
Kang Hana who played a completely different character in start-up, did a 180° change, this role suited her so well, I loved her character! Her relationship with the do jae jin was fun too!
The casting was really well done, the actors all did a great job. Osts, especially the one sung by Jeong Se Woon was a whole new world, it's so magical.
Now, on to the nitpicking. The chemistry of the leads progressively reduced. Her calling her "sir" when they are dating?? It is the most awkward thing I have witnessed in my life. Also, them dating as professor/student was so uncomfortable for me, that was the point I started to nitpicking.
Their chemistry from super refreshing and cute turned into a business relationship. I really didn't feel much by the end of it all. Though there were some cute things here and there that saved the ratings.
The storyline also started dragging a little, with some boring aspects that I ended up skipping.
Overall a fun drama, I'd recommend it for someone looking for something light.

No substance, very frustrating

This drama was made with great aspirations of the writers to make it as close to reality as possible. But I'd say, they failed, pretty badly.
It starts off with a nice concept of "taking interviews" which I thought was interesting. But no matter how much I think this interview was the most illogical and far from reality concept ever. Did these "interviewers" go around interviewing the whole of Seoul? If they didn't try to explain the phenomenon of the interview I would have let this slide. But every character was told about what others said..it was a mess. The way they tried to explain the interviews was what made it overall dumb. Let's just say I'm nitpicking, but other than this was there no problems? Nope, there were.
The whole show had no substance other than one man crying over why she left and another crying thinking about how she hates herself and needs to punish herself and him for her shortcomings, not even explaining to him. This concept is pretty common in dramas but the problem is that's the main concept of the drama. It was just frustrating and annoying.
The second couple were cute, they had their moments. But they went and ruined it in the end.
*spoiler alert*
Let's just say the open ending isn't the problem but the fact that she was being super illogical and I completely support the second male lead in the matter about why they broke up.
The 3rd couple was just ¿¿¿¿¿ like what was going on I have no idea. They did so many illogical things unprovoked.
The couple in the first few episodes had chemistry, they were kinda cute. But um talk about an unrealistic relationship, suddenly he loves her and then they marry??? Like wtf??? And then she runs away?? All in like a month or two. Even though I know she has a reason, I hate the whole concept. The show is such a mess istg.
Another problem is how I never related to any of the characters especially the women, they did dumb things unprovoked. The men were more bearable, but no one was interesting enough for me except maybe goan.
We also had minho on the show, I really didn't get his purpose honestly. Suddenly when the writer had nothing else to talk about, we saw almost the whole episode with minho. I could see the writer struggling with absolutely nothing to write about.
The best part of the show was the scenery and the way it was shot. I love the filters too. It also had some interesting music sung by some great artists which were nice.
The point about different relationships and how people love was what the writer was trying to convey, that point was interesting, but the way it was presented was awful.
There were some cute and funny scenes here and there that made up for the mess like 20%.
But the show is pretty bad.

Inspiring woman and cute relationships between each character

Moonlight shows the story of a high spirited, hard working woman who dreams of working as a book editor in a famous yet old publishing house.
The best part of the story is the female lead. She's unstoppable and never gives up. She puts her dreams first and does everything to achieve it. Her character is so full of life and inspiring. Her work ethics are so ideal and she always sticks to them. On top of all that shes extremely beautiful and cute.
The close second best thing is the bromance, the two male leads have the cutest bromance ever, they're always looking for each other to express every problem they face and claim they hate each other lol gotta love them. I really love how petty they are to each other and how they help each other when ever they can.
The show is full of fluff, it has a few cliches here and there, but they dont really bother you much.
The work side of the show was very interesting, I loved watching her grow and stand up for her authors, always supporting and never giving up on them.
I really liked the authors stories and even the story of the female boss of the female lead.
Now onto the negative aspects of the show, the male lead is lowkey possessive, extremely petty and I wouldn't say I really liked him as a character. His personality is something I dont find attractive. Sometimes he was just annoying and I didn't understand why the female lead likes him so much.
Some of the work problems faced by the female lead was many times solved with the help of the male lead and that lowkey bothered me.
The second lead's relationship was a mess, they went off and on so many times I wanted to fast forward many parts. Sometimes there was no logic to thier decision and I was just confused.

