Well, following your encouragement, I watched Episode 7, and you were right—I regret my previous rating. It…
Why are you recapping the plot for me? What, you think I didn't watch it?

"Your" Kim behaved wonderfully, and the scene was perfect—for you. For me, that entire scene was nothing but a display of violence that was clearly meant to feel satisfying, but it was... boring.

And seriously, do you even understand what the word "confrontation" means? You didn't confuse it with "conversation," did you?

And why are you treating me like garbage just because I don't like some mediocre, boringly written Korean drama? Anyway, vent all you want. If it hurts you that much that someone doesn't think this piece of mediocrity is any good, then maybe you'll feel better after letting all that righteous indignation out.

Anyway, I'm done responding to your comments. Bye.

I watched this drama a few years ago, and I remember liking it at first, then not so much. I'm rewatching it now, and it's definitely starting to bore me, but my biggest issue is the main couple.

I'm around Episode 6, and it's driving me crazy that the ML is such an insufferable jerk who—together with his precious mommy—has traumatized the FL so badly. I just don't understand how the FL can simply tolerate him after everything he's done to her and continues to do. What, are a few small gestures of affection and drunken confessions supposed to erase all the humiliation and trauma she's been through?

The only reason I'm still watching is their boss. That guy is an absolute sweetheart—so natural and genuine that I just want to give him a hug and learn how to darn socks :)

you will regret your statement and your review after you watch episode 7.
Well, following your encouragement, I watched Episode 7, and you were right—I regret my previous rating. It dropped from a 7/10 to a 5/10.

I'm not saying this out of spite. It's just that I don't enjoy constant gratification without any real build-up of tension, because it feels like nothing more than an empty webtoon gimmick designed to end every chapter on a cliffhanger so you'll read the next one. The page-turner principle simply doesn't work when you have a 60-minute episode with one of those moments every five minutes. Keeping the audience in a constant dopamine- or adrenaline-fueled state eventually numbs the effect, and what should have been a satisfying payoff—like the confrontation between the two fathers—ends up feeling like just another formulaic fistfight.

Sorry, but it seems we're seeing completely different things in this drama. So, thanks—you changed my mind. It's a 5/10 now.

Either like Groundhog Day or Re:Zero. There was quite a bit of the time-loop trope.

Don't drag me into your hatred of shrimp. I was an XZ fan back in 2020, and you have no idea what hell every single one of us went through back then—how we were demonized, insulted, and harassed simply because we dared to like XZ.

Every example of a fandom being "toxic" that's constantly thrown at XFX—every actor's fandom had that kind of behavior. The only difference was that when it came to XFX, it was demonized.

I don't give a f*ck about your hate-filled comments. I don't even know which actor you're a fan of, but am I supposed to judge that actor and all of their fans based on your vile behavior? Have you no shame? Apparently not.

So f*ck off and leave me alone—and preferably leave XFX alone too, because I still have more friends there than anywhere else. Not loudmouths like you, who are utterly convinced of your own superiority—I'm talking about normal XFX fans, and there are thousands of times more of them than there are bad apples.

So seriously, f*ck off.

TOP TV Shows on Disney+ on May 26, 2026 by Country.PERFECT CROWN IS RANKING #1 IN 28 COUNTRIES WITH 500 POINTS,…
What’s funny is your statement. The average viewer of this drama from the countries you mentioned has no sentimental attachment to Korean history and culture, or even any knowledge of them, so they watch this drama as an exotic little fairy tale filled with tropes they love. I don’t know what country you’re from or whether your nation has any sensitive issues, but I bet it does — because everyone does. And if someone made something offensive toward the history/culture of your nation, your compatriots would have the right to want that insult removed, regardless of whether that drama was top-ranked in 10 or 50 countries around the world. Every nation has its pride and the right to defend it. You don’t like that? I suspect those more than 50,000 Koreans probably won’t care.

Each season has a separate page, like Joy of Life. If you want it to be the same here, edit the drama page by adding a link to an official source (for example, the series’ Weibo page) where it’s clearly stated that this is season one, and then wait for approval. That’s the standard procedure.

Fantasy tag, what is fantasy here , does anybody know
Basically everything. Fantasy isn’t just magic and magical/fantastical creatures — it’s also a historical but unrealistic setting, like fictional kingdoms and fictional kings. So basically, if something resembles real historical places but is entirely made up — and then, like in the first episode, you have living statues or whatever that was — you’ve got fantasy.

Does this get any better? I am on 15th episode and nothing interesting happens and my patience is running out.…
No i doesn't. I dropped it despite the hype and my fondness for XZ, and I don’t regret it. A lot seems to be happening, but there’s basically zero tension, and the plot armor is so strong that it’s just boring. But that’s only my opinion.

I will tell you only this: You provoke them only for one purpose — for your own pleasure — and it shows. You want to display a sense of moral superiority over them, but you don’t have it. No one with moral superiority calls others idiots, especially on a public forum.

I’m already fed up with you, okay, I’m sincerely fed up with you—those of you XZ fans who make a fuss over nothing. This page doesn’t belong to you. Yes, I supported Kokuto, because her statement that there is chaos around the casting with every new drama is true.

As I already wrote earlier, I don’t give a damn whether there is 1 main actor or 10 in this drama—don’t drag me into your pointless wars.

Kokuto and Janec, thank you both for your reasoned and illuminating responses. I do know there are more reasonable…
Seriously? That one statement was enough for you to accuse me of hate and provocation? I honestly can’t believe it. I stand by every word in that paragraph. If you see it as that offensive and hateful—fine, those are your feelings. I don’t see it that way.

