I enjoyed watching this one but I have same opinion as some other people in the comment section - this should have been 12 episodes long, not 14.
The last episode had like 10 minutes that were worth watching and in the last 4 episodes or so there were a lot of scenes that I felt were unnecessary so if they had condensed it into 12 episodes instead of 14 it would have been a more enjoyable watch.
I get you believe me but I still feel you should go till the end. part 2 improves their relationship a lot and…
It was split into two parts, the first is 27 episodes long and the second 29 so it has a total of 56 episodes but if you have watched longer dramas then you will be fine.

Historical k-dramas used to be pretty good but in recent years I have found myself not enjoying most of them. For modern day dramas usually I prefer Korean but for historical dramas I tend to lean more towards Chinese nowadays.

If you have not started it yet, I also recommend Love like the Galaxy. I actually did not like My Dearest that much, for some of the reasons you mentioned. Not that the drama was bad, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Love like the Galaxy is well-balanced, there is a lot more romance and light-hearted parts to balance the heavier ones and the main leads work together most of the time. You will just need a little patience since there are a lot more episodes. Chinese dramas tend to drag things for longer. ^^'
1. It’s about 2nd love. So if you a person who values faithfulness & cannot take that both FL & ML falls in…
I definitely agree with you. Once a person dies, the wife/husband is free to marry again and it is a personal choice if that person wants to do it or not. There is nothing wrong with remarrying after your spouse dies.
With that said, Perly Star has replied to my previous comments and it seems like she just did not express herself the right away. She meant to say that this drama might not be for people who want the main leads to have only liked each other their entire lives and not people who would be uncomfortable with the fact they have both been previously married.
You will find lots of differences... this one has suspense and twists
Seems more like my cup of tea. Although I enjoyed PMR, it had a soap opera kind of vibe, like one of those long daily dramas condensed in 12 episodes. So this one might be more to my taste.
Some wise words. I thought that I was the only one who noticed how hyped this one was. Some of the best dramas…
We probably just have different tastes when it comes to dramas. I am also a very picky watcher and have a hard time defining my type of drama because some of the dramas I liked the most have completely different genres, romance, crime, thriller, tragedy, historical, it is all over the place. I would say that what makes me consider a drama good is the plot, the acting, the music, the editting...if all these things are done right I will probably like it.
I have also noticed that my mood influences how I feel about a drama. It has happened before that I dropped a drama because I just wasn’t in the right mood for it. Came across it again a few years later and binge-watched the whole thing. ^^'

My bad. The way you worded it almost sounded like the main leads were unfaithful people. XD But yeah, some people can only watch dramas where the main leads are each other’s first love or at least first marriage, which is not the case here.

I know you said you are old school but your first point is extreme. I am someone who values faithfulness, who would never forgive infidelity and I am still single because if and when I find someone it is going to be that person and no one else, if for some reason he ended up dying I would probably never marry again.
With that said, technically both main leads are no longer married the moment the spouses died, it has also been quite some time since this happened so it is not like they are being unfaithful.
For a moment I almost thought I was reading the synopsis for Perfect Marriage Revenge. Anyway, usually I do not watch dramas with infidelity, but the concept here is interesting and going back to the past is a pretty convenient way to get rid of a cheating husband. XD
I initially enjoyed watching this but it didn’t keep my interest. I found it quite boring after a few episodes,…
My sister is having the same problem while I loved it. The main difference we had was that she watched a bunch of episodes in a row while I watched 1 or 2 episodes a day while having lunch and before going back to coding. This drama is very chill, no conflicts, slow-paced so it is perfect for watching while you are eating (definitely don’t recommend watching it while hungry) or during a break.
I watched the last 5 or 6 episodes all on the same day and found myself skipping a lot more scenes. So yeah, this is a good drama but because it lacks any sort of conflicts or an elaborate plot, it has to be enjoyed slowly, like a cup of tea, not gobbled up like a slice of cake. XD
Hope that made sense. I went to cooking school before deciding to become a programmer so I always like to use food in my analogies. ^^'

That is because you have no idea how long my completed list is. I joined MDL in 2017 but had been watching dramas way before that. I am not exaggerating when I say I have watched thousands of dramas. So it would take at least 2-3 hours to go over that list and pick some of the best dramas, while it took me just a few minutes to write that comment.
I am not sure how long you have been watching dramas, but I am pretty sure you will watch A LOT of dramas that are better than this one and that do not have a rating as high, which proves my point, this drama is overrated.
well yes! teenagers and young adults ARE the target demographic of this show. why are you guys so surprised? it's…
I have seen better youth shows, and I still consider myself to be part of the "young people". It is not the youth part, it is the cast and having hot guys in a band and the rise of social media in recent years that hyped this drama so much.
Although the initial idea was interesting, they did not execute it well and that was most obvious by the way it ended. It was a very superficial ending that took away all the essence of the drama, the characters and their personal struggles. The message that was sent to the viewers in the end was not a great one, which is why I think only teenagers and young adults that spend hours on social media hyping this up or have a very superficial understanding of life would think this deserves to be rated as one of the best dramas on MDL.
I can tell from the amount of replies you have left to my previous comments that you loved this drama, that is great, I am glad you enjoyed it.
But just because I have a different opinion does not mean you can make it less valid by mentioning other hyped dramas (King the land, My Demon, True Beauty or Love Alarm) as if I ever said they were better than this one. I am not a new drama fan that came with the hype of recent years and only watches the most recent dramas. I have been watching dramas for almost 15 years, my drama experience goes a lot further than the dramas you mentioned, which are all pretty recent. The plot, the acting, the execution in general matter a lot more to me than the cast or how hyped a drama is. I have given high ratings to underrated dramas and low ratings to dramas that are hyped and all over social media.
Having watched this one from beginning to end and thinking about all the dramas I have watched in general, this was not a great drama, and that is just my personal opinion. I have re-watched quite a few dramas and watched a few new ones with my mother and this was the first one I had to watch the rest on my own because she found it boring. My sister, who has also been watching dramas for many years, dropped it before I even started watching it.
You are free to disagree, just don’t do it by assuming my opinion is based on watching a few hyped dramas.
Young adults? Did you get something wrong while watching this drama? I am far from being a teen and the thought…
I have watched almost every drama out there, so of course I watched those 2 too, but I was not even thinking about those when I said "many high school dramas". I was thinking more about high school dramas with a similar vibe, most of which were not even Korean dramas.
Some wise words. I thought that I was the only one who noticed how hyped this one was. Some of the best dramas…
I did not say anywhere that some of the best dramas I watched had a similar storyline or setting to this one.
The initial idea for this drama was cool but they completely botched it up along the way, especially with the way it ended. Execution is as important if not more important than the idea.
I have watched thousands of dramas, there is no way I am going through all of them just to give you the name of 5 that are similar to this one in some way. I don’t have all that free time. Been quite busy lately. ^^'

The plot idea was not bad but the execution was terrible. From the editing to the acting to the badly done makeup, this was just hard to watch.
