Kang Hye Won is the perfect example of how some people only care about looks. Aside from being pretty she has…
I think I remember in her audition the judges placed her in group F and pretty much said she was pretty and had charisma or something like that. Then the public voted for her and she was able to join izone. But from a talent point of view she should not have been able to make it into the group. It was all the public. ^^'
But maybe she can improve her acting with a lot of effort and practice. It should be easier to learn how to act than to learn how to sing. For singing no matter how much you practice, if you don’t have a good voice it will be hard to sing well.
Well, well, well, I love the idea of having the past and present stories run parallelly to each other. However…
Kang Hye Won is the perfect example of how some people only care about looks. Aside from being pretty she has no talent whatsoever but was chosen to be part of izone and even had a better ranking than some of the other girls of the group that were way better. I have not watched this drama yet since I want to be in a certain mood to watch something so sad, but I am pretty sure her acting is as good as her singing and dancing.
P.S. - I am not a hater. I am just being realistic. I watched all the episodes of Produce 48 and there was not even one single moment I thought she had enough talent to enter the final group. She did not sing well, she did not dance well and she was so stiff. Even after she made it into the group, most of their videoclips she does not sing or dance much and is mostly shown sitting somewhere looking pretty. That means that even the professionals that were behind the choreographies and lyrics knew very well that there was nothing they could do with her but just let her be there for the sake of it, she was picked by Korean people after all, they could not just remove her from the group. ^^'
Yeah, this tiktok generation is ruining dramas. Kids are unable to sit through an entire episode and want fast…
I think I can count with one hand how many short dramas I actually fully enjoyed. It is hard to develop something in such a short time and most of these short dramas have low budgets and hire rookie actors which only makes it worse. The plot is also often mediocre.
The ones I did like were 10-15mins per episode. 5 minutes or less is just too short and rushed.
But I agree that when episodes are too long and there is nothing going on, it can be boring. I see that in some Thai dramas that have episodes that are 90 minutes long. Each episode is like watching a movie. If they don’t pace it well and make the plot interesting, it is hard not to feel like skipping a few scenes here and there. ^^'
I've noticed Cdramas are taking a page out Jdramas books. They really been doing short-length series for times.
Yeah, this tiktok generation is ruining dramas. Kids are unable to sit through an entire episode and want fast and easy entertainment even if it lowers the quality of it. I would be ok with 20 minutes long episodes, like animes and some jdramas, but some of these dramas are not even 3 minutes per episode. There are ads that are longer than that. Sigh
Not as great as some people are making it out to be. Being a short drama for me is already a big disadvantage since I have only really liked 2 or 3 of the Chinese short dramas I have watched. Most of them are clearly low budget plotless dramas with bad acting and too much fan service. To make matters worse, the subs for this one are not great either.
The plot and acting were average, to be nice, with a cliché rushed plot with the same ending of many other c-dramas because of the whole time-travel censorship stuff.
The good points would probably be the cooking, the chemistry between the leads and the female lead’s personality, but these were not enough to beat the negatives for me so I cannot really recommend this one or say I would re-watch it because I wouldn’t.
In conclusion, for me, this was just another short drama like all the others that have been airing recently.
You let a trailer decide if the drama is good..hate to laugh at that lol
I don’t, that is why I said I would come back to read the comments. Sometimes the drama is actually good and the trailer just doesn’t do it justice. It was just the impression it gave me.
I don’t make decisions on impressions only. I would be missing out on plenty of good dramas if I did that.
Maybe I am wrong but the only thing I liked about the trailer was the kid, he is cute. I don’t know if the trailer was just not great but it gave me the impression the plot is boring. I will come back later to check the comments and see if it’s worth watching.
Let me know once season 3 comes out. I have not watched season 1 yet because I have been through this waiting quite a few times and it sucks to wait years for a sequel and sometimes not even getting one at all.
I thought Xiao Yu's reaction to the villain's face was surprising and implausible. When and where did she meet…
Exactly. With that reaction the person would have to be her boyfriend, her friend or her friend’s boyfriend. Since in the last episode they had 2 versions of the male lead in the same space I thought they could have made the villain the FL herself.
The villain was too focused on killing her. Wu Yu also went back and "messed things up" but it was her that was always targeted. So I thought it would be a better twist if her future self was trying to kill her old self to prevent all the tragedies or something like that. That would explain many things like how the focus was on killing the FL, why this person was always one step ahead, the reaction of the friend when seeing the killer’s face, why the FL did not exist for a year while all the others although with some memory loss seemed to have moved on with their lives during that year, and so on. And of course the murderer of the other women would be one of the people who went on the cruise and not really the true person behind the mask.
Their choice of a villain was not only predictable but also left many holes in the plot and made the ending less exciting.
Not bad but could have been better. 30 episodes was an overkill for this kind of plot. The pace felt very slow at times and I found my self skipping a lot because of that.
The choice of a villain was quite predictable too. I was reading the comments as I was watching the episodes and it seems like most people were like me and figured out who it was before we even reached the middle of the drama.
The ending was also more or less the way I expected, no twist or surprise there.
A few other things that could have been better were the editing of the scenes that involved fantasy elements or scenes on the ship. Most of the times everything looked very fake, as we usually see in low budget dramas which I am sure this was not.
The plot itself was very flawed too but managed to grab my attention and keep me watching so I do not want to complain too much about it.
With that said, I would have kept this shorter - maybe 16 or 24 episodes, would have changed the villain, improved the editing, covered some plot holes and made the ending more surprising with a little twist.
I even thought about how I would have changed it. A little hint without spoiling, remember the reaction of the friend when she was attacked? She was shocked, she knew the attacker and since the writers decided to make something possible at the end that we thought was not allowed, I would break the same rule and make the "bad guy" the person you are thinking about. That would be a cool twist and would explain why that person was always a step ahead. If you figured out who I am talking about, you can reply to this comment with a spoiler and I will explain what in my opinion would have been the perfect ending for this drama.
Ikr? The only reason they killed his character was to give the father a chance to redemption, which I could not care less about if I am being honest. I would rather have the father die so everyone could have some peace and the second main leads could have their happy ending.
The infidelity is a bit special here. The cheated husband is himself a cheater and a violent man and his wife…
Technically she was already divorced when she even got herself romantically involved with the ML. So the infidelity tag is probably because of the husband.
I went through a lot of emotions while watching this, mostly anger and in the later episodes sadness. It was a rollercoaster. Even the main leads got me frustrated at some of their attitudes.
But I want to see this as the journey of a woman who was treated like trash by some of the people who should have cared for her to seeing her self-worth and healing and finally finding happiness.
With that said, if I could choose a character to kill I would have chosen the father, pretty early on too. If allowed to kill a few more characters, I would send the ex-husband, ex-girlfriend and the ex-mother-in-law. It angers me that aside from the father who got a taste of his own poison near the end, the villains did not face real consequences. The ones who suffered the most were completely innocent and deserved to be happy. T T
I have watched several dramas with a similar plot and I think this one is very flawed. Probably the biggest flaw is how the whole reason for her to try to change the past and the mystery around the person who was blackmailing her felt so lacking. The back and forth between the ml and sml also took too long to resolve and the ending was just ok.
It is not a bad drama per say, but it could have been much better.
