Great concept, bad execution.

This show is an example of how to ruin a drama with great concept and potential into a mess. The first 5 episodes really really impressed me to the point where I made my own storyline that could have made more sense than the original show.

Acting: I wouldn't say I loved the main character's acting, both dan oh and haru. But lee jae wook, he was extremely good. His character deviates between frustrating and depressing every few episodes, and he showcased that so well. Other than that, I felt absolutely no chemistry, no emotions and no feelings about any character, was dissapointing. April naeun really surprised me though, she acts pretty well and is so beautiful!

Characters: The writer failed in this department. Literally no character has depth, especially haru. He literally has no personality except for ...well.. he like dan oh. Dan Oh's character was bearable for 5 episodes, actually she was cute. But after that I found her lines and expressions extremely cringy. She was trying to sound a little too cheerful, didn't enjoy that. Dan oh starts off as a strong character, then she ends up crying every few episodes, was hard to watch. The other extra characters like the bullies and other classmates were really annoying, they keep doing same shit every day. Every interaction of the main three characters I started to skip by the end of the show, except for juda and lee do hwa scenes( they were cute).

Script: I have actually never seen a drama with so many plot holes, repetitive (even though there is a reason for some of the dialogues being repeated)and extremely cringy dialogues all rolled up into a package so perfectly like this one. After the good 5 episodes, we got into a really bad phase for like 5 episodes and I thought that the show was getting better, but no it ends with nothing. This show explains nothing. We reach nowhere.

Music: The osts of this show are really good though. They had all these idol group like april, stray kids and verivery to sing.

In conclusion this show is extremely frustrating and nothing much to watch. Watch only if you have absolutely nothing to do in life.

Watch go ahead instead.

Our secret had so much potential to become a touching and emotional story that would have always remained in my heart (something like 'go ahead') but it really MAJORLY lacks in almost all aspects.
The first few episodes had me addicted! It was so beautiful and ugh the charecters were adorable.
But um i have alot of problems in the fundamental thoughts they tried to convey in this show:
- the portrayal of the arts stream is SO BAD. They treat it as though arts is something that people who want it easy take, conforming to the social norms. They state multiple times that "only few students take arts" " girls should only take arts" "science is too difficult for woman". This is in 2021, not 1800s.
- the female leads reason for choosing her stream is her ego. She wants to prove to everyone that she can do science. Even though it sounds so inspiring,it really isn't because shes literally not passionate about any science, nor does she have dreams to do science, she's not even good at science. She's literally an artist !!! Her other reason is all her friends took science.
- Male lead does everything in his power to "protect" the female lead even though she can literally do things herself. He puts his career at risk to do this too. The norms of men proposing, men buying the ring, men always paying, men not feeling cold at alllll is further amplified not in a subtle way.
- the female lead does CRAZY things for love. She literally does not care about her career for around 15 episodes and tries to do everything the male lead does(as he's the genius) by taking a break year to study in the same University and even join his research team???? When she finally realises her importance suddenly she's getting all these arts offers after doing a degree in computing. SO UNREALISTIC. Yll really think getting a job in an area that's not your major is easy? No matter how talented nobody hands out contracts to a fresh graduate from ANOTHER major. This is setting such crazy expectations that happens irl only in RARE cases.
- many scenes make no logical sense. He's poor but lives in such a huge apartment in the middle of the city? All three leads be crashing random meetings? A Start up working in so many industries? I could name so many things!
-the mom's charecter has SO MUCH EGO. Even though she's the adult, the female lead is expected to "not get mad at her" or be respectful because she "doesn't mean it". That's such a sick mindset because adults are the ones that need to be mature and not treat thier children like shit.
The leads were cute in the first few episodes but their chemistry gradually deteriorated. The show dragged the high school part quite alot. I skipped way too much even in the end of the show.
Another thing I thought could have been done better is at how they started the show with the fact that "shit happened", that made me wait for shit to happen because i knew it would and made me enjoy the show less.
The acting is pretty good, i don't have any complains in any other aspect except for the writing and the ideas presented in the drama which would leave the watchers with unrealistic expectations about life and career. Even thier relationship is low-key super unrealistic. I finished this show learning absolute nothing and gaining no insights on anything in life.
Highly not recommended.

