i wonder why they decided to make this a "special episode" instead of a movie?
it's basically a movie itself

okay bear with me, time travel is confusing T^T

so the main timeline is LZW getting into a car crash and waking up inside of WQS to which he goes to find HYX in college (and tries to woo her over). this HYX hasn't been to the past yet so she doesn't know LZW exists. eventually, after WQS and HYX get together and almost marry, the plane thing happens and WQS "dies". if i'm correct (sorry it's been a while since i watched), WQS survives the plane crash and lives on to be LZW with glasses. he goes back to warn young WQS to not board the plane, but young WQS doesn't want to ruin the timeline otherwise HYX would never travel back in time and they'd never meet + might have severe consequences.

basically: the glasses LZW is the "old" WQS who goes to meet the younger WQS aka the LZW who went into the coma body and tries to woo HYX. i hope at least one line of this makes sense T^T

yes!!! i hope you have fun haha, the whole series is amazing. def worth your time esp if you love brutal horror, terrifying zombies, historical political warfare, and gore lol

it's basically both an origin story and a set up for the probable third season. there's a character that shows up at the end of s2 and this is her backstory. so yes, i would watch both seasons first to understand what the origin leads to + be more familiar with the world and atmosphere.

however, if you watch it without watching the first two seasons, it won't spoil anything from the drama because they're completely separate stories. the series focuses on prince lee chang and his journey with the outbreak, while this "episode" focuses on ashin and the origin of the outbreak. though, i think if you watched this "episode" and then the two seasons afterwards, it would still make sense

so that scene was old LZW meeting younger LZW to warn him not to board the plane because that will be how he eventually dies and why the time cycle continues. however, young LZW goes on anyway because he doesn't want to alter the timeline too much or else there may be dire repercussions. yes, they're both technically LZW, just one is older (the one with the glasses) and is more aware of the timeline/what will happen than the other. i hope that makes a little more sense ?

please save yourself and don't watch this. the ML is a trashy emotionally and verbally abusive manipulator to the FML and basically gaslights her into thinking she's worthless and every situation is her fault. he's done this since they were young so she's incredibly insecure and believes everything he says. i would have loved this movie if it were a story about how she was abused like this and she grew up to move on and not take his shit + find a better man, but alas, it's romanticized and they want you to think this is cute. SPOILER ALERT!!! it's not. so please spend your precious 1hr 40min somewhere else.

what's up with all the bad reviews lately? lmao. is it the point in this drama's life where everybody is watching it because of its hype and dropping it because it's different from their expectations? i mean, it's definitely not perfect and it has a ton of comedic filler, but that's only one aspect of this show. there's a lot more to offer than those small scenes. it's also a nice break between some of the heavier scenes imo (coming from someone who hates comedy). i'm also surprised a lot of people are criticizing the plot tbh. who cares if it's predictable or unbelievable at points? it's one hell of a ride.

this doesn't mean that everyone who doesn't like this drama is wrong or that you HAVE to like it, i'm just saying there are so many people highly criticizing this show for being serious, comedic, filler-y, having romance, unbelievable, zany, etc, when that's the entire point.

to people debating if you should watch it: just try it out. the length seems intimidating, but i'm sure there's something you'll end up loving (i recommend watch up to ep 3 before dropping lol).

when tf did phuwin get SO good at acting and expressing?!?!?! he nailed his role here as pi omg. like he was great in my tee, but he's at a whole other level now which i was completely shocked about

i feel like this is the type of show you either love or hate. i myself was thinking of dropping it within the first three eps, but after a certain episode i think the characters get a lot more development. by the end, i genuinely cared for all the characters and found myself sad to leave them all so quickly. i also appreciated the bipoc and lgbtq+ representation a lot. it wasn't very funny per se, though it was quite heartwarming and i had a good time watching.

also, is it just me or did shin hyunseung remind anyone of kim yohan??? i swear the first few times he showed up i was like "yohan??? oh nevermind"

okay but i just realized that this ENTIRE story takes place in only a "few days" cuz the time jump back from the first scene only said "a few days ago," but there is no way this whole thing didn't take AT LEAST a week or something.

i read the webtoon (or the first 4 available chapters at least) and idk why i keep getting thriller vibes. jae-eun is so mysterious and ngl freaks me out a lot. i don't think it's supposed to be thriller in any way, it's just the vibes i keep getting lol

YES!!! everything you said in your review were my exact thoughts after finishing. the twist was honestly so unexpected, my jaw actually dropped. i was kinda hopeful that there would've been a "happy ending," but the more i thought about it, the more i thought that the ending technically WAS happy ? just seeing the perspective of a relationship with two flawed people who were clearly not meant for each other find their own paths felt so refreshing. i loveddd the scene of jang hyuk replaying all the memories and wondering where he went wrong. seriously, i thought it was such a great film :')

moral of the story: wear your masks and stay inside :D

tbh i don't get why everyone is calling this the worst show? i'm pretty entertained, although i'm a huge sucker for survival horror so i may be biased lol. also, i wish the english title for this was something like "black hole" instead. dark hole just sounds so awkward to me???

omg that's exactly what i was just about to comment. at least in s1 there were some they were able to solve, but in this one they pretty much didn't solve or "win" like 9/10 of the episodes and it was SO frustrating to watch. they go through all these puzzles for no payoff whatsoever. and i thought it would all lead to a great ending, but sadly not ://

it also just makes them seem like such an incompetent team this season compared to the first. what even happened to the writing and the script this time???

the scene in ep 8 (i think?) where tobio watches the video and then immediately after ichihashi yk.....was SUCH a shocking scene. not only because gave a little jump, but i feel like it was SO unexpected even though he said he would in the video. i was literally screaming at tobio to go help him asap and then it all happened too quickly. i'm still in shock from that scene tbh. my jaw legitimately dropped.