Overall the show was pretty entertaining and cute, I enjoyed watching it and would recommend it when you're looking for something light.

A very insightful and inspiring show

Start up is a drama that I enjoyed watching every second of. It was well paced, inspiring and satisfying in every aspect.
The point of the show doesn't lie in the romance, that's something I didn't even think about unlike the millions of people on the internet putting themselves in teams about who deserves her. I was more worried about the other aspects of the show. It is rare that the other parts of the show are so much more interesting than the romance.
The show first of all shows the process and problems of starting a business in detail. It shows the society losing trust in you including your family. It shows how hard it is to actually start a business.
The concepts brought out in the show are straight out of entrepreneurship textbooks. The idea of "sandbox" was extremely interesting. I think this show will really help someone who is planning on starting a business. It's rare that a drama can be that insightful.
The pacing of show along with perfect titles and definition of concepts was a very interesting, there was not one time where I was annoyed or bored of any character or scene.
The characters were all lovable and leave a huge impression. The female lead is hard working and works her way up with not much family support or college degree. The second female lead works with her insecurities, ego and guilt and comes out as a more competent and confident woman. The male lead also goes through a similar change in terms of finding himself and his strengths. The grandma's role was so heartwarming along with second male lead. They were the ones that made me cry the most.
"Money" and "choices" are huge underlying concepts in this drama. It shows how small decisions can change your life and bring more problems and benefits, no choice can be right or wrong but have thier own consequences. Also that no person's life is a bed of Roses.
It also brought out many dilemmas in terms of technology and people and the middle ground that must be maintained. Some of the points put across by the characters really made me see different perspectives.
The show is a visual treat, the scenes are shot so beautifully along with some filters here and there. The music that plays throughout the drama is beautiful with songs from some of the biggest artists like red velvet, gaho, Jamie, bol4 etc. The list has not one average song in it. The acting too is really good as expected, the casting is perfect.
Overall I really enjoyed this and would recommend it.

Masterpiece focusing on many social problems, very insightful

Move to heaven is a 10 episode drama its shorter than most dramas but the impact cannot be compared to other dramas.
This drama is one of the few that I actually binge watched, I finished in less than 2 days, which is very fast for me. I watched it all the time except the time I was eating or sleeping.

First of all the topic of the drama itself puts it in another level compared to other dramas. Death, a taboo topic not brought up in everyday conversations. Death can happen alike to the young and old though more to the old, this drama covers both, extensively. Death due to old age, illness, accidents, murder etc. Are all covered.
This show depicts a autistic teenager and his father who help cleaning up after the death of a person. They clear up thier belongings and try to understand the life of the deceased by observing. Learning stories through the objects they left behind and helping the ones left behind to move on while understanding the feelings of the deceased.
Autism is very well depicted and acted out. All the actors did exceptional jobs at portraying their characters too.
The storyline is written so well the writer definitely has earned a new fan. The stories are all complex, including many layers that are unearthed slowly. It doesn't just look at death but many other social problems like adoption by foreigners of koreans, the question of right to die, old age problems, homosexuality, toxic relationships to name a few. These problems especially the problem of old age is something I hold close to my heart, so I felt this deep in my heart. Such a huge spectrum of problems covered in a drama is rare, but move to heaven did it, not just did it, they did it exceptionally well and also brought in tears to your eyes every few episodes.
The show also showed the life of the main characters, I really enjoyed the backstory which was naturally brought in by the writer and also loved the way the relationship of the uncle and the nephew developed in time.
The nephew's character is actually the best character, he's so caring and kind in his own way I always feel empathetic and attached to him.
The lack of osts is the only flaw I can find in this masterpiece, but it really didn't matter because I didn't even realise until I searched for osts and found classical music instead, which only introduced more music, so I'm not mad.

This is a drama I recommend everyone to watch, it'll change your life.