Not upto my expectations

I had high Hopes for this drama due to the amount of hype and the high ratings I had seen on the internet. But I'm sorry to say, this drama was dissapointing in many ways.
I didn't particularly enjoy the drama or feel much with the characters. I was preparing myself with tissues because all family dramas are usually hard hitting, but this I couldn't connect with the characters at all.
First of all this drama is a remake of a movie which lasts not even 3 hours, the writer really had to drag the show into 16 episodes which is almost impossible to do and the writer really tried to include stories of so many people and so many sub plots that weren't necessary and made the show boring ultimately.
Right from episode 1, nothing captured me and made me addicted to the show. I was bored and always waited for something to happen, but nothing happened. I used to find excuses to not watch the show and had to fast forward the last few episodes so I could finally finish it.
The second leads role was such a waste honestly. I hated every scene the second lead came in just to make the male lead jealous. The storyline was suffocating honestly. I couldn't take his scenes though the character itself was a sweetheart. Every time I saw the repetitive jealousy scenes my frustration really went up. It was hard to watch.
*spoiler *
I couldn't fathom the fact that a high schooler was actually hugging and kissing a 37 year old lady, though he is still her husband. I found it so hard to watch.
I have to say that I really loved the Bonding between the family members especially the dad and the kids, was very warm to watch.
The osts are very beautiful though. Very unique voices and meaningful lyrics. Loved that.
I wouldn't really recommend and would probably not rewatch.

Really not worth 16 hours of your life

The writers must be seriously appreciated, how does one drag such a basic, weak and boring storyline which would have been fun if it was 8 episodes but they dragged it for 16 episodes. Seriously, so talented.
Each character is so flawed it's not even funny. Everyone is toxic, manipulative and have traumas with thier parents. They stalk each other like nobody's business. They manipulate and want everything to happen exactly how they wish and are willing to go to any length for it, even kidnapping, stalking, threatening and lowkey raping(?).
It has everything a basic drama storyline should have. Trauma? Love squares(hexagons???)? Stalking? Poor struggling female lead? Rich male lead? Crazy strict parents? Unexpected pregnancy? Misunderstandings? I could keep this list going forever. As they are all very much present in this drama and nothing about it is new.
The leads are actually so unaware of thier own feelings when they're literally 30. The frustration is another level.
The second leads really have a knack of frustrating the viewers. I dont know why they have to be so stupid and hold onto a dying relationship with no potential with thier crazy manipulative behaviour.
The female lead has alot of good points like she is motivated, honest, bright and really good at communicating. But she is so self sacrificing and so nosy oh god(which has it's good points). Her character is not bad.
The male lead is nothing special, hes just another arrogant male lead with a little bit goofy-ness.
What actually made me keep watching is its goofy ness and the sound effects. The humor was on point. The chemistry of the leads after the whole pushing, pulling and self sacrificing was extremely cute. The character development of some of the characters was really satisfying. The music of the show is actually so good. It was stuck in my head all day.
Other than that this show had nothing, no emotions, no story and no meaning.Very dissapointing really dont waste your time.

This drama really REALLY tries to be a slice of life drama, but fails miserably at it. The bio of the show talks about "dreams" and achieving them without "proper credentials",this aspect is addressed in the drama maybe a 20%. All of the others parts of the show is about the romance between these two friends who liked each other for 20 years. The show is 60% just romance scenes portraying unnecessary aegyo, extremely possessive attitude of the leads(the ML asks the FL so so ridiculous things like change her clothes coz her legs are too pretty??? And this is considered to be a cute jealous scene?why?), the leads both control each others life and the female lead thinks that people date others because we want to listen without any questions to what our partner says.
The jealous scenes before they started dating was so hard to watch, it annoyed the hell out of me i wanted ro just skip the whole episode.
The second lead couple actually saved the show, thier relationship is shown more realistically and in a more touching way. They made me more interested to watch the episode.
I am iffy about both the leads characters, the female lead is a pretty strong human doesn't let others walk over her, just like the male lead which was a good thing, but they are a little too controlling.
The leads had good chemistry and were cute together though. Thier story about them achieving thier dreams were touching. Especially the second female lead standing up on her own and doing things for herself was one of the best parts of the show, a very well done character development.
One of the reason i may have enjoyed the show less maybe that i had seen too many spoilers of this show long back,so there was no element of surprise, that's on me though i ruined for myself.
The music and acting was impressive as usual we except nothing less from them :)
Definitely feel this show is a little bit overrated still a good watch!

