The real Joseon king the source material is based on took the throne at the age of 18.
The web novel is based on a real king of Joseon who became king when he was 18. The drama just changed his name. So really Lee Chae Min is perfect.

F*CK YOU NETFLIX WHY YOU DIDN'T ADD ALL OF EP IN ONE DAY 😠
It's a tvN weekly drama, so they can't do that. They've just licensed it for simulcast.

what was the ratings for the reruns compared to how it usually is?
This is the only drama that has made the daily top 10 list at Nielsen for its reruns, so there are no numbers to compare with from other dramas.

The tvN rating this weekend will be interesting. The reruns of the first episodes have done really well, better than any other of their dramas this year, and it’s been dominating on Netflix. Plus audiences didn’t seem to respond that well to its competition (Twelve). Hopefully it can rise more! Would love to see double digits for this drama before the end of its run.

The trailer for this is mindblowing. Looks like it could be even better than Little Women!

This writer does not do "horrible". Virtually everything she's ever done has been excellent, including some of the best Koreans films ever made.

So far it feels like a "safer", less creative or witty version of Mr Queen, with more cooking scenes.…
I don't really think they feel similar at all beyond the superficial similarities ("chef", "time slip"). The drama is also not produced by Netflix, but simply licensed for global distribution.

When is filming expected to finish?
Towards the end of the year, most likely sometime in November.

Actors (and I assume staff) are paid per episode. Production costs have sky-rocketed in recent years (as have the fees for star actors), so it's a way to keep costs under control.

Am i the only one or anyone else also think that Lee Chae Min doesn't fit in the role of a angry , arrogant and…
He is excellent in the role and has been widely praised. He’s funny in Ep1 because the absurdity of the situation with the time-traveling "ghost" calls for it and this is a romcom. You see a bit more of his serious and cruel side in Ep2.

i am loving this drama but i have a question. i have heard before that korean audience takes their history really…
This is a fantasy romcom so less weight is put on ā€œhistorical accuracyā€ compared to a serious sageuk. I mean it has time travel, it’s obviously not meant to be taken seriously. They also changed the name of the King to a fictional one since his true name still carries some weight to be more sensitive to that. Elements of his biography are retained but it seems too far removed from reality to ruffle too many feathers. (But hey, it’s early—netizens may still stir up some drama.)
