yes i read that people often ridicule other battle royale-type of stories and claim they are copying squid game. and i see that you believe it is frankensteining/copying previous works. but my question was how and why do you believe squid game has not brought anything new to the genre?

is there a cliffhanger since there's already a s2 lined up?

this was such a good show. it's incredibly intense, but never boring. i do have a few qualms with futuba as a character lol. though, i'll refrain at least until part 2 comes out so we can see how she evolves (if she does). the cast is perfect and i especially loved sometani shota's character. all in all, such a wonderfully produced drama. i cannot wait for part 2

this was one of the first kdramas i ever watched and got me into dramas. even though it's not my favorite, it holds such a special place in my heart. i'd love more sismance roommate stories like this

i thought this was such a well-made series. it was thrilling, shocking, and you genuinely cannot guess what will happen next. the cliffhangers at the end of each ep kept me hooked. i usually move on pretty quickly after finishing a drama, but i still can't stop thinking about the story and the world. i wish there was more.

super cute drama. wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. for most of it, i thought it was pretty okay. i didn't really connect with any of the side characters and the plot was slightly frustrating. the finale was great though. tell me why i started tearing up a bit??? i just love how they brought everything together and it really wrapped the story up in a nice bow. pleasant watch. def recommend!

idk why but i kind of expected/wished it had a crazy twist like satomi was the killer and kara was an ex cop who was hunting satomi down as revenge for killing her bf. that's why satomi was so hellbent on stopping kara. ofc the actual twist is pretty insane, but i was just hoping for smth crazy like that.

crazy and thrilling, yet frustrating. intriguing plot, great villain, good acting, bad characters, fine pacing. the first half is pretty annoying, but the second half is quite exciting and shocking.

i'd say worth a watch just don't expect a masterpiece.

honestly, i was really thrown off by the sudden pace change when they introduced the parent's backstories, but as i was watching through them, i slowly got more and more invested in the storylines and it's satisfying seeing how they all converge in the future. ep 12-13 are incredible imo. yes it's definitely a very jarring transition, but i think it gives so much character and reasoning behind the parent's personalities/decisions. i just wish they made it more seamless than a sudden 7 ep arc in the middle. wish they'd have flashbacks alongside the main present story, shame.

the problem is they dedicated 4-5 straight full episodes to them after already introducing the main story. idk why they slowed the pace down so much instead of dispersing their flashbacks into the main story in an interesting way. also because their stories are mainly just to show the romance, i think it severely took away from the relevant action thriller plot that we were already seeing with frank.

the reason for returning was bad and ryuji is annoying, but idk i lowk liked this season the most ngl

i believe this season was based off the manga "alice in borderland retry" where they do go back into the games after escaping. granted, it's very different from the manga, but so were the first 2 seasons.

personally, i HOPE it's a coming of age story and not against curly hair because i'm exhausted by that trope. i'm hoping that since it's a modern tale they'll have modern views, but i guess time will only tell.

how do you know this is a movie against curly hair? it's a metaphor for her life. it starts getting tangled and curly, like her life, so she tries to straighten it. how do you know by the end she doesn't embrace her natural hair given to her by her dad? is it not nice to get representation of different hair types too?