Dissapointing, no logic.

This show is definitely one of the most dumb shows I have ever seen. I actually was looking for a dumb show with a basic storyline but this was more worse than the low expectations I had.
The story has no logic what so ever, it has fantasy elements but the fantasy was more easier to believe that happening than what the characters we're doing. The actions of most characters had no base. In most parts of the story I was confused about what led to a particular event or how a person knows a particular thing. It was a mess.
The last 3 episodes were absolutely unbearable actually, it was painful to watch and it definitely made no sense. The female lead was actually cute in the first half but becomes too much of an idiot that put her feelings in danger. The acting wasn't anything surprising, it was subpar. The way the male lead was acting was so disturbing, oh my god.
The show was addictive, that was one of the reasons why I didn't give it a zero. The osts were decent, kinda catchy. The actor was extremely attractive, he had a particular charm to him. The secretary lowkey saved the show from falling off from the cliff, his cute dialogues and actions were really nice, though in the end even his story became a little repetitive. Other than these minor good points. The show is trash.
I also read somewhere that the leads are dating in real life, thats cute hopefully they do a better drama in the future.
I'm so utterly dissapointed at how the writers couldn't even live up to the low expectations I had.

A very insightful and inspiring show

Start up is a drama that I enjoyed watching every second of. It was well paced, inspiring and satisfying in every aspect.
The point of the show doesn't lie in the romance, that's something I didn't even think about unlike the millions of people on the internet putting themselves in teams about who deserves her. I was more worried about the other aspects of the show. It is rare that the other parts of the show are so much more interesting than the romance.
The show first of all shows the process and problems of starting a business in detail. It shows the society losing trust in you including your family. It shows how hard it is to actually start a business.
The concepts brought out in the show are straight out of entrepreneurship textbooks. The idea of "sandbox" was extremely interesting. I think this show will really help someone who is planning on starting a business. It's rare that a drama can be that insightful.
The pacing of show along with perfect titles and definition of concepts was a very interesting, there was not one time where I was annoyed or bored of any character or scene.
The characters were all lovable and leave a huge impression. The female lead is hard working and works her way up with not much family support or college degree. The second female lead works with her insecurities, ego and guilt and comes out as a more competent and confident woman. The male lead also goes through a similar change in terms of finding himself and his strengths. The grandma's role was so heartwarming along with second male lead. They were the ones that made me cry the most.
"Money" and "choices" are huge underlying concepts in this drama. It shows how small decisions can change your life and bring more problems and benefits, no choice can be right or wrong but have thier own consequences. Also that no person's life is a bed of Roses.
It also brought out many dilemmas in terms of technology and people and the middle ground that must be maintained. Some of the points put across by the characters really made me see different perspectives.
The show is a visual treat, the scenes are shot so beautifully along with some filters here and there. The music that plays throughout the drama is beautiful with songs from some of the biggest artists like red velvet, gaho, Jamie, bol4 etc. The list has not one average song in it. The acting too is really good as expected, the casting is perfect.
Overall I really enjoyed this and would recommend it.

Masterpiece focusing on many social problems, very insightful

Move to heaven is a 10 episode drama its shorter than most dramas but the impact cannot be compared to other dramas.
This drama is one of the few that I actually binge watched, I finished in less than 2 days, which is very fast for me. I watched it all the time except the time I was eating or sleeping.

