It was so predictable that even after the reveal of who Kiho was so many still didn't believe it lmao!! But jokes…
haha, I don’t know why people would think it was too much after watching the first episode. Her dream is to be a singer, she is good at it, it was expected for it to be an important part of the drama.
I guess we all have different preferences and expectations. ^^

It is not that being predictable is necessarily negative but since I was not really interested in most of what was going on with Yoon Ran Joo and Seo Mok Ha’s part of the story was developing too slowly I wanted something that would keep me invested in the drama so I wanted something to not go as expected, I wanted to be surprised.

But yeah, you are right, this is not a mystery thriller so I don’t know what I was expecting. I guess I was just bummed we did not see Mok Ha sing more often. ^^'

I see what you mean, but I think this is a plot synopsis issue? I agree the synopsis could be better, but that's…
Yes, it was well written and knew how to move the viewers. It just was not what I was expecting and I was not in the right mood when I watched it so I could not appreciate it as much as most people did.

I have also realised that my mood and expectations influence how I feel about a drama.

I was mislead by the synopsis and drama title and I was in the mood for something exciting and fast-paced.

I have literally watched a Chinese drama not long ago that had 40 episodes, a bunch of main characters and was super slow paced and loved it. So I guess I just was not in the right mood or had the right expectations when I watched this.

I still felt like it had many positives and loved the music and most of the characters.

But this is exactly what led me to write my first comment. I wanted to make sure that people had the right expectations going into this instead of being mislead into believing this was something that it was not and then be disappointed and give the drama a low rating.

No way, please let this be real. I miss the whale attorney. That is what we call her at home, but in our native language - a advogada das baleias. XD

Sure, there are other dramas that needed a second season more than this one, but I definitely do not mind a second season as long as they are able to make it as good as the first season.

True. The title of the drama itself also gives off the impression the drama will focus on her. I really liked the first episode. It put the bar high. I felt like most of the other episodes were not on the same level. There was so much focus on other characters that I was bored at times.

I was never a fan of plots with many main characters. When too much is going on I feel like nothing is going on. I know, I‘m weird.

I was pleasantly surprised too. And she is not even a singer. I know it’s her voice because I can recognize…
That is what I told my sister. Even if they used auto-tune, she has to be able to sing ok at least, because if she was terrible they would not be able to achieve this end result.

Since the moment they appear Kang Bo Geol and Kang Woo Hak are introduced as brothers. I never said they were biological brothers or that any of the 2 were Jung Ki Ho. And when I mentioned the father, I said Jung Ki Ho’s father and never metioned the brothers in the same sentence. Maybe I made it too obvious, which is why I marked the comment as spoiler. ^^'

I personally felt like I knew who Ki Ho was from the moment they found her on the island. I have been watching Korean dramas for a long time so I catch onto little hints here and there. I was certain it was him by episode 2 or 3. There was just something about the look on his eyes, his voice and personality that reminded me a lot of Ki Ho and throughout the first few episodes they threw quite a few hints here and there. I was so sure it was him that if the writers had revealed Ki Ho was someone else, I would probably not buy it.

Wait, what? Saying that the drama is focused on Yoon Ran Joo and the brothers instead of Seo Mok Ha is not telling the plot. It is just letting people know not to expect the plot to focus on Seo Mok Ha cause it doesn’t. That will allow people to have the right expectations in case they are coming and expecting to watch the protagonist grow as a singer like is implied by the drama title and synopsis.

But since everyone’s perception of what is a spoiler is different, I will mark it as a spoiler. For me a spoiler is revealing the identity of a character or saying a character dies or something like that.

If this is really Park Eun Bin's voice, I'm totally hooked. Her voice here is incredible. Especially when she…
I was pleasantly surprised too. And she is not even a singer. I know it’s her voice because I can recognize it when she sings and I have also read the actress sang herself. But my sister told me there is a lot of auto-tune involved and that she heard her sing during an interview and her voice was not that great so I am not sure what to think.

Either way, auto-tune or not, whatever I heard was pretty amazing.

You’re the second person asking me to mark it as spoiler but I do not see where the spoiler is. I did not reveal who her friend is or anything that happens in the plot. Please, let me know what did I say that is a spoiler so I can edit.

Am I the only one who is seriously frustrated and annoyed by the subtitles on Netflix? Look, I am not fluent in…
I felt the same. I watched in my native language, Portuguese, because I was watching with my mother and time and time again I had to correct the translations and explain to her what was actually said in Korean.

This was not a bad drama, I liked a lot of things about it BUT it had a huge flaw - it focused on everything but the protagonist.

I was expecting the drama to focus on Seo Mok Ha, on her adapting to modern society (I mean, she was alone in an island for 15 years), her career and progression as a singer, her romance...yet most of the drama she becomes a supporting character in Yoon Ran Joo’s story and in the brothers story.

For a 12 episode drama, there were way too many sub-plots and main characters. Yoon Ran Joo’s story and dialogs with president Lee were mostly boring and the brothers story was predictable. I was pretty sure who Jung Ki Ho was early on, how he got to where he was and how he was related to each character around him. Even the actions of his father down to the last episode were way too predictable.

With that said, they should have found a better balance. The sub-plots should have remained in the background and the focus should have been on Seo Mok Ha.

So my opinion is that this was not a bad drama, it had some good lessons and music and it made us feels all sorts of emotions, but to me it was not as good as it could have been or as I had expected it to be.

This is just my opinion. I have been watching Korean dramas for almost as long as Seo Mok Ha stayed on that island so my expectations are pretty high.

This seems like your usual cliché plot that has nothing new to offer but I am surprised the rating is already so low at 7.2

I will wait a while before watching to see if there are any changes. I still have a lot of dramas I want to finish before that anyway.

This is like the female stalker version of Iyashi no Otonari-san ni wa Himitsu ga aru, but worse. Haven’t watched this one yet, just my thoughts after reading the synopsis.

As a person with a good mental health, most of the time, I understand this is fiction and all but I worry what kind of message this is putting out there. Wouldn’t this be an incentive for stalkers and distort the way victims see stalking? What if people start thinking this is normal and acceptable?

I am mostly worried about teenagers since they are very susceptible. Seems like it has been a trend for them and young adults to get into and remain in toxic relationships and I believe media and the entertainment industry have played a big role in this.

I’m on ep 6. Which episode range should I skip or fast forward through so it doesn’t drag. I like it so far
Hard to say, for me it dragged for most of the drama. Everytime it looked like the main leads would get together they did not, then they did but it did not feel like they were together, then there was lack of communication, the characterization was a mess.

But if you are liking it so far, keep going. If you start getting annoyed with all the push and pull, just skip around like I did.

This should be named Only for Bai Lu and Dylan Wang cause they were the only reason I even kept watching.

This should have been at most 24 episodes. The push and pull game between the main leads was tiring to watch. They took the phone ringing to interrupt kiss to a whole other level. There were way too many supporting characters and secondary couples. It was so draggy and slow it was painful to watch with only a few scenes here and there that I liked.

The more I watched the more I felt like the director thought since Bai Lu and Dylan Wang were the leads that is was enough for us to see them on screen and there was no need to put any effort into the plot and characterization.

These are my honest thoughts, I am not a hater, I just think the actors deserved better than this.

it’s now on viki!
The episodes are not out yet but I can see they added a page for it. I am not sure I will watch it since it does not seem like a great drama and I have quite a few dramas I am watching right now but thank you for letting me know.
