I’m too scared to begin watching.
Same. I am waiting a little longer. Maybe will watch it on a rainy day so I can just cry myself to sleep after. ^^'

7 episodes so far and its been so heartwarming and sweet, im not ready for tearjerking part, i wish the main leads…
I have not started it yet, but I feel like crying just from reading the synopsis. And judging from Landy Li‘s performance on The Starry Love, I know I will cry with her like my boyfriend is the one with ALS, and I don’t even have a boyfriend. ^^'

I think the first 2 guys die around episode 32 or 33 so you are close. I am not sure if they die on the same episode or one dies in one episode and the other dies in the next episode. They do not die at the same time but their deaths were pretty much one after the other, they even get buried in the same spot. And then another one dies in episode 35, another in episode 39 and the main leads in the last episode.

She falls in love with Yuan Lu later but he ends up dying so she does not really care who she marries.

I think this drama was really good for the first half or so, maybe up until episode 30 but then it started going downhill. They just started killing off all of the main characters and leaving alive characters that were less important. Probably because there was more than one writer involved. Even the FL’s personality changes a lot. Some of her words and actions near the end are kind of out of character. I wish they had done the last 10 episodes differently and given us a different ending.

I know its normal for people to die during war, but they literally killed ALL of the main characters, all the characters we liked during the drama. That is why I replied to someone else saying that a more fitting name for this drama would be A Journey to Death, since all the characters we follow on that journey, aside from the Princess and one or 2 other people that had little importance, died on that journey.

He is a grey one. He is not evil but he does some questionable things at times. But at the end of the day he also wants peace, because he knows war only brings devastation. He does try to kill the ML a few times out of jealousy since he is obssessed with his "shifu", the FL, but the deaths have nothing to do with him.

2 of them die while fighting invaders, 1 dies because he has health issues but runs miles day and night without food, rest or his medication to reach the An state to warn people about the invaders, and the other 3, including main leads, die in the last 2 episodes fighting against the invaders from North Pan.

In the end, there are hints that they might end up loving each other but their marriage was out of an agreement to benefit both the An and Wu states and there is no love between them. He has always been in love with the FL and the Princess loves one of the guys that ends up dying.

Because they did not die during the journey. The Princess stayed in the An state for one of those marriages between states to keep peace and most of them died on their way back to the Wu state while others died during war.

The Princess marries Li Tong Guang who ends up running the An state near the end. The Wu state is run by her other older brother since the original emperor gets killed before making it back to the Wu state.

I actually did watch it too. LOL
Even in this one, the FL is "dead" and comes back alive. The problem in the end is that we never see the main leads after their supposed death. And when we do see them they are together with the guys we know were dead and buried, which makes it seem like they joined them in death. The ending is open to interpretation but as much as I usually like to see things in a positive light, aka be delusional, I was unable to do that with the ending of this drama.

The ending is very out there, makes no sense at all. But I believe they are dead because of the way they died. The FL dies in a explosion that would be hard to escape and the ML was stabbed several times by a bunch of spears, hard to survive that. Everyone acts like they are dead after. In fact the FL goes on a suicide mission and supposedly blows herself up with the enemy BECAUSE the ML is already dead and she does not see a reason for her to stay alive if she has to live life without him.

The end scene does seem to hint at them being alive, only because of the kid scene, but it is filmed in a flower field that almost feels like paradise and then you see the mains in a horse together will all the other guys we know for a fact are dead, hinting that they all died and met each other in the afterlife or something. The ending was very confusing, like the writers wanted people to not be sure if they are dead or not, but realistically speaking, it makes more sense for them to be dead.

Seeing I dropped both of the other dramas related to this one (I rarely drop dramas), I think I will probably just skip this one. These dramas are really boring. The actors deserve better scripts. I have no idea why they made so many of these while so many great dramas out there won’t even get a second season.

Basically, the drama focus on the journey of the ML, FL and 4 other guys that are responsible for taking Princess Yang Ying to the State of An to recover her dumb older brother, who is an idiot Emperor. Out off all of them, only the Princess survives in the end, so yeah, even the ML and FL die.

Wow wow wow..can't believe that I can see this pairing again..
Me neither. Wish I could see them in a second season of Princess Agents. It ended in such a cliffhanger.

For sure. Deaths in Chinese historical dramas are nothing new, but this one leaves alive a lot of the supporting characters while killing ALL of the characters that pretty much make the entire drama. A better name for this drama would be A Journey to Death. Sigh

I think 2 of them die a few episodes before episode 35 but on episode 35 another one of them dies and it starts to feel like a joke, like the writers just want to kill every character the viewers like. And for the rest of the episodes more characters die, I won’t even talk about the last episode.

