is this drama worth watching? šŸ¤” i don't want to waste my time. Read a lot of negative review about ML acting…
I think this will be a good binge watch for sure. It got frustrating having to wait week to week but it'll be a better experience getting to watch all episodes at once. The plot is a little thin IMO, but the main romance is really lovely.

BWS actually made me cry with his acting, idek what people are talking about he is selling this better than IU imo.

The only flaw is the second lead couple ā€œthe secretariesā€, 100% unnecessary and tbh sometimes unfunny, absolutely…
Yeah I just FF their scenes. I like a good side romance but we literally know nothing about either of them, like esp HJs aid I oculdn't even tell you one thing about her personality.

I have no idea why this won a script writing contest. 1. The pacing is poor-this series actually NEEDED the 16…
I actually think it's the opposite. I think it would have been better as 8 episodes. The plot is WAY too underdeveloped and so the middle section dragged so much that now it feels like the end is rushed, but this would have all felt well paced if it have come around eps 7-8 instead.

The drama is enjoyable but feels disjointed sometimes . For me personally, it's biggest weakness is scriptwriting…
Yeah the script feels REALLY thin. The main political plot is pretty basic and there are also ZERO side storylines which makes the drama feel flat. Like think of all the other characters-HJs brother and SIL and father, the two aids, the QM and her father, the PM, like none of these characters have anything to do outside of the main plot and so it's just not that interesting

The next episode is the last episode but there are still so many topics that were untouched or not discussed at…
YEah I'm disappointed at how her bro and SIL have been totally sidelined. Both actors are eating those roles and I wanted them to be way more integrated into the story. What a waste.

I also do not buy the PMs sudden turn to evil, it makes zero sense. They shoudl have made him kinda a scumbag from the beginning if they wanted this ending. I kept thinking they'd reveal this ep that him and IAN had plotted this together to expose Lord Inpyeong and the queen mother but nooope.

Are yall really shocked the man who watched his brother be forced into a loveless marriage, manipulated, and then…
I agree with you. They've made it pretty obvious that pretty much every royal for the past 30 years has been miserable. Add to that the fact that we're at the point people are trying to assassinate others to gain the crown, the monarchy seems pretty rotten and unnecessary at this point.

Though I feel like he could also just completely take the power away from the monarch, like how it is in England. Like give it no political power whatsoever, maybe even abolish nobility, make it just a cultural position.

Does anyone else find the editing weird in this drama especially this last episode ? Felt like they were cutting…
I noticed that too! Like even within scenes, like when the Prince goes to see his nephew they just cut weirdly back and forth between him staring and the king crying and I was like wtf is happening here.

i kinda don’t want him to abolish the monarchy then again modern day monarchy does no good to him and his wife…
Yeah I can see why he would want to, esp since the last 30 years seem to be just one tragedy after another

Honestly... This is drama, in my opinion, didn't deserve this high rating. It is a good drama? It has his times.…
Yeah I think they're based on the first half of the show, which was a lot better

This arc doesn't make sense - Queen mother 's sudden change of heart. She let her husband 's last wish burn in…
Yeah they def rushed that arc. that woman has been on edge since the night her husband died in the fire years ago , she seems miserable, so it would make sense she might just be done at some point and just be tired of playing the game, esp once she found out her father was actually killing people. But they should have given that more time rather than it happening over like half an episode.

Jeonwoo oppa looking mighty fine in his black villain turtlenecks. I'm digging his turn to the dark side, kinda wish he'd been evil from the beginning.

I still lowkey ship Grand Prince and Queen Mother, they have good chemistry. Hope those two can be leads in another drama.

I wish the writer had gone a different route than cliche historical drama trappings like poisoning, assassinations, usurping the throne, etc, and made it more smartly political or relationship focused tension for the modern setting. The plot feels way too thin for the amount of episodes, too, like I kept expecting there to be some extra layer or twist or more going on but it's all pretty blandly straightforward.

What kind of plot twist was that 😭? I mean, the male lead and that village girl already knew her from before,…
Yeah the Michelle sister or whoever is so confusing, like is she evil, is she just a little disconnected, is she giving him tough love? That storyline is all over the place.

The bad thing is that the protagonists are intelligent but they turn stupid at the slightest provocation, that's…
Humans are not rational at all times and moments. Y'all are acting like these two must be the buddha. They're human beings who have trauma they haven't dealt with. When trauma gets triggered people act purely from a place of fear or emotion. You all are the same too, but sitting here expecting the leads to somehow be perfect.

Man hopefully one day a drama will come out where the sml tries to gaslight the ml like here and he gets his piece…
It wasn't the SML, the ML was already feeling terrible and pulling away, and already looking for a way out of having to actually deal with his issues with her. He didn't do this because the SML said something.

Of all the excuses he could've made he decided to say "you're suffocating me"?? To a person dealing with…
I hate that he said that, but Yejin is stronger than people are giving her credit for. She knows where that was coming from and that it's not really about her.

Dude has spent the past five years in a self-imposed isolation, repressing his own needs to over-give to everyone around him out of guilt and shame he hasn't dealt with, so it's not gonna be resolved with a calm chat over tea. People usually need to reach bottom before they will deal with the real stuff in their life, so he needed to get to this point. He's gonna have to face the fallout of this and grow from it. It would be weird if he didn't lash out at some point with the amount of emotion he has been repressing.

It ain't pretty, and I hate that he said that, and I want them to work it out together, but life really is ugly like this sometimes.

ive honestly never seen such in depth analysis of a drama of this genre before lmaoo usually whenever i watch…
Most of them also are also very confidently wrong. They're calling out stuff as unrealistic that literally happens IRL if they'd bother to do any research. This show has issues and isn't perfect but people are nitpicking it based of vibes istg.

Everything was perfect until the ending… Honestly, the way he spoke to her felt completely unnecessary. We all…
Idk man, what he just displayed is a classic shame reaction. People who haven't dealt with their guilt and shame tend to lash out with it at others and push others away, esp if he can also convince himself she's better off without him or he's better off alone. I usually hate noble idiocy but it actually makes sense given both their backgrounds, and I've seen people who seem to have it all together act just like he did when their deep unresolved shame was triggered, it's really tough to deal with.

I'm still mad at him and it really hurt to hear him be harsh with her, but until he deals with his guilt/shame he can't be a truly good partner to anyone.
