i still imagine how good this drama could've been as a rags to riches revenge found family story if it didn't include a forced melodramatic love triangle (square), cartoonish joker bohyun, the worst character assassination imaginable, and a terrible second half of kdrama tropes like yiseo getting [spoiler]. i still remember how invested i was at saeroyi's revenge story and the helplessness he felt against jangga. it's a feeling i haven't felt again. shame the second half ruined it.
out of the senior secret love series this one is easily the best. it's not a great drama and it's as typical of a romcom as you can get, but they have undeniable chemistry and i found myself smiling way more than i thought i would've
I don't understand the great reviews about this drama because it has been raising some questions from me since…
omg thank you. i thought i was the only one who was frustrated at the characters. i did finish the drama and while it told a good story, i hated most of the characters, esp the fml. she was constantly picking fights and arguing with the ml to the point of toxicity. it can't just be written off as a mental illness, she just treated him like crap. it left such a bitter taste in my mouth while watching. absolutely killed my love for this story.
i enjoyed this season more than the first, but i do agree there was endless monologuing lol. can anyone tell me what the significance of the elephants were? that scene always confused me
i know jdramas are usually rated much lower compared to kdramas on mdl. but HOW is this only 8.3??? like it's higher for a jdrama, but it seriously deserves higher. i suspect it's mainly from the ending?
lololol as someone who prefers dramas other than kdramas (aka jdramas, tdramas, etc), anything 8.0+ means it's…
i said anything 8.0+ for other dramas BESIDES kdramas (aka jdramas, tdramas, etc) usually indicates it being AMAZING, as majority are often in the 7.0s even if they're fantastic series. 8.0 is not great for kdramas (which i said in my comment), but an 8.0 doesn't mean it's bad either. a rating of 6.8 is bad. there are only so many 9.0 dramas on here and you can't expect all of them to reach that average rating. you'd miss out on a lot of gems and favorites if you only based it on average ratings. some of the highest rated ones are ones i didn't like at all and some 7.0s i watched were ones i adored.
i always think it's best to wait for reviews than the currently airing ratings as most people don't rate until it finishes. this drama could be great, average, or terrible. airing rating can only tell you so much, but you could be missing out on one of your favorites. of course, this is only my opinion though and 8.0 being a low rating is your opinion as well. i also think it's quite low for a kdrama on here, though i don't think it necessarily makes it "bad" per se. non-romantic accounting dramas aren't exactly the most popular stories on mdl lol. rather than basing it on ratings, comments, reviews, or even watching the a couple eps yourself is a lot better indicator of whether you'd enjoy it or not. but ofc that's up to you, i'm not your parent lmao. you do you.
Please convince me why I need to pick up this drama again. I dropped it long time ago (bcs of the exact same scene…
i wasn't convinced on how they could make a loop story work in a whole 15 eps, but after you overcome the initial repetition and confusion, the loops begin to explore the different backstories of each passenger, how they connect with one another, and how they ended up on the bus. the stories (imo) do a great job of fleshing the passengers out and making you WANT the leads to save the bus. on top of that is an ever-unfolding mystery of the bomb itself, actual competent police, and a slight romance. i think it blew up like it did (no pun intended) because it has a little of everything. the narrative does a good job revealing a little info with each loop, but still bringing emotion. the two leads do fantastically as well.
so if you're interested then i'd definitely say try again. if you aren't interested again then no need to force yourself. it's probably just not for you.
lololol as someone who prefers dramas other than kdramas (aka jdramas, tdramas, etc), anything 8.0+ means it's AMAZING. most of the time 7.6+ means it's quite good, but maybe not for kdrama standards. if anything, i'd wait for airing to finish and see the reviews. they're much better indicators of quality than the airing ratings (since most don't rate until the show ends)
in my opinion, this is not as toxic as TharnType for example, but it's not untoxic either? hahahaha considering…
i watched it a long time ago so apologies if i remembered it wrong, but i'm pretty sure there's a scene where gu hai practically kidnaps BLY, ties him up with ropes, and comes onto him. he doesn't go all the way, but it's like very evidently nonconsensual. also in pretty much every kiss or "romantic" interaction BLY is struggling or saying no. i don't think there's a single consensual one actually (where they both look like they're enjoying it)

HE = happy ending
