I watched this before and watched it again today since I have to go somewhere later and didnt have time to watch an entire drama. This was like 2 hours so it was perfect for the time I had. I think it could have been better but its not bad, it had some pretty funny parts and sweet moments. Watch it on a day you dont have enough time to watch a 16 episodes drama. It will probably keep you entertained for the little time you have available.
Okay, so there is so much wrong with this drama that I won't even start xD That said, don't expect a…
I know what you mean. I watched it only for the romance and the comedy was good too, there were a lot of moments that made me laugh or at least smirk. But the story itself is full of flaws, a lot of things weren’t explained properly or even made sense. Oh well, its time travel so we can’t expect it to make sense. XD
6 hours later I have finished this. I skipped through a lot of things after like episode 32. The second female lead, that is if you can even call her that, got too annoying for me to handle it without skipping her scenes. The emperor was an idiot who shouldnt have been an emperor in the first place. The ending wasnt completely bad but her death was just stupid. She only needed to stay home and wait for the zhou emperor to do his thing and she could be alive and living happily ever after with her husband and son. Sigh
I am like half way through the drama right now but I have to say that after watching episode 21 Xiao Dong is oficially my favourite supporting character ever. I mean, everyone who has watched the first few episodes knows what a jerk he was the first time he met Xue Wu. Seeing the changes his character went through made it really easy for me to forgive and forget what a jerk he was in the past. I dont know if anyone else has the same opinion about him? Anyway, I dont want to spoil it for people who havent started watching this drama yet so Im going to shush. XD
It was a good romance/school drama to take a break from all the serious historical dramas I have been watching lately. I wouldn’t say it is one of the best dramas I have watched and it definitely has some flaws, but I enjoyed watching it.
I should have not found this interesting but for some weird reason I did. I felt it was a good break from all the political/tragedy/dragging boring plots I had to go through lately. It had a lot of funny parts, some I had to actually pause the video just so I could go "did she/he really just say/did that??" and then laugh till I cried. The Korean references even tho this is a Chinese drama just made it even better. The ending was meh, kinda confusing, kinda sucked, but since I wasnt in this seriously and just wanted a break from all the serious dramas I have been watching lately (deaths/misunderstandings/tragedy), I felt it was still worth watching.
For a moment I believed I was the one who wrote this review. Your thoughts are my thoughts exactly. I also wish the 2nd part was focused on the main couple. 50 episodes focused on Wu Ji and Huan Er would have been my cup of tea. I also only watched the sequel because of them and fast fowarded to their scenes.
I have not watched Prince of Lan Ling yet but it is on my plan to watch list as I have read a lot of positive reviews about it and it seems like my kind of drama. One that I have already watched and that I found it has some similarities to this one is Perfect Couple. Arranged marriage, swapping of the bride and all that.
To be honest, watched it only for the main couple from the 1st part. There were a lot of sweet moments between them in this part too but it was definitely not as good as the 1st part, it probably took me like 2 hours max to watch this, while the 1st part which had the same amount of episodes took me like a day and a half to finish. Loved the prequel and I wish the 2nd part also focused on Wu Ji and Huan Er.
Loved the main couple. They had a lot of chemistry, which made me watch the sequel although I knew they were only supporting characters in the second part. It is still worth to watch with a lot of skipping ofc, but there are lot of sweet moments between them in the sequel too.
Thank you for your review! I have read a lot of good reviews about this drama and it is already in my "plan to watch" list, but reading your review made me want to watch it sooner.
Overall I still enjoyed watching it.