Very insightful, cute and fun for the most part

Mad for each other is a surprising good drama especially because I didn't expected much from it. It surprisingly was very insightful.
It revolves around the story of a woman who is diagnosed with delusion and a man who suffers from pted (aka anger, aggressive behaviour in reaction to negative life events especially if they think its unfair to them). This aspect itself sets it apart from the rest of the dramas that never showcase such topics. A life of a person with delusion is shown so well, it was so heartbreaking to see the female lead suspect everything including herself. But pted wasnt so well shown, his problem was mostly ignored except the first few and last few episodes.
The reasoning of why both of them are the way they were was satisfying to watch especially the female lead. The female lead's story was so well portrayed and really made me empathize with her.
It clearly showed how mental illness affects the life of people, such clear portrayal is literally never shown in a drama. You could see how positive bright, hard working and competent the leads were before the illness. It showed clearly that mental illness doesn't just "go away" if you just "stop being sad, stop worrying, stop being anxious " and how much work you need to actually put in to treat yourself.
The drama also touches upon personal choices of how a person likes to present themselves.
The chemistry of the leads and how the relationship develops is really nice to watch and they're super cute together. The acting was pretty good along with iconic looks like flower behind the ears and sunglasses, will never forget it!
The osts were all good too I'd probably come back to them.
Now this was gonna be a 9 or 9.5 rated drama for me but then 11th episode happened and things started to go downhill. Literally all the hardwork the writer put in to build such a great plotline was lost by the ridiculous progression of the story.
From 11th to finale, the show was a mess with no logical reasoning, no problems solved, and rushing of the story like the writer didn't know how to proceed. We had random car chasing like its mission impossible, some random arguments, random singing on the street etc. The ending was happy but it didn't give me the satisfaction the first 10 episodes gave me.
Mad for each other is a small drama with 13 ep of around 40 mins, it is quite insightful and I think it is worth it though the ending is not so well done. I recommend it.

So not worth it is a small show, it's cute, fun and enjoyable. Best when u are stressed and want to just relax.
So not worth it is not complex in its story or its characters, they're both basic but the show has some kind of charm. The fact that we have a bunch of foreigners speaking korean is quite refreshing. This show is very disney like, made me a little nostalgic. It has a bit of waikiki vibes in its humor. All around its enjoyable.
The osts and the bgm were are cute and I would definitely go back to some osts.
The fact that it is basic and has nothing special to it is the reason why it's gotten some points cut. Some scenes were lowkey annoying and dumb but nothing too bad.
It's a cute drama to binge watch in a day!

family centric slice of life, didn't particularly enjoy it

Reply 1988 - 4/10
Reply 1988 is a relaxing show that is meant to be enjoyed on an evening with tea. It is something to watch with friends and family as nothing serious happens, it's a slice of life really close to reality.
Slice of life is one of my favourite genres, but did I enjoy this show? Nope. Because this show is stagnant. It's a plateau where NOTHING HAPPENS. it starts off well, it had me captured for the first few episodes because it showed alot of social background of people's lives in 1988 then I became indifferent towards it in the middle and almost wanted to drop it. The ending was pretty nice too, but not for me to love the show or save my low ratings.
My strife with this show is its repetitive nature in terms of situations, jokes etc. It shows little to no growth, I also didn't have any emotional connection to most of the characters, I didn't hate them nor did I love them. Some characters I outrighted hated them for most of the show aka the female leads sister / bora.
Another thing is even if you miss one or 2 episodes or a few scenes literally u miss nothing. Most scenes are insignificant and so many fillers. Most scenes are meaningless and show some dumb things some character does that is apparently supposed to be funny, but I didn't enjoy it. we had a goat sound for all the funny scenes, it was a little annoying though I didn't hate it but it wasnt pleasant.
I want to compare this with another slice of life made by the same producer, that is hospital playlist. Hospital playlist shows lives of people in a hospital and it shows reality, doesn't repeat situations or jokes, it has very lovable characters unlike the frustrating ones in this one. It is extremely insightful to people's life while visiting hospitals and the staff. It is 100 times more wholesome than reply 1988. It has not made me lose interest and is always relaxing.
I would have enjoyed this show alot more if they showed a bit more about the social problems and setting at the time period of 1988. I felt like they showed more of the shows, singers, ads and celebrities popular at the time which I couldn't relate to as I'm not a korean person, but I understand why the koreans loved this show. It's probably one of the reasons why I didn't enjoy the show.
*spoilers BIG SPOILERS SKIP THIS IF YOURE WATCHING OR PLANNING TO WATCH OTHERWISE NO POINT* the love triangle was just sad. I hated the guy she ended up with. He's the most boring character I have ever seen in my life. He had no charms according to me. He is sleepy, tired and stressed all the time and playing his lousy game. Not very street smart either, he needs help tying his shoes? Really now? He's handsome but that's nowhere a reason to ship the two.The second lead was relatively more interesting and had some life in him but he is just a coward so idk but I did ship them more than the one she ended up with. Basically I dont ship her with anyone especially not with the male lead.
Also the fact that they dragged this show to 21 episodes for literally no reason made no sense to me. This show had nothing much to show that justified it to be so long.
Now to the positive aspects of the show that saved the dying rating. This show showed EVERY characters life, there were no side characters, everyone was main. This was nice! It showed everyone's problems, lifes and touched upon lives of older and younger alike.
The music of the show including osts and the old songs was IMPECCABLE. I learned way too many good old songs because of this show. This reason single handedly increased the ratings by 3.
I really dont recommend this show to be an ideal slice of life or in general to anyone, but there are tons of shooters for this show who seemed to have really enjoyed it, so i guess it's your choice as I'm part of the minority who didn't enjoy this high rated show.

