The tv ratings for this are as dire as its MDL rating, starting out at 2.7%, falling to just 1.5%, a 44% drop. Some will always claim a disliked drama is a misunderstood masterpiece; usually it's not the case.

More directors should be as quick as Ahn Pan-seok!

Apparently Choo Young-woo is filming Love Doctor until February (only a four-month shoot seems quick even for Ahn Pan-seok), which makes me wonder if he's still doing this. Strange that we have not gotten anything more solid on casting if crew stuff has started already.

Also not sure what awards they are talking about, she's neither won a Baeksang nor a Blue Dragon Award. Most of her nominations are from the networks' own end-of-year awards, which hardly count for anything.

He is filming Four Hands which will premiere in Q3 next year, most likely.

I wouldn't expect a romcom, it seems like a mistranslation to me. Everything about this suggests a romance melodrama, including the trailer and the comments made by director+cast.

I didn't find him stoic in the (brief) teaser at all. Excellent emotive eye acting in my view.

This seems to confirm it's more of a melodrama than a romcom, as many of us predicted based on the synopsis and the trailers. That makes me very happy - romcoms have disappointed me lately.

Any queerness on terrestrial tv in Korea will have to be subtle, so at most it will be like Choo Young Woo in Tale of Lady Ok or Kim Do Wan in Wedding Impossible.

So instead of doing that half-heartedly, I think it would be much more successful to go all in on the bromance and have Bi-O be jealous not on any sort of sexual level, but rather because he doesn't want some girl to steal his piano prodigy bestie slash rival.

This is a tvN weekend drama; anyone expecting anything queer beyond subtext is just setting themselves up for inevitable disappointment. I'm hoping we get excellent bromance/rivalry, and it looks like we will.

Heartbeat was a terrible drama from which nobody escaped unscathed. She was excellent in both Squid Game and Tempest, so the problem clearly was not her acting abilities.
