Really disappointed at the end of the drama. Many questions were left unexplained. What eventually did happen…
Lee Hyunjae from 1994 was supposed to die that day, so I guess he did after his 1993 self went back to 2017. But I feel the same as you. I feel like a lot of things werent explained properly. About the pairing I actually liked it more than if she ended up with her friend. I know he liked her for 8 years but on her part she never saw him as more than a friend, while Lee Hyunjae would make her heart beat faster and think what is he doing right now. Plus, personally I liked his character more than Ji Hoon’s, both in personality and looks.
This was the comment I left when I finished watching the last episode:
"I feel there were things left to explain or that they could have worked on a little more. But for me the biggest thing was: arent there rules to this whole time travelling thing? He just met with his 1994 self like it was no big deal and then we all know his 1994 self ends up dying that year, his body was buried but at the same time his 23 years old self is alive in 2017. I think it would make more sense if he find out he had a twin who was jealous of him and took over his life and pretended to be him when he disappeared in 1993. That twin would be Ji Hoon’s father and ended up dying to a disease in 1994.
But oh well, I guess this is just my opinion. Anyway, I still liked it a lot. It will be in my Top List. Gave it a 8/10."

My first 10. I will probably not watch it again anytime soon as I probably cried 1 litre of tears and now have to drink 1 litre of water to make up for it. Honestly I am not a fan of the tragedy genre, not because it doesnt have good dramas but because I am someone who cries easily when I see other people suffering, even if it is not real, but this is based on a REAL story. I think the first 2 episodes I was able to hold it and not cry (kinda) but from episode 3 to 11 there wasnt a single one that I did not cry, specially as the story progressed. I cannot not give it a 10 when it cant get more real than this. Its impossible to watch it from start to end without crying, unless you have that disease that makes you unable to feel emotions....or youre not a human being.
It will definitelly be painful to watch but I still recommend you to do it. It can help you realize how important the things you have are and that you should treasure them, specially the things we take for granted: being able to walk, talk, see, hear, smell, eat, family, friends, the day after today...
Although I am a romance lover and always look for dramas that maily focus on the romance, with lots of romantic scenes and kisses... I take my hat off for Bridal Mask. The romance is only a small part of the plot, although its there, it doesnt take over the whole story. There is a lot more to Bridal Mask than a tragic romance in the middle of a war.
The drama managed to keep it very realistic. A lot of the things that happened in the drama are part of history and you can feel all the emotions people who lived in that time must have felt. You can see how losing a loved one can completely change the way you view life and even yourself. You can see how cruel human beings can be for selfish reasons like money and power and how that brings unhappiness to other people....and themselves. I cried many times, I hardly skipped any scenes (which I usually do when I watch many episodes at a time), I felt the story like I was living it, I don’t know what else I could expect and this coming from someone who usually finds war dramas rather boring.
I didnt watch it yet but I read a lot of people saying there is no chemistry between the 2 main leads but while I was reading their bio I found out they married in 2016. That said, I am sure the chemistry was there, we might just not be able to see it. XD
Anyway, I will give it a try since there are so many mixed reviews but the rating is still pretty good.
I really want to watch this but cant find it anywhere. I managed to find the first 2 episodes on Dailymotion but thats it. I know its available on Netflix but Im not going to create an account and spend money just to watch this one kdrama, which is the first and hopefully the last kdrama that I cant find online anywhere. I will request it on KissAsian, they might upload it later.
Although I am a romance lover, what made me enjoy this was not really the romance since that had many flaws and there wasnt enough time to develop it. It was the sisters relationship, how they got to know each others feelings better and how their relationship improved because of that, for me that was the highlight of this short drama.
This is about 3 hours long so its a good watch when you dont have a lot of free time on your hands and want to watch something light (no pun intended).
Im glad this was only about 3 hours long or I wouldn’t be able to watch it till the end. I cannot say I loved it since I hated the concept of him only caring about the way a person looks and her pretending to be someone she was not just so he would like her. But I did like it and surprisingly I liked the ending even more which is rare. Most of the times I fully enjoy a drama but feel the ending was lacking. It was not the case with this one. The last episode was more satisfying than all the other episodes.
Like I said, I liked it because it was short. If I had to go through 20 hours of it I would have hated it for sure. So if you want to watch something that is not super long and with a satisfying ending, then watch this. It feels like you’re watching a movie and it will be hard to feel bored.
If I did not start watching this as soon as it came out and waited to watch it all at once, I would probably have dropped it. Aside from good looking actors and some funny scenes there is not much to it. The story had potential but went nowhere.
As someone who read the manwha, this was disappointing to say the least. Aside from the title, name of the characters and some other details, this has nothing to do with the manwha. I gave it a chance anyway and tried not to think of the manwha while watching it but it was pretty bad. Overrated.
I honestly started watching it hoping to give it an easy 9/10 but specially after the last episode, I just dont feel like giving it more than a 5/10, and that is only because I tried hard to find something positive and I found a few things.
