Diva behavior and reportedly poor treatment towards film crews.
But as I mentioned earlier, she later apologized and got her acts together.

Her output quantity and especially quality declined within period of 2009-2014 (post Last Friends), while many of her contemporaries of the similar age group chugged along and kept accruing high profile and award winning roles. I recall she was out of the conversation when it comes to cast selection for elite movies at the time.

She could've been a true elite actress (perhaps even pushing to one of the greatest ever in Geinoukai), had she been handled better, the talent is there.

I am so proud that an Indian director made this film, and was able to persevere despite so many obstacles.

Thank goodness Tabe (and to lesser extent Kurashina from Welkame) managed to pull a comeback even with this kind of setback.

Agree! I enjoy so many of the 'experimental' asadoras even if they're not perfect. Ono Machiko was also such a…
Had she been born 15 years late she'd very likely never be cast to lead any asadora. And her career might very well be stunted and never anywhere reach her potentials. God knows how many talents out there who will never see the light of day due to such outrageous policy.

This asadora is one of the most memorable ones with tons of memorable moments, but the most epic one is the one where Shimatani pinched Kasumin's cheeks in the kitchen lol.

This one and Welkame seem very unpopular with asadora fans. [I guess 2009 was a bad year for asadora lol.] Nevertheless,…
The 2000s in general is full of asadoras like this. Experimental or untested ideas, starred by lesser known actresses and directors/writers who were hungry to prove themselves, that are sadly often underbaked or simply badly executed/underfunded.

Although the 2000s and to lesser extent early 2010s are full of 'failed' and 'experimental' asadoras, I still miss the daring decision to do open auditions for new or under-noticed actresses like Ono to be given chance to prove themselves as the leads. Unlike these days where one has to be already established superstars in order to get the role :(((

I really like her, I wish she got more main roles
She was really popular in early 2000s

A Japanese woman who is almost 180cm, along with ane Watanabe. They would tower over the male actors in high heels..
Coincidentally enough both were born just a few months apart, and had their careers propped by leading asadoras.

The show would have been better with Kinami Haruka or Mizukawa Asami as the main lead
Ah Kaze no Haruka, starred by Murasaki...I meant Kinami Haruka. The great what-if of Jdrama Land.

I feel this comment is 5 years late already lol.
Totally agreed with your last verdict and it seems the survivability of child actors, that is, towards more sustained success into teenage and adulthood, has been improved considerably these days as well.

Her acting has improved by leaps and bounds in the past few years. I'm really enjoying her dramas and movies since…
Yup looking back, I can concur. Her watershed moment was at Narratage/Biri Girl period.
