Rieul is definitely one of the best characters of Ji Chang Wook. He showed once again all his potential and versatility at playing a character with complexity. I just wished we could have seen him more.

As I haven’t read the webtoon, I can’t compare the drama with the original work. I didn’t expected that kind of development but I like the drama very much. It’s not my favourite type of story but still that’s a nice coming-of-age short drama, with meaningful messages conveyed through the episodes. I was a little bit worried by the musical side before watching, and finally I liked it quite a lot, I even would have liked to see more musical moments in it. The ending feels a little bit lacking on closure for some of the characters for me, but it’s still okay. The very ending scene was a nice surprised. And 미녀 (Beauty) really deserves a place in the support cast.

No, for you it's lame. That's different. But considering how you answered everybody here it's seem too much to expect from you to elaborate a real opinion or an interesting discussion on the subject so, good for you if you like to just comment everywhere as stupidly as this way (just sharing my opinion too...).

This movie is really stupidly funny. ^^ Japanese are the best at this kind of movies. And I really had so much fun watching it. I haven't liked a comedy that much for a long time. Very good !

I agree with you, he has indeed much more potential than just being stuck in romance. That's why I was very happy with "Fabricated City" and "Hard It", and it's the reason I wish he would play in more movies, as there are better chances to play characters that don't need to be involved in romance.
The next three dramas should definitely be interesting as it will be three different genre and totally different characters. Let's see tomorrow with "Annarasumanara" first. :)

Yes he is, for sure. ^^ But I'm not blinded about everything he does either. I don't think all his roles or choices are the best. I personally would like to see him more in movies than dramas for example.
I don't argue against personal feelings or thoughts about dramas/movies/actors. I understand and respect that, it can be discussed but not opposed. I was just arguing friendly against the way ElephantBanana's comments were written. When something is written with the third person it means that it's something general, a fact, a truth, not a personal feeling. I'm just a picky writer, even though I'm not a native English speaker. ;)
As for action drama, as Ji Chang Wook said himself, it's not about not doing action drama anymore, he just wanted to try other things, different characters. "The Worst Evil" will be an action crime drama, so we will see what his character is exactly in that one. But he seems to train and bulking up again for that role so it's promising.
I'm not a fan of rom-com even if I watch a lot (that's the main genre of K-dramas...), but I really loved the fresh concept of "Lovestruck in the City" and his character of Park Jae Won, and even if I found that a drama wasn't very interesting ("Backstreet Rookie") or the development of the story fell off ("Melting Me Soflty"), he always portrayed the characters perfectly in my opinion. That's why he is my favourite actor obviously. Since his first roles, I love the way he acts and deliver the emotions of his characters, even if the drama/movie his not to my liking. So even if some of his choices are not the best, I support his choices and like seeing other sides of him through different characters, even if the projects are not very popular.

It’s not bad but still far from what I expected. And it’s really odd the way they pass from a serious atmosphere to a light one for me. I didn’t expected a cliché romance like that neither (the girl not knowing the real identity of her lover). The actors are not bad but I guess I’m not really into them too (except for Jung Hyuk, he is still on top).

I agree, the contrast was too big, it doesn't fit with the atmosphere of the story overall, that was odd.

That's a little bit disappointing. Not totally into it from the start. It could have been much better without the comedic and cheesy romance parts. It's just the first episode so I'll see with the next episodes, but I'm not totally convinced yet (because I expected it to be really really good). The cinematography is beautiful for sure though.

I think it's just that writing comments using the third person singular or plural is like stating a general truth/fact, not a personal preference/feeling. That's why I argue. ^^
Writing "I think his latest dramas were lackluster" for example is totally different, it's clearly your personal feelings and it's up to you of course. ;)
However, objectively speaking, without considering the fact that he chooses roles and projects he likes and want to play (because he can), and personal tastes of people disliking this or that, I believe that if his dramas were really that bad and not well received, they wouldn't make any money with it, so he should stop receiving first role offers and slowly become an "outcast". That's clearly not the case.

He chooses the projects and roles he want to play. If you didn't like anything since "Healer" (if you really watched everything he has done since then) that doesn't mean his choices are wrong. There is a difference between personal tastes and general facts. ;)

Back in 2016 he did say that it's demanding and very strenuous, that it's a genre with beguiling factors and joked that he will never do it again. He also said that he would do it again if a production or a character were worth it, even with extremely difficult action moves. And it seems the time has come.

Not really, but some Korean articles talked about an action crime drama with drugs traffics between Korea, Japan and China, but nothing about the characters and the exact plot is confirmed yet.

It was back in 2016 (time has passed), when promoting "The K2" and suffering from neck and back pains, but he said that as a joke during an interview (the video is on Youtube I think) and just after he said that he would do it again if a project was worth it. He also said in the same interview and many more since then that he wanted to try different roles that can express someone's heart and emotions differently.

Testosterone build up ! ^^ This will be a strong drama, especially if it's indeed a story that deals with drugs traffic and crime. Already super excited for that.

And "westerns and asians" have all the right to complain 24/7 too. Deal with it. If you reduce a debate to a "racial" war, you'll never see the end of it. People need to be smarter than that to overcome prejudices from all sides.
