Sometimes it works out anyway. For instance I know a couple where the woman became pregnant by accident, totally unplanned, and they were poor at the time. Or some people are fond of the idea of becoming parents, but when facing the reality of sleepless nights, diaper changing, vomit and being stuck at home, they actually hate the whole thing and view it as a grudge. You can never know, there's no guarantee on how each person will react faced with the actual situation, because fantasy is one thing and reality might surprise you.

I think that all staples are because Korean audiences like them. For instance I've often wondered about the "Knew each other as children/fated to be together" trope. And many Asian viewers in the comments remarked that it was so sweet and heart-warming and romantic. Go figure!
