Yup, that last scene! I think it is a revelation that somehow Gebiyama is being killed at the end by some folks in the town, that why it is Aonuma Kiryu who is seen at the last scene. Perhaps Gebiyama sees what is not in reality. It is also seen that Gebiyama boards a bus to "Tokuyo" or Hades in Japanese. Just a guess though, maybe someone will give an insight of that sequence.

This drama reminds me a lot of Atami no Sousakan, too many resemblance. In example, in Atami there also a mysterious character named "Mr 2" (2 is an omen of misfortune in Japan, as well as 4) while in Henshin, Mou Hitori (One More Person) serves as its conterpart. Perhaps Henshin's ending is related to Atami's, both relates themselves with matters of afterlife and surrealism

Hmm...having close to finishing Henshin Interviewer (beware, not everyone's cup of tea, but worth a shot) and Pan no Soup Neko Biyori. I also watch some more, but the subtitles come at snail's pace (i.e Saito-san 2).
Lately I watched some movies like Cowards Who Looked to The Sky (wanna do a review on this one) and two excellent special dramas, namely Tokeiya no Musume and Radio. I urge you to watch the last two SPs, they are so damn good!

Still can't hardly believe this movie isn't popular in MDL. I guess lots of the members were still kids when this show was very popular back then. C'mon, you gotta give this entertaining movie a shot

I am fan of the screenwriter-director, Satoshi Miki. Not everyone can chew up his works because they deal with crazy vision, weird fantasy and quirky, nonsense details. I've watched almost all of his works. Henshin Interviewer, as I ever said before, reminds me a lot of Atami no Sousakan, though not as dark and surreal. I prefer Atami though, it is more conceptually intricate and a bit smarter. I recommend you to watch Atami if you enjoy Henshin Interviewer, I bet you'll like it