A very good political drama with humor elements

If the world is filled with people who are neither good nor bad, so are the characters in this drama. It's a world of grey.
One of my favourite things in a movie or show is a grey character. Always interesting and unpredictable and this show embodied that. Not even a single predictable character. You will think "oh this person must be a certain way" but they turn around and do something they have never done before. It was super fun to see this play out.
"Joy of life" is like a game with the writer whipping out a bunch of interesting, smart and power hungry people all in one show and seeing what happens. Its political yet humorous, which makes it all the more enjoyable.
This show had 46 episodes, I was gearing up for a long ride with high expectations and I would say this show has reached most of my expectations thank fully and surprised me quite a bit too. I really enjoyed most of the characters and most storylines.
It was really enjoyable from episode one to about ep 20, very clever, funny and interesting. But from 20 to 30 I started to feel a drag and it started to get uninteresting. There were alot of filler episodes and plots that could have been done without . I was almost
gonna drop it so bad, but only xiao zhan made me want to hold on. But after that phase things not only got better, it really kept me on the edge. The unveiling of the layers of the story was perfect. The story made sure that the audience always stayed alert in order to get what is happening.
This show is the epitome of equality. The women of this show are unbeatable, strong no matter thier circumstances and never a pushover. As an untamed fan this was a job well done as untamed lacked in this department.
This show hits different spots regarding dilemmas on political and social issues. I found myself questioning and debating about my own morals. This show strengthened my morals in some ways maybe. Now that's a huge impact.
As an untamed fan, it would be a lie to say that xiao zhan was not part of the many reasons why I watched this show. It was so great to see him on screen again, though it was for a support role. He bought in alot to the table and ended the show with a bang ?
This show was a treat to the eyes as well as the ears. The osts and the bgm used in the drama was beautiful. Plus point once again was xiao zhan sang one of the osts hehe.
In conclusion this show had a huge impact on me and I think it would impress many people so I highly recommend it! Cant wait for season 2 please release it asap ?

