It subbed on VIU
I might have gotten the episodes from telegram or watched in my native language, so I don’t have a link that I can share. Sorry.

I skimmed through it since it was not really my cup of tea but I think where I watched all episodes were subbed, I am just trying to recall where I watched it since I did not add the link to my notes. ^^'

I wanted to watch this, hope one day goes to viki because i can't with mangotv subs. 🙁
If you scroll down you can find a comment I left 2 months ago for the Viki request form. If a lot of people fill the form requesting this drama there is a higher chance of Viki picking it.

Title Stand by Me
It was definitely slow moving/slice of life style that was biographical of the FL… yet, somehow I could not…
Yeah, I read about in in another comment.

Some dramas have specials, but honestly, I think it makes more sense to give a drama a proper ending than adding an extra episode that would not be needed if they just wrapped up things nicely.

well so you are biased towards the Female lead not the character itself since you talked about her previous works…
Yeah, I have nothing bad to say about her acting, maybe she was on a bad streak with the dramas she picked. I agree that Rowoon’s character was also not written well, it was just that it was more noticeable with the FL. The actors did gread, it was more of a writting issue. But, yeah, hopefully she will be on some great dramas next.

I also wanted to know what happened which is why I finished it but I wish they made it more interesting. I was also not satisfied with the ending, after watching for so many hours I think we deserved more than that.

I would not say I am biased (at least I wasn’t until now) or I would not have kept watching as soon I saw the actress. After this drama, I am starting to get the feeling that the actress does not pick great dramas. I liked some of her dramas but did not love any of them, like something was missing from the plot. So I guess I was not biased before but might be from now on after watching so many dramas that were ok but not great.

But yeah, what really bothered me was not the actress, it was the character. For a 2023 drama the way her character was written left much to be desired. The way the FL behaved and a lot of her decisions made me question her intelligence or why the ML even fell for her, spells and curses aside. I just wish her character was better written, she is the FL after all. It is hard to explain but it was just the way I felt. She also wasn’t the only character that could have been written better, but oh well.

Overall, it was still a good drama, I rated it 7 which for me means a drama I might re-watch. 9 is the higher rating I have given a drama and only 6 out of thousands I have watched got this rating. ^^'

Psycopaths do not need a reason to kill. They do it for fun. My guess is he killed his "sister" because he did…
No problem. I like discussing dramas I enjoyed and this was definitely one of those.

They were not really his targets, just his toys. He met Ma Tae Wa abroad and decided he wanted to "mentor" him, in other words make him feel all powerful when in reality Dex was pulling all the strings.

Dex enjoyed caos and manipulating other people into causing caos was fun to him. Once he was done playing with them or they became people who could bring him down, he got rid of them. He killed the father to give the son a false sense of control and then killed the son when he became arrogant and also because he did not need him anymore. He kept him alive just long enough to bring the ML into his trap.

I believe that he might have wanted to "mentor" Seol too, he was even willing to die for it, that is how insane he is. Turning someone who used her hands to save lives into someone who takes lives would be the ultimate prize to him.

First few episodes were interesting then it felt like it was plotless then near the end it recovered. Rowoon carried this on his back. The FL was so badly written.

The actress has played the FL on some high rated dramas but for some reason I personally have rated all those (the ones I watched) below average - 7 or under. This one was probably the one I rated highest and I rated it 7. I might have to start avoiding the dramas where she plays the FL. ^^'

Can someone explain to me what is the main reason of Dex killing people?
Psycopaths do not need a reason to kill. They do it for fun. My guess is he killed his "sister" because he did not want to share their parents attention with her, specially considering she was the biological kid while he was adopted. And from then on, and just like he said himself, he started playing "God" by taking people’s lives because he felt powerfull doing it.

Forget the drama poster, forget the synopsis, watch this as Luo Qi Qi’s journey, maybe you will feel less disappointed.

I liked the first few episodes, maybe until episode 10 or so and then the drama just felt like a bunch of nothing to me. This is basically about the FL’s life and I know this is supposed to be a realistic youth drama but damn, her life is more boring than mine. I was expecting a time skip at some point or something but the drama was mostly about her studying to become the best student while stuff happened around her. I related to her in some ways at first but that was about it. The drama lost me along the way.

Agree with you on all counts. Couldnt have said it all better myself
Same. I started watching dramas around 2010 and I am a picky person by nature. I have watched all kinds of dramas from fluffy romanctic dramas to full of gore zombie dramas. What I want is a well-written drama where it is obvious the writers know exactly where they want to go with the plot. This was definitely not one of those.

Glad I found someone who shares the same opinion in a comment section full of only positive things to say about this drama. ^^'

This will be an unpopular opinion but this is not underrated at all, in fact the rating is way too high for what this drama has to offer.

The first half or so the drama was more on the comedy side and considering the whole seeing memories by touching someone’s butt, it made sense. But the second half went full on criminal drama...the problem is I have been watching dramas for over 10 years and am a huge fan of criminal stuff, and as a criminal drama this was bad. Sure, they kept you guessing who the killer was BUT what is the point of that if what they give us as the wrap up is full of loose ends? The ending was also pretty lame. Sorry if you enjoyed it and feel offended by this comment, but I really cannot stand writers who dont know where they wanna go with a plot.

This could have been a good romantic comedy, this could have been a great crime/thriller, but because the writer decided to make a soup with a bunch of genres, it was neither.

Sure, I enjoyed some parts of it, mainly the first half (me being a crime fan, that says a lot), but the overall experience was average and if I could go back in time I would probably choose to spend the time I wasted watching this watching a different drama.

Well, that was my opinion, an unpopular one it seems. ^^'

Yikes, after reading about his controversy it made him seem very similar to his character in Somebody, except for the serial killer part. He does not even see people as humans if he judges them based on their looks. I won’t be able to watch him in any romantic drama when I know now what is going through his mind when he looks at the people working with him, including staff working on the set.

They kiss at least once on a beach, but yeah
Imagine a drama that gives us a proper kiss the night before the leads marry. Yeah, they definitely messed up. If they focused on developing their romance and raising the baby it would have been a lot more interesting.

Compared to most dramas airing around the same time, this one was pretty nice. Not amazing or anything but pretty entertaining with a female lead that is not the usual weak clumsy needs saving all the time. In fact, she is manlier than the male lead. ^^'

Unfortunately, the subs are pretty bad. I watched with portuguese subs that were a little better than the english subs but were still not up to my usual standards. The fact that I even finished it when I am usually unable to stand bad subs says a lot about how much I wanted to watch it.

I am pretty sure the bad subs contributed to the rating. With good subs this would probably have a rating of 8 or above.