First of all the topic of the drama itself puts it in another level compared to other dramas. Death, a taboo topic not brought up in everyday conversations. Death can happen alike to the young and old though more to the old, this drama covers both, extensively. Death due to old age, illness, accidents, murder etc. Are all covered.
This show depicts a autistic teenager and his father who help cleaning up after the death of a person. They clear up thier belongings and try to understand the life of the deceased by observing. Learning stories through the objects they left behind and helping the ones left behind to move on while understanding the feelings of the deceased.
Autism is very well depicted and acted out. All the actors did exceptional jobs at portraying their characters too.
The storyline is written so well the writer definitely has earned a new fan. The stories are all complex, including many layers that are unearthed slowly. It doesn't just look at death but many other social problems like adoption by foreigners of koreans, the question of right to die, old age problems, homosexuality, toxic relationships to name a few. These problems especially the problem of old age is something I hold close to my heart, so I felt this deep in my heart. Such a huge spectrum of problems covered in a drama is rare, but move to heaven did it, not just did it, they did it exceptionally well and also brought in tears to your eyes every few episodes.
The show also showed the life of the main characters, I really enjoyed the backstory which was naturally brought in by the writer and also loved the way the relationship of the uncle and the nephew developed in time.
The nephew's character is actually the best character, he's so caring and kind in his own way I always feel empathetic and attached to him.
The lack of osts is the only flaw I can find in this masterpiece, but it really didn't matter because I didn't even realise until I searched for osts and found classical music instead, which only introduced more music, so I'm not mad.

This is a drama I recommend everyone to watch, it'll change your life.

A whole healing experience. Extremely artistic.

It's okay to not be okay is a whole new world. There's nothing like it. The concept, the characters, the script and the storyline everything is perfect. Even if I try I can't find one fault in anything.
It is ahead of it's time. A whole drama that shows mental disorders in such depth, has never been done so perfectly before.
This show made me realise how people who are specially abled bring such light into the world. It made me change so much. This show changed my perspectives on many things, even though I'm a psychology major it showed me many things which made me appreciate my subject alot more. I dont think any drama has moved me in this way.
The dialogues and the use of fairytales in every episode made me appreciate this drama alot. I enjoyed every episode, its like an art piece honestly.
The music in this show is definitely one of the best aspects, some osts are a little dissapointing but the English osts are too good! The intro music is hauntingly beautiful. Seriously the drama is on another level.
The acting of every single character, amazing. Especially moon sang tae, oh jung se played his character so well. I get goosebumps. Everytime.
I loved how strong ko moon yeong is, she is a female lead we will remember forever. Her wardrobe, her lines and her expressions, perfect.
In conclusion, this drama is a must watch. It will forever remain iconic and will surely change your life.

A true hidden gem

The only expectation I had from this drama was kim nam gil because I knew he was a very good actor from watching the drama "fiery priest". Comedy is especially his forte, such a talented man, I must say because what I got was 100 times more than my expectations. Kim nam-gil's character was such a dork! He was adorable yet had some serious skills when it came to his job. He is not your average acupuncture doctor!
The female lead played by kim ah Joong, even though I have never seen her on screen before, really impressed me! Her character was cool and charismatic and extremelytalentedat her job ,truly one of a kind female lead! She made me a fan of her so fast! She was never a clueless and helpless woman even for a second. She was quick to do whatever it takes, fight and protect herself to get out of her difficulties. Such a fresh female lead. On top of all that she is so beautiful, always shining on screen!
For me personally I dont enjoy both medical and period dramas much. But this show was so amazing! It had aspects of romantic-comedy, fantasy and medical perfectly blended together. I felt a whole lot of emotions during the show the actors really outdid themselves.
Our leads actually portray one of the most purest and adorable relationships I have ever seen. I really enjoyed how thier relationship and thier relationship with the other characters evolved and thier individual stories of healing and character development.
This show portrays the duty of doctors in both joseon era and modern world. It shows how the doctor's duty has changed and how important it is to the people of the country, under monarchy or democracy. This show really set my moral values on stone and increased my respect for doctors.
Unfortunately though, the story lacks depth, the writer made the past of the main leads a little predictable and simple. There were many dumb things about some parts of the story. The writers were the one that made this show a little weak. It would seem like there is a complex story behind, but it really gives you less than what you expect.
Still I would say this is a hidden gem and better than many of the shows that people hype up.
Highly recommended!

