I think the reviews are litttllee harsh.... I've seen worse dramas tbh and the story here isn't awful. yeah its full of plot holes but if you take it with a pinch of salt you can still appreciate it (most supernatural genres dont make sense lets be honest.....). also its starting to make more sense now, and finally samjung is less pathetic than she was in the beginning which is great.

But I thought the scent was related to their blood not their soul, so more of a physical thing to do with the actual bodies. So Asanyeo soul in Sun Mi's body would still have Sam Jung lotus blood? The reason she lost her Sam Jung powers earlier is because wasn't because Sam Jung was connected to her soul but because the story teller woman took away the 'past' Sun Mi that had become Sam Jung in the first place by releasing Oh Gong and therefore the present Sun Mi had never had her blood changed to Sam Jung's. I think the Geumganggo is still attached to Sun Mi the person physically, regardless of Sam Jung or not, which is why he was still connected to her when she lost that. So when Asenyeo goes into Sun Mi's body, he will be connected to her instead regardless of whats inside and will have to go through with the marriage if it happens. I reckon the plot twist of the story will be that the death bell is connected to her Sam Jung fate but not Sun Mi herself and a time will come when she's no longer Sam Jung and then they can be together or something. explains your bell theory. who knows. anything could happen at this point I wouldnt be surprised tbh also i feel like the ring was just symbolic and doesn't acc have any power??? yes i think what makes this the best version is the fact that the ML is waaaayyy more human with emotions and can really feel his love/turmoil for her from early on, unlike in the other adaptations where he is just unnecessarily BLAND! shows that big budgets aren't what make a story great!!!!

But I mean besides the confusion (in my spoiler comment below) i don't think this drama was as bad as everyone is saying in the comments. I agree that the chemistry lacked at times but the story and cinematography were great and there were some great funny/tear jerking scenes throughout. it was a bit slow paced and I had to pause at times to think 'wtf is meant to be happening' but it was still a pleasant romcom to watch compared to some complete shit that came out this year!! i recommend if you want something non-mind stressing and conveniently have time to spare :)
