Going to check Journey to love. Liu Shi2. I saw clips besides Liu Yi Fei, this is the first time I can finally see some bad ass F actress fighting. Like LYX she comes fr Ballet. While we do have sm good M actors who can do good fight scenes. F actress fights scenes these days are borderline laughable except for Liu Yi Fei and now Liu Shi2

While LYX commands the top resources in Costume, that is not the case wt. modern drama. He is 35, he can only play costumes mostly 3-4 yrs. and he needs to transform to mainstream drama. No idol actor survives 40 without transforming to mainstream drama. Most actor fails and stop filming.

Leo has the acting needed for serious drama, but he doesn’t have the resource to enter mainstream drama, usually reserves for pp with good agency/background. But he plans it carefully. Yes L2L was a big mistake, thanks to producer using their own artist who can’t act to pair wt. Leo. But LCR is produced by Huace, a big mainstream producer wt. big director Mao Wei Ning who also mostly does mainstream drama, this is the reason Leo took LCR, opening connection to serious drama.

Huace also said LCR is their top 4 most profitable drama in 2022 FS. For LIP, All this producer drama goes to TV station, this is CCTV8 airing, the top of the game, and CCTV audience loves this, the only modern romance in their top 10 rating since 2020. I can guess def not MDL watcher cup of tea. Leo like everyone else, wants to be on CCTV, want to bank CVB rating 1+ on their resume.

Let’s face it we will never see LYX taking a romcom romance drama anymore. All his modern drama selection in the future is whatever drama he can get that path him to transform to serious actor for mainstream drama. It’s about connection, that what LCR and LIP successfully gave him.