A perfect blend of humor and intensity

Vincenzo is a show that checks every box in my list of what makes a good drama. It has law. It has humor. It has thrill. It has good storyline and writing. It has beautiful cinematography. It has enough Romance to keep me on my toes. Couldn't ask for more.
This show was something I waited for everyday of the week. Every week I was so excited to watch it as soon as Netflix dropped it. It really keeps you so pumped and ends with cliffhangers every episode.
It has alot of impact on my daily life. I keep remembering the show looking at random things like pigeons, zumba etc.
I loved how well the writer really thought out the show and wrote it so intelligently.
This show is so balanced, every episode there was an equal amount of humor and intensity. So you'll never know how serious the next scene is gonna be and this doesn't tire you out and make you overwhelmed.
I remember really laughing out loud, literally to many of the scenes in the show.
The osts of the show are haunting and really well suited to every scene.
I really enjoyed most of the characters, they were well written and well executed by the top tier actors. The bts of the show was super fun to watch, I loved how comfortable the cast were so comfortable with each other.
This show really is so impactful, it made me stronger, I felt somehow empowered and ready to take on challenges (I know right, sounds a little unrealistic, but ngl I really felt it).
The only complain I have is the last episode, the first half made me almost want to reduce the rating to like a 8 lol. It was a bit too fast and overwhelming and some of the actions were unnecessary. But the second half kinda saved the show and increased my rating to 9.5. It was not a perfect ending but I felt vincenzo deserved "that" for his sins. If it were a perfect ending it would be unrealistic. So I dont actually have a problem with it.
Other than that, I loved the show so so much. It was beautiful. Highly recommended. Please watch.

Voice is a above average crime thriller drama with a very good background story, plot and interesting cases.
While watching this drama there is not one dull moment, it always keeps you on your toes. If not the adrenaline rush, its anger or frustration. There is always an emotion.
Each case always has a twist and it's not always what you think and this keeps you more hooked to the show.
The actors in this drama have done a fine job at portraying thier characters. Kim jae wook and jang hyuk especially.
The bgm and osts are pretty nice to hear but I personally felt at times that they didn't match the scenes.
The female characters is actually one of the coolest characters I have ever seen on drama land. she's strong, smart and rational. Her abilities and skills are mind blowing. I really can't wait to watch her again in the next season.

But I feel the opposite about the male lead's character. He was extremely emotional, impulsive and kinda hypocritical. His lines consist of mainly 2 words and he its really hard to hear him swear at every person he meets expect his son. Most of the frustration happened due to his meaningless actions.
Though the overall storyline is solid, the small inconsistencies and plot conveniences are present all through the story.
Still I would say it's worth it. It's entertaining and interesting to watch.

a good rom-com in a sports setting

I started this drama thinking it will be a cute story with some comedy moments. I also thought the story will be dragged as it was 40 episodes. But the story was much more than what I expected.

Due to my initial feelings that the drama will be dragged, I was getting ready to forward all the meaningless moments, which happened a lot in the first 20 episodes. The first 20 episodes were very dragged and lowkey meaningless and dumb with little to no logic. Nevertheless, I held on thinking it may get better.
Thank god I did, because the second half really touches more on mental health, hardships, and relationship issues, all in the perspective of sports. It was very interesting for me to see how such difficulties are overcome as I am someone who tends to run away from sports, it was enlightening. I appreciate that the writer decides to touch on such topics.
The relationships and friendships were very cute though everyone had their dumb moments here and there. You can't really hate anyone at the end of the series. The character development of each character and wrapping of the whole show is very well done.
The music throughout the show was really cute and it's shot pretty well, the sports scenes are beautiful.
Other than these good points there are many illogical moments throughout the series. But I think it's worth it in the end.

Light yet deep, full of laugh out loud moments

Changed my whole perspective on politics, election and legislative assembly.
This drama revolves around the female lead taking part in the election and how the real legislature actually works. The behind the scenes of such institutions taught me so much about how hard it is to actually work in these institutions and how much of a mind game this can be.
Starting from the fact that this drama revolved around goo sera, a woman in a political world itself sets this drama apart from the million others. The story is really well written. The humor and chemistry of the couple is so fkn cute. The male lead was no way conventional, he was caring, smart and kind. A hard worker to the core. He is a gem for sure! I really enjoyed almost all characters, they were all super funny and also had some meaning and realness in them. The show has a very different vibe.
The osts were all very good. I loved the ost sung by siyeon! Such a mood booster and motivator.
The first half of the show was so enjoyable that I binged alot but the middle part became a little boring which is why my ratings went down.I had to force myself to continue watching.
But regardless of that flaw, I enjoyed watching this alot, highly recommended if you wanna learn something, laugh out loud and experience some (alot) of pettiness of politicians lmao. This is a perfect drama to fit the romantic comedy genre.
