Is that really the alternative ending? I thought it's the hint for a next season run. Towards the very end, an unidentified person with scars on his hand said, "I definitely will not let you leave me." The face was not shown, but pretty sure he's Su Fu.

Can't set too high standard, otherwise you can't find many dramas to watch. This one is not as bad as the others, just a couple annoying characters. The leads are not perfect but pretty good, and the drama is not totally silly either. If you want the good, pretty serious stuff, check out Nirvana in Fire.

Never have I seen such an annoying Shi Fu as this one. Despicable character!

Really hate it when girls are being taken advantage of by men, but they still feel they're too weak to stand up against the men.

All Fu Jiu Yun's actions are sexual harassment. Qin Chuan should start a "Me Too" movement. :(

Again, so beautifully written. Relish every word you say. So true and so heart-felt, bringing back all the scenes how dark humanity can become. Two thumbs up!

I love the dancing scene in Episode 1. So beautiful. The director did a wonderful job in making the dancer looking so celestial.

Absolutely agree with you. The first time I encountered Ren Jialun was in The Destiny of White Snake. Dropped that series because I couldn't grow to like him (may need to go back to that series now). Since then, I've been shunning Ren Jialun's dramas. Wasn't going to watch Under The Power when I saw him in it, but didn't have anything else to watch so I thought I'd just watch a few scenes. Bam! That was it. I was hooked. I was so attracted to him and his acting. Yes, Ren Jialun is not at all that good looking and tall compared to many of the new actors, but he does have his charisma like you said. Now I'm watching his old dramas, including this one.

16 episodes in, this series is so GOOD! So intense! Must watch!
