We must've watched different dramas with the same title! The main cast dubbed themselves. And as many cliche tropes it uses, the leads chemistry and their comfort around each other are actually the drama's strong points.

I only watch Cdramas, but these are great choices for the friendship list! Adding my voice to Hikaru No Go, and I'd also suggest A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower.

My tribe group has similar tradition. Back then, cousins from siblings (brother & sister) were encouraged to wed. For instance, if I (an F) have a son, he will be paired off with my brother's daughter. It's not widely practiced anymore, but certainly such tradition used to exist in various communities.

I suspect it's the editing. Apparently there are tons of cut that didn't make it to the final product, and somehow they affect the flow, as well as putting the characters in not so positive light (as you can see in the BTS clip shared by some posters below). But who knows, maybe bad writing too eheh. Or they deliberately let the characters show their flaws.

I'd also add the Longest Day in Chang An -- it's basically a political drama but more action-oriented, with the best cinematography and art direction of any Cdramas in recent year.

I don't understand LJ's mom. (Or the writing of her character, to be exact). I feel like it's her way of "revenging" to LJ since he's so firm about his relationship with Shengnan. Or maybe it's her way to tell Shengnan not to let LJ's protection to her head?