This show is so different from normal dramas, it focuses on topics never seen before on small screen, in the most perfect way. You can never guess what is going to happen next while watching especially last 3 episode left me so shocked and made me cry so many times. Its really a heart warming story with top class actors.
It talks about the older generation of people, the" neglected" generation. This show has so many light moments but the heavy side of it really REALLY hits you. It talks about relationships between family, friends and people in general with special attention given to the older generation. It also touches on korea in 1970s.
What is so amazing about this show is that it perfectly disguises itself as a rom-com, with fantasy aspects but completely turns around and makes you view all the episodes differently.
I have to give special mention to nam joo hyuk who did a splendid job in portraying his character. Almost all the actors were really amazing to watch!
The only issue i have with this drama is that it is extremely confusing, like i needed a whole year to comeback and finish this drama, just the last 2 episodes. I think this maybe because it was nothing i have ever seen before, the unfamiliarity made me stop watching it. But after completing it i felt really warm and appriciated it more!
a story not for everyone, only the once who are looking for something heartwarming and are willing to spend time and watch patiently how this drama unfolds :)

Every line was beautifully written, the acting was so beautiful, the story was extremely touching,The osts were perfect too.
I have to mention that the characters were so perfectly chosen, these people could be actually real,so relatable.

After finishing this drama i feel somehow happy and made me feel like a different person,a better person. It is impactful, really. Please give it a watch :)

This is super funny,i really really enjoyed this show from start to end. It shows how high the level of corruption can go. The story isn't as intense as they make it look from the posters. It's light and funny with a pinch of crime.
These kind of storylines are so my type. I loved everything about this! So beautiful ?The comedy was on point, characters on point, cast on point, acting on point. BROMANCE and SISMANCE on point.
I just have to say the Male lead IS SO HANDSOME, I'm a fan now.

I started this drama with little to no expectations, but it did surprise me in some ways not gonna lie!
It has a pretty nice concept, interesting characters and beautiful cinematography, especially the female lead looked extremely stunning in almost all the scenes, breathtaking! I liked some parts of the story like the stalker situation, doctor publishing illegally and all that,it really pull you in during these episodes, especially the whole deal with the stalker was super well written and executed. I loved the second lead couple, both seulgi and jin hyuk(who actually surprised me with his acting) did a great job .I must really compliment the artists who made the osts, they really outdid themselves, was super impressed!
What reduced my points is the fact that the plot is so messy, some parts good, others were very, very cliche. The writers tried to include way too many story lines into one.The last 2 episodes were a disaster, including the dialogues its like the writer gave up in the last episode. The ending was cute but still the way they executed it in the end made me feel little iffy. The story line itself was a little too unrealistic(?), like the whole love story line, something about it made me feel uncomfortable.
Still a good watch,was entertained :)

A true masterpiece! Always keeping you on your toes

Stranger season 1 which is one of my all time favourite dramas set the expectations really high for the second season and as expected this drama didn't let me down except for some minor issues.
The writers did a spectacular job, every scene was so thrilling and so beautifully written. It makes you question all types of social structures in the society. It makes you realise the behind the scenes of corruption, favours in the business world, bribery, bullying etc. It even touches alot on mental health and being there for people, no matter what. This show is loved by everyone due to the aftereffcts that stays in your mind after the show is over. It makes you think, the impact is on another level.
We got alot of scenes with our favourite duo, shi mok and yeo jin, thier relationship which was wholesome, more so in this season. Too many cute interactions with seo dong jae, shi mok and kang won chul(a father uwu) too. I loved the new addition in the cast, two extremely powerful and strong characters. I also loved how lee young jae transformed into a whole ceo, we love strong woman.
This season just fills you up with hope for your life. The way our duo fight for justice and always stand up for what's right is so amazing to watch. I especially loved the scenes where shi mok straight up questions people, doesn't take shit from nobody and of course always has evidence for everything.
I loved how the character shi mok develops in this season. Many emotional scenes and alot of goosebumps. Truly legendary.
Side note: the osts for this show are amazing!! Theyre better than season one!
Now for the minor issues, the show had alot of talking, a lot of boring talking in the first few episodes, though I understand some of it was necessary for the show to progress, still this needed alot of concentration to understand, it was alot of work. I also didn't like how they kept our duo apart for alot of episodes! I just wanted to see them together!!! But you can say they made up for it in the last few episodes :)
Anyways I really enjoyed this show and will be waiting for how many ever years for a new season, I really need more of this!
