Idk how I got to this article after so many years... maybe while searhing for Hokusai to Meshi Saeareba. You wrote about Kamishiraishi Mone, that: "people believe she has great potential to become one of the most popular actresses". So I have to say that they were right. She is amazing. :)
I watched this without skipping any scenes. All main characters were likable. If you like sweet fairy tales with almost no drama then I recommend this. Ending was beautiful. 9.5/10 for me.
Moreover I found that this "plot" with her friend on the last episodes was totally irrelevant... Don't you agree?…
There were many irrelevant events and plot holes. That thing with revelation of ML's identity was also absolutely unnecessary and not resolved in the end. Death of her friend was also unnecessary, she could be in some distant sanatorium instead...etc. I didn't care about 2nd leads much too. First 10 episodes were amazing and I would give it 10/10, but then it went slowly south. One last complain... how could Xiao Wei look the same after 3 years? Is she not human? :)
It was good, but very predictable (sometimes I was glad for it, but sometimes it was frustrating). Question: Does China have problems with elevators? Almost every elevator broke after they entered it. Also, what is the problem with Aloe Vera? Why they showed a warning to never use it at home? It is good first aid for burns. Ending was too rushed and that issue with journalists was unnecessary. The biggest problem is that I had a feeling that it is all acted... events were happening too strictly according to script. That is also why it was so predictable. I know that it is all acted, but I had not that feeling in most other dramas (they were more natural).
Here I wrote the negatives, but overall I liked it. I would prefer it to have some comedy, but as a psychological romance drama it was good (8.5/10).
It is not romance drama, so... how to say it... there is something, but there is not. Her romance with Kyung Soo is slowly starting when the drama ends. :)
What is this pairing of a 30-something man with a 16-year-old child as his ābrideā? Iām so irritated & distracted…
Asians look younger. She was 25 when this drama was created. ML was 37, that is not that big age gap as between 19yo and 900+yo. She could be played by some granny and the age gap would still be huge. I think that this way it better shows the contrast in their years than if actors would be of the same age.
It is good/open ending for most of them, except prosecutor Jang. He is hurt and the priest says that he probably will not make it through the night. Then there is a time skip... but no one says that he is dead and the rule in dramas says that until you can see dead body, you never know when someone comes back alive (he can be in coma). The way it ended I would assume that there can be 2nd seaon, but who knows...
Amazing twist. 𤣠Ending is quite open, but I liked it. The biggest blame for ruining the relationship of the leads goes to that security guy who kept turning off lights. But ML didn't deserve FL anyway, so it is good that he kept doing that. :)
