It's not surprising that his performance has been hyped when:
1. He had little time to prepare as a last-minute replacement
2. People had low expectations to what a "rookie" could do in the role
3. The drama itself was a massive global hit and thus was itself very hyped

I think he did very well and I'm glad he's getting praised for it. I don't care too much about whether it's "too much hype" or not, but I'm excited that it will give him new possibilities.

Everything is very green. For me it’s distracting and not visually appealing, hence “annoying”. Even though it’s clearly a deliberate choice in lighting/post-prod by the director, it doesn’t work for me.
