It did really poorly on Korean TV with just 2.2% for its premiere, the lowest for a JTBC drama premiere in that time slot for years, I think. The rating also went down as the episode progressed, suggesting that people tuned out during the airing. But online reception seems positive. Maybe it can surprise on Netflix.

New ratings record for episode 4 with 11.1% on MBC! Highest rating for a Friday-Saturday drama this early in its run, I believe. Add to that the success on Disney+ and it's clear this is a hugely popular hit!

Seems the filming period has been updated to early May to late November. Should be 2027, surely?

And "just discussing their preferences" kind of ignores how tiring it is for everyone else to see comment sections hi-jacked by people whining about a trope we don't know how will play out in a drama that hasn't aired.

Maybe they should build a bridge and get over it, then. SML being into FL is a staple in Korean romance dramas, and many of the most popular dramas feature this trope. Whining on here is not going to change that. Either you watch or you don't.

FL is writing BL about her teachers, but it's not actually BL. But I guess the vibes may be.

That's because she was talking about herself, relating it to her own experience of being thought of as a "siren" when she actually was a survivor. Through history, women have been labeled anything from sirens to witches (burned on the stake, even), often for little reason other than prejudice.

Sirens are mythological creatures so I’m not sure what you expected. The title always referred to people’s perception of her—as a “dangerous” woman who brought death wherever she went.

People love saying actors changed “so much” to imply they had procedures done, but he looks the same to me as well. He’s had the same look since Abyss basically.

Not too surprised about them snubbing an 18+ TVING-only web drama, even if the performance warranted a closer look. Then there were other dramas I was more surprised to see miss out.

Wonderful start to the drama. Devoured these two episodes and had a great time. Can't wait to spend the next five weeks with this drama. The casting is note-perfect. Hooked and ready for more!
