Curious where u get that impression? I followed weibo &, douban discussion on TTEOTM page & did not get that impression on 2nd FL or that majority think that ML/FL are highly flawed, except for those by paid navy/antis. And those 1star are mostly paid antis too, for the very valid reason bellow:

Many times, C Gov criticized Douban for many 1 star by antis /actor competitors. Highly anticipated drama gets low rating is not new. Bfr, sev hours bfr drama air, 1 star rating in thousands already rated highly anticipated drama. Gov punished Douban many times does not seem to work.
Note that only Douban has low rating for TTEOTM in China wt. 300K pp rated, BUT Youku app with 2+ Millions pp rated has 8 score and weibo with more pp than douban rated has 7.7. Internationally across platforms TTEOTM is rated fairly high too. On Douban TTEOTM page, the no 3 page with most posts in Douban history, majority dislike the 2nd FL characters, Pity ML and split opinion on FL. But if you go to General Douban Drama page, every discussion abt TTEOTM is being bashed. Douban used to be credible 10 yrs ago but not anymore. Drama without high expectation, high traffic actor usually gets rated fairly but not those wt. Traffic actors/ V highly anticipated.
FL voice on LBFAD, Many F Voice actors in China has similar voice that’s why it is acceptable in China, they are used to hear that kind of voice. For them most important is clarity without much accent. For Us, yes many can’t stand high pitched FL voice and we can’t judge on clarity.

I have said multiple time here bfr, I don’t hate YBC exactly because her acting was MEH, she is not convincing in all her roles here, I don’t discuss too much abt YBC exactly because I’m really disappointed in her acting. And she has been acting since 2015 without much improvement, she is not a newbie where DW is a newbie.
I will hate YBC if it portrayed as memorable as a good Villain like in Ancient Love Poetry _ Jenny Zhang, or The Blue Whisperer_ Cristy Guo.
