He held a press conference before being charged announcing his retirement from the entertainment industry if he were found guilty. A promise he did not honor, since he returned to broadcasting after a year. He held fan-meetings in China and Japan and even a mini-concert in Japan in 2019 and another one in Taiwan. In 2021 he put out his self-produced mini album titled, "Da Capo," on Nov. 5, just two days after the news that Korean police were investigating his brother Yoo-hwan for marijuana use. He was scheduled to return to the screen after 5 years with the movie 'To Evil,' (you can find it here on MDL under the title "On the Edge" https://mydramalist.com/689339-devoted-to-evil) which was to be released in October 2022, but... On September 27th, the court denied his requests for the broadcasting ban to be lifted. The producers of the movie took a great risk and now all their money and efforts have gone to waste. The same goes for the other actors who played in it.
as a fan of DBSK it saddens me to see how low Yoochun has fallen. He was one of the most promising Idol turned…
It's a question of one's choices. Sometimes a young person meets fame and riches too quickly, while not being mature enough yet. We've seen it in many cases in Korean entertainment, and I'm sure also elsewhere. In Korea it's worse because the public is more strict with its idols, it wants them to be role models in conduct as well.
It's completely impossible to know what happens behind closed doors in a place without security cameras. It will remain a mystery, like the Bermuda Triangle. In the meanwhile, we know he was a patron of that establishment.
"Krist, who likes swimming, almost auditioned for the national swimming team but could not due to his father's objection." But then he starred in a BL drama. I bet his father now wishes he had let him become a swimmer, LOL!
We have come to a point when 4, 5,6 %, even 3,4% ratings is considered very good! But Reborn Rich has 19.44%, so in comparison those are really meagre.
I have done acts of service like that (and more) for people whom I like very much as friends. Yes, in the last couple of episodes there's a hint of something more. Veeeeery subtle.
Bad ideas should not be understood based on the idea of cultural differences, they should be criticized no matter…
Been scrolling up and down for five minutes to try and refresh my memory of what the comment was. I give up, LOL. Let's not dwell on it too much, no point in arguing for a drama!
Tbh... we shouldn't underestimate how much a parent can absolutely loathe one of their children and favor the…
Sometimes it works out anyway. For instance I know a couple where the woman became pregnant by accident, totally unplanned, and they were poor at the time. Yet they kept it and ended up being very happy about having a baby and loved it very much. Or some people are fond of the idea of becoming parents, but when facing the reality of sleepless nights, diaper changing, vomit and being stuck at home, they actually hate the whole thing and view it as a grudge. You can never know, there's no guarantee on how each person will react faced with the actual situation, because fantasy is one thing and reality might surprise you.
is it romantic so far? or more focused on life and development?
Not lots of romance so far. You can see they sort of like each other, but if we didn't know they are the main leads we'd think it's a nice friendship which is slowly starting to develop.
if we cut out ji young entirely and just had the romance as a natural by product of the friendship it'd be A+
I think that all staples are because Korean audiences like them. For instance I've often wondered about the "Knew each other as children/fated to be together" trope. And many Asian viewers in the comments remarked that it was so sweet and heart-warming and romantic. Go figure!