Can someone spoil me the ending please I watched most of the drama and really like it but since the ending is…
Well, it is kind of an open ending but with hints that they get back together and everyone else seems to be doing good so overall its a happy ending I guess.
Tbh, I think the ending could have been better but since I fully enjoyed all the other episodes I can forgive that ending. I mean, at least no one dies. (maybe because it is not a Chinese drama XD) So you should still watch it till the end, Its worth it.
I fully enjoyed it and with a better ending I could have given it a 10. But a 8 is pretty good considering Im very picky and so far my best rating was a 9.
am i the only one who only watched this for the main couple so i basically skipped all the scenes except the ones…
No, youre not the only one. I skipped all the episodes till the female lead first appeared (around ep 9) and skipped almost every scene so I could see the main couple. It probably took me less than 6 hours to watch this although it has so many episodes. I decided to watch this because of the female lead and I liked the character she played and the way she dressed. I just wish they had focused a little more on their romance and have her appear more often.
I haven’t seen a female lead with so little screen time since I watched the brazilian soap opera Duas Caras. I had to skip entire episodes to be able to see Zanilia. I dont know if that was how the script was suposed to be or if Zanilia was busy filming other dramas, but the fact is a female lead that has less screen time than some supporting characters cannot really be called a female "lead". Anyway, it did have some positive parts and scenes I enjoyed watching but they get burried under all the negative things. 5.5/10 is the highest I can give this drama. In my opinion, it doesnt have much rewatch value.
It took me about 8 hours to finish watching 54 episodes (45 mins each). I think that says a lot about how I felt while watching this. The main leads are 2 of my favourite chinese actors and that was the reason I decided to watch this in the first place. I felt like I was watching a soap opera, too many misunderstandings, annoying people and way too predictable.
In the first few episodes you can already figure out 2 or 3 major parts to the plot that are only revealed almost at the end so you go like: ahh, what a surprise, I knew that 50 episodes ago.
I did not drop it as it is not that bad, I just skipped A LOT of scenes. Some episodes were completely ignored as I felt I would not miss anything if I did not watch them.
Overall, its not a bad drama. I didnt hate it, but I didnt love it either. For me it has no rewatch value. 5.5/10
Hum...where do I start? There is not much to the story, it feels like there is no plot. The idea of the game world is original, different from everything else BUT I think they dragged a lot of things and it felt boring for me. Like most people, the male lead was what kept me watching it. Tbh, I am not a fan of Zheng Shuang. You know when you try watching a drama that is not really your kind of drama but stars an actor/actress you really like? It happens the opposite when Zheng Shuang is involved. I have watched 2 other dramas with her and Idk and Im sorry, Im not hating on her but I just cant enjoy her acting. Yeah, she is pretty but thats it. Most of the times she has no expressions (almost feels like she did some plastic surgery and cant move her face muscles) and it was hard watching those kisses. I mean, the male lead did some of the best kisses I have seen in dramas and she would just stand there and not even move her mouth. It takes 2 to tango and I felt like the male lead was the only one trying. I would have liked this way more if any other actress was the female lead.
Also, no review can be accurate with only watching the first episode. The first episode is only the introduction of the story and characters. You cant judge a drama for the first episode only. I have also dropped some dramas on the first episode because I did not find them interesting. But in those cases I only commented or completely ignored it. I never wrote a review for a drama that I dropped in the first episode(s).
It would be unfair to judge something I didnt even watch and it could keep other people from watching it because of my bad review, which would not be accurate since I didnt watch it at all.
Unless there is a second season with the SAME main leads, my rating for this drama will stay as a 6.5/10. I had high expectations for this one. It started great, then like people are saying, it became Yan Xun’s story and not Xing Er’s. If there is a second season going more into detail about Xing Er’s past, then the cliffhanger ending becomes a little more acceptable and my rating can go up to 8 (maybe?). If they do not make a second season my rating will stay like this. If they use a different actress for the main female lead then I will probably not even bother watching it. After going through so many hours of Zhao Zanilia as Xing Er, there is no way I can associate the character with any other face that is not the face of Zanilia. It will just feel like an entirely different drama for me and I wont be able to see the new actress being intimate with the male lead without feeling he is cheating on Xing Er. I am sorry, but thats how I feel about it.
Great start, the first few episodes got me super excited about the story, then it gets a little draggy and predictable and the ending was meh. I felt something was missing and this could have been so much more. But at the end of the day, overall, I still feel like giving it a good rating (8/10) and I will definitely watch it again. If some things were done differently this would have been easily a 10/10 drama and one of my favourites.
I am aware of that and I will edit my review once I finish watching all the episodes. There was no review on this and I am enjoying it so much so I wrote one just so people who were not sure if they should watch it or not could have an idea of what other people think about it and decide if it is their kind of drama.
I saw that many other dramas that are still airing already have reviews and I find them helpful so I can decide if I want to pick a drama or not bother starting it. Ofc my review and rating might change in a few days after I finish watching the entire drama but while it is still airing I hope it will be helpful to other people.
