A journey of a hero and redemption. Rated it 7.5/10
Rating this 9/10
The biggest drawback of this drama is the paper-thin story. There is no denying the fact that this is not a well story written show. It does not explain anything and feel like a compilation of scenes for cuteness. Like how does the time stop ability never used to stop death? Objectively speaking, if the leads were different this drama would have bombed. All the hype were for the good-looking actors and their chemistry. FL out acts the ML in the entire drama. None of the side characters were of any importance and you will hardly remember them unless you are fans of those actors.
Rating it 7.5/10
There was no chemistry between the leads. Their relationship felt forced and fake throughout. Even if people are dying, you don't feel anything about them. As the other comment says, all characters have only 2 braincells and sometimes even one. I like watching slow burn drama but this is not it. You can forward or skip entire episodes and you won't miss anything.
Rated 5/10 because this drama made me feel something only for last 5 minutes of episode-7
Neglectful parents, abusive parents and absentee parents. The trifecta representing the leads. Drama is a representation of adults failing kids in all parts of life whether it was home, school, police, hospitals etc.
Also, I am going to tell my future generation about importance of Instagram follow back and the consequences of not doing it.
Rating this 9/10 and looking forward to second season,
Rated it 6.5/10
Romance between the leads is just a toxic relationship. ML may not be perfect but he deserves better. Both of them are wishy washy and this relationship wouldn't last few months if this was real life. But it is super weird for a person to ask removing prosthetic leg like removing clothes, out of nowhere.
Hearing things like this 'I like you but I like Shanghai more' every time you meet while not even in a proper relationship would feel like punch to the gut. Though this is not great, atleast ML is aware of what FL thinks and any choice he makes whether to pursue the relationship or not is his to make. I would also not judge FL for stating things clearly.
Then, FL does not want to breakup nor want to go into a long distance relationship, she decides to get engaged. She does not reveal that she is leaving for Shanghai few days later. This is trapping a person in long term relationship without revealing facts and giving the other person a chance to make choice. A chance which a partner deserves in honest relationship. This is toxicity and manipulation. And having a life changing discussion in a railway station when you are about to leave and telling your partner that you will be away for 2 years shows clearly the power balance of the relationship. If this was real life, the relationship would have ended in railway station.
The issue here is not about career woman who wants to live the life her way. This is about having honest conversation in a relationship and showing basic respect to your partner. This is about disclosing your life plan and future so that your partner has the choice.
I am rating this 4.5/10. This drama had so much potential but....
I was bored in the first episode but got hooked from second episode. Till 12th episode, I felt bad both for kids and the parents because neither of them was right nor wrong. But at some point, I stopped sympathizing with certain characters and started seeing them as unredeemable. Felt really bad for Hye Na's character. The actress surely felt like she is playing her role in Like Flowers In Sand (I know it came later).
I would have rated it 10/10 but I did not like few things about the last 2 episodes. While I understand the intent, giving excuses or redemption arc to characters like Seo Jin, Kim Joo Young, etc, felt misplaced and did not seem true to the essence of rest of the drama. Redemption arc of Ye Seo made sense. Ye Bin should have been the plot device of exposing the details of the murder rather than out of the blue reversal of Seo Jin's character. Woo Joo becoming Dora the explorer also made sense. All evil does not need backstories nor need redemption arc. Somethings can be just left as evil is my personal opinion.
Totally would recommend watching it if you are bored out of usual Romcoms, childhood trauma, time travel, first love returns, chaebol and the other usual KDrama stuff.
Rating it 9.5/10.
