i loved the concept of this parodying typical romcoms, but it completely derails by the halfway point. i barely felt any love between the leads. i very rarely ever get sls, but the sml was the only decent character. it started losing the parody charm and the fml just got more unlikable by the episode. pretty disappointing overall, but i still thought it was an addictive watch, esp the first half.
I wish SBS, Disney+, and Wavve were properly promoting this drama like how JTBC and Netflix are promoting King…
i think the difference is that king the land is much more accessible to the public. it's on netflix which is one of the most popular and used streaming services. not as many people have disney+, but even if they do, dramas are only in select countries. i live in the us and i've been wanting to watch these, but they're just not available. the only one on disney+ for me is snowdrop. most people can only watch it is by "pirating" so def not as easily accessible.
but of course, there's another layer of it being a romcom with an idol pairing that SOOO many fans wished for for years. romcoms are also more accessible to the general public because not everyone can handle horror or thriller. i get what you mean about promotions, but revenant can't even really be compared to king the land cuz they're so different.
idk some of my faves get somewhere around the 7s and 8s. it also depends on how many ppl watch/rate. a rating of 8.1 is pretty good compared to a rating of 6.8 or smth. considering this is ongoing and only has 2 eps, it's hard to say how good it is so far
this drama really excels in every aspect tbh. the atmosphere, the tension, the plot, and the reveals are all done spectacularly. the leads are quite logical and not frustrating to watch. the villains are pretty terrifying every time they appear. the ost is incredible in setting the mood and building tension. i never felt bored or felt that it was draggy/slow (the pacing was great in general). the story itself is really interesting and the way they portray it makes it easy to follow. sometimes with too many convoluted plots or amount of characters, it gets hard for me to follow, but this was perfect.
overall, it's an amazing, intense, and gripping watch. it's not mindblowing to the genre, but if you're looking for an intense mystery thriller then this might be the right one for you. my only gripe is with the ending though so it may be best to wait for a s2 if there will be one. 9/10
Similar vibe to “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” and “Business Proposal” but not as good as either…
same here. i mean, business proposal was quite the cliche itself, but it was a really enjoyable watch for me. i also think as long as it's executed well. perhaps it's too early to say for this one then. i may check back after a few weeks if i don't watch the first two eps out of curiosity
idk much about this drama, but can anyone tell me dramas it has a similar vibe to? still debating if i should watch it cuz it doesn't seem like my type of drama
this was actually such a pleasant surprise, wholesome found family despite the dire situation. honestly, i would've even loved it to be a little longer to get a bit more character and relationship development + more into their backstories. i was so intrigued by these characters, but obviously the length prevents us from learning enough. overall though, really enjoyable watch
coz he is good at what he does n yet hasn't disappointed his fans
he's not as popular as a lot of other popular korean actors even though he's a really good actor. yet i always see his fans go absolutely FERAL over him (myself included)