I respect XZ and most of his fans; anyone who throws insults at people—regardless of whether they’re someone’s fan or not—doesn’t qualify as a “good apple.” I have nothing against you.

I’m glad you don’t want to argue with me about this, because there’s really nothing to argue about. I appreciate the honesty of your response.

And please don’t drag me into your wars, because the whole issue of whether XZ is the only main actor in this drama or whether there are ten of them—I honestly couldn’t care less.

And why exactly are you attacking me? The user asked a question, and I gave them an answer that contained nothing offensive toward any actor or their fandom, and yet you attack me? For what? What exactly did I write that was so terrible that you feel the need to go after me? At what point did I bring hate onto this site—could you kindly enlighten me?

As you can see, we agree on certain things, but there is definitely one point we do not agree on: “The only diminishing that is going on is Shrimps trying to trash the rest of the cast.” I’ve read many of your comments on this topic—maybe all of them—and while I agree with your reasoning, I ask that you refrain from using statements like the one quoted. I was a Shrimp for many years, and I know dozens of wonderful Shrimps who have never once said a bad word about anyone in the cast just because XZ is in it.

I understand that you have your own issues with certain Shrimps, but your words are aimed at the entire fandom. Your behavior is provocative, and then you complain when someone uses harsh language toward you and take it as proof that you’re a victim of Shrimps? What is the point of your whole argument with MeliSnow1005? You’re conducting it in a calculated way, doing it on a public forum as evidence that Shrimps are bad. Shrimps are not bad. There are a few overzealous or naive fans—I’m not pointing fingers at anyone by username—but you are clearly targeting the entire fandom, and I object to that.

The system on MDL is what it is, and either we as users accept it, flaws and all (you yourself wrote to give the moderators time and to be patient), or we leave the site. Picking a fight with one Shrimp to cast the whole fan club in a negative light has nothing to do with that and only shows your own personal hostility toward Shrimps. I hope that bystanders—if they even feel like reading this ridiculous, pointless thread—will understand your intentions.

Can someone explain to me how the cast list on this site is created and edited? I am reading the novel and the…
I completely agree with you regarding fan behavior. I’ve been a fan of XZ since 2019, and I know he has repeatedly reminded fans never to harm other actors or their fans. But well, every basket has a few bad apples. As you can see, there are a few of them here too—not the entire fandom.

As for the issue of who is listed as a main role and who has a different status, the matter is a bit complicated. I’m allowing myself to reply because I’ve reported various changes several times before—some were accepted, some were not.

First of all, any user can submit a change and support it with an official link. Moderators are different, so sometimes they will check the link, and sometimes they won’t.

However, when it comes to who exactly has a leading role in this drama—well, a drama is not a book. I’ve seen adaptations where a character who was unquestionably the main protagonist in the original source was changed to a supporting role. We don’t know how significant a particular character will be in the drama itself, how much screen time they’ll have, etc.

Even in China, there are often ambiguities and changes, and sometimes one source reports things one way while another says something different. Some moderators on MDL will understand what’s going on; others won’t. Besides, they don’t have to know everything, because this isn’t an academic or professional site—it’s a fan-driven one.

And the fans who speak up so loudly in discussions and arguments come from different countries, different cultures, and different age groups. Many of them genuinely do not understand the actual situation—that there can be more than one person in a leading role.

But this is also partly MDL’s fault, because there is no distinction here for protagonist, antagonist, etc. Because of that, some fans believe the “Main Role” title belongs exclusively to the protagonist. Maybe it would be easier if there were categories like 1ML, 2ML, 1FL, 2FL, etc., but there would probably still be arguments even then.

And as Kokuto said: “Give it time. Every new popular drama gets flooded with edits, and there isn’t a lot of staff, who after all, are volunteers.”

Did you like the Season 1's bad / dark lighting or the fact that 'aliens are coming in 100 years' , 'aliens will…
I’m sorry, but I don’t agree with that interpretation. The discovery that the planet is trapped in the gravity of three suns was the core of the problem—the realization that on a planet so seemingly uninhabitable, life still emerged, and a civilization arose that found a way to adapt and survive. And now, as the planet itself is being torn apart by gravitational forces, that resourceful civilization has no choice but to find a new home.

I still maintain that the greatest source of suspense in the series is precisely the revelation that humanity is not alone in the universe—and that it will have to confront a dangerous civilization that intends to terraform Earth for its own needs. The whole narrative, the entire series, builds toward this culmination, this discovery: we are not alone, and those out there are not safe for us.

It’s simply a brilliantly executed piece of science fiction suspense, and it really works on me. It doesn’t have to work on everyone. Damn, now I feel like rewatching that drama again. It’s a genuinely great piece of cinema made for TV.

Fortunately, I didn't have a situation where nothing was visible on the screen. It might be some monitor settings or a different copy.

As for the video game, it was supposed to be understandable for humans in a human context and not suggest that it had anything to do with extraterrestrial beings. If they had shown aliens, it would have been obvious what it was about. The aliens didn’t want to reveal their existence; they just wanted to solve the problem—or kill people who were smart enough to solve it—I don’t remember, I watched it years ago. Besides, if I’m not mistaken, the game was created with the cooperation of humans, so its creators naturally worked with something they know and understand, not alien physics, which they couldn’t comprehend.

Thanks for the series suggestions. I’ll check them out when I have a free moment. The title rings a bell, but I can't place it at the moment.