But yeah, it is a good drama, I would have still watched it, just not with my mother to keep her from all the frustration. I like to know when I am getting into a drama with a tragic ending before watching so I can be mentally prepared, as much as possible. ^^'

Done. I moved the parts that revealed too much into the reply which is marked as a spoiler. I left the warning in caps so people will still be drawn to it and read the spoiler if they want.

WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK. Check the spoiler below to find out why you might want to stay away from this one or at…
I chose to watch this one with my mother because I know she loves this kind of drama with a badass female lead and a lot of fighting. BUT I did so because at the time I added it to my plan to watch list I trusted a comment that said this had a happy ending. I mean, we can all be delusional and pretend it was but was it really?? I prefer happy endings but I am ok with tragic or open endings when done well, but my mother cannot stand those kind of endings and it ruins the whole drama for her.

Overall it was a good drama ........... until they started to kill off all the important characters one after the other, not even sparing the main leads. I mean, I knew there were going to be deaths, it is a Chinese drama, Yuan Lu was expected because of his illness and I thought maybe they might kill one or two of the main group, but ALL OF THEM?? One after the other in the most senseless way.

They survived all sorts of impossible fights but suddenly they are unable to dodge weapons coming at them, or do dumb stuff like sacrificing yourself for a man you wanted dead, running a bunch of miles with a health problem, no resting, no food or medication, fight a bunch of enemies while unable to see and exploding themselves with the enemies. Come on, the characters were killed just for the shock value, they knew the viewers would be angry and sad and would remember the drama for longer. And then to make that half-assed ending just so we can allow ourselves to be delusional and think the main leads somehow survived and had kids...yeah sure, but then they come in horses next to all the other dead people, so which one is it?

Anyway, my mother was so disappointed that she told me to give the drama a bad rating. I did not just because we both enjoyed most of it, but the last 5 episodes or so were a joke and because of that I rated it a lot lower than I thought I would based on the rest of the drama.

The first few episodes were interesting but then it started to focus too much on palace politics . If the palace politics were executed well I might have still enjoyed it, like I did while watching other dramas in the past that did the same, but they weren’t so I started getting quite bored and skipping scenes.

The romance was also not my cup of tea, quite dull and lacking chemistry. If anything, the high point was Jo Jung Suk’s acting, which was great as usual.

Ikr? I finished Scent of Time and a few weeks later was watching Love Me, Love My Voice. Then when I checked I…
I just replied to someone else‘s comment on the spur of the moment because I agreed with that person that Zhou Ye has been in many of the dramas that have aired recently. That is why I did not check things like filming dates and was just commenting based on the fact that I have watched 3 of her dramas that aired just a few months apart.

I agree that the Chinese fandom tend to be toxic and that ZLS has been getting a lot of haters for some reason (not sure why since she is a great actress and seems like a nice person, go figure). I do not belong to any fandom and rarely go deep into details about the actors and their filming schedules and stuff like that. When I say I am a ZLS fan I mean I like most of her dramas and will be super excited when she stars in a new drama but I do not go as far as to research about things like her filming schedule and what she has been doing lately.

I did notice she did not appear in as many dramas lately compared to maybe the last 2 years, but since I rewatched Love Like The Galaxy with my mother, then Who Rules The World and since my mother started liking ZLS a lot too I also rewatched The Long Ballad with her, all 3 in a row. Probably why the timeline is a mess in my head and I thought I was seeing ZLS on screen a lot more, when in fact the more recent dramas I watched of her were just 2 - Hidden Love and The Last Immortal. ^^'

Anyway, glad we got things figured out. Happy drama watching for you too. ^^

The dubbing is delayed, and subs are okay. Ughh! Not sure why they were determined to use Park Min Young. I love…
I think this drama was filmed many years ago and got delayed because of the ban against dramas with Korean actors. Bai Lu might have not even been acting yet when this was filmed. But Dilraba and Yang Zi were already around, so I agree that they should have used a Chinese actress. Not sure why back then they were so obsessed with staring Korean actors, maybe to make Chinese dramas get more international attention. Who knows.

whats the year of production ? PMY vibe is giving me the city hunter year looking
I think I remember this drama being set to air many years ago and then getting canceled because dramas with Korean actors were banned. So yeah, it should be pretty old, like at least 7 years if not more.
